Bio: Amber has seen more than she should in her life. Born to a prostitute for a mother, and a pimp for a step-father, she grew up in a house where there were different men and women in every day. She would always stay in her room when they came, though it did nothing to stop the sounds coming from the surrounding rooms. Around the time she was 10, her mother had left her home alone to get groceries, and her step-father was gone. One of her mother’s clients chose then to come over unexpectedly. Having always been told to never open the door when no-one was home, Amber told the man that her mother wasn’t home and he would have to come back later. Unfortunately for her, the man was high and wouldn’t take no for an answer. He ended up breaking into the house, and told Amber that since her mother wasn't home to do her job, the young girl would have to do. Once he finished with her, he threw money done on the ground next to her and left. When Amber’s mother returned later on that day, she tearfully told her mother what had happened. Once again drugs played a negative role in Amber’s life, and her mother didn’t believe her, calling her a whore and accusing her of wanting to take her clients. She told Amber’s step-father, who immediately said that if Amber felt she were old enough to have sex, then he may as well put her to work. Amber spent the next 7 years being raped over and over for money.
She finally got out of the house months before her 18th birthday. She’d stabbed the current man on top of her with a knife she’d hid under her pillow and ran from the house with nothing but the clothes on her back and the money she’d also stashed in her pillow case. It was enough to get her a plane ticket to the furthest place from Maine, which happened to be California.
As of now, Amber found an old apartment that nobody was using. She hopes that she’ll be able to stay there until she can get her own apartment. Amber refuses to ask anyone for help. Not only because of her shy nature, but because she’s thrown up a defense for anyone who tries to talk to her. It is the only way she knows how to keep herself safe now.
