Xander smiled a bit at her and shook his head as he sipped at his coffee. "Nah, it wasn't your fault; Jackie just likes to make fun of me." It wasn't surprising since Xander and the rest of his family considered Jordan Collins as his first real love interest which would have sounded weird to other people because he was already 18. "I think it's great that you're friends with my sister; I mean you know aside from the fact that she's probably extracting information out of you about our relationship during lunch or something...", he trailed off. He couldn't really admit to her that Jackie was a great judge of character and that if she approved, then his entire family approved. It would have sounded more than just a little strange. "So, do you want to go walk?"

Collins nodded. "I'm glad I'm friends with her too, she's a ball of energy and it's just refreshing." She smiled and linked her arm with his. "We should walk." She looked up at the ceiling. "Will they be able to see us out in the garden?" She didn't mind if they could, she just had a feeling he might not be comfortable kissing her in front of an audience, which was fine too.

Xander smiled. "Yeah, and she's stopped harassing Joseph so much because she has friends to hang out with now." It had been a running joke amongst their family members of how desperate Jackie had been to hang out with people that she'd even drag around her anti-social older brother just to have someone to spend time with. He picked up his coffee cup as she linked arms with him and made their way to the backyard. The lights were already on and the trees sparkled with them. Xander shook his head and smiled. "Naah, they won't see us here. The place is really secluded and the only way they could spy on us is if they're following us right now which I highly doubt." He stopped briefly, and leaned towards Collins to briefly kiss the corner of her mouth. "I'm glad that they're not around 'cause I get to do that." A smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he pulled away and began walking down the trail.

Collins loved the look of their garden and the closeness of the ocean too. She smirked as he kissed the corner of her mouth and continued to stroll with him. She was perfectly content walking beside him beneath the stars and the lights from the garden and if she got to kiss him more that would just continue to make her night, audience or not.

The silence between them wasn't awkward and in fact, there was an aura of content and peacefulness between them that he liked very much. Xander sipped at his coffee and decided to break the silence with a question. "So if I told you my birthday was this April, would you be interested in spending it with me?" It was a random question but something he had been thinking about for a while now. He was sure his family would hold some sort of party-thing that he wasn't really excited about. He didn't enjoy being the center of attention, he never had and he probably never would.

Collins turned to him and nodded enthusiastically. "I'd love to spend your birthday with you." She untangled her arm and wrapped both arms around him. "I couldn't imagine not spending it with you, now that I know, so what lucky day in April belongs to you?" She went back to just hooking her arm in his and sipped from her almost empty mug. "My birthday is in April too."

Collins suddenly wrapped her arms around him and he found himself grinning like a fool. "Great. I didn't know your birthday was in April; when is it?" He finished his coffee and Xander chuckled. "My twin and I were born on 4/20." Not that they did drugs but some of their friends liked celebrating his birthday a different way and it was amusing to watch. "Are you going to do anything for your birthday?" He hadn't even thought that her birthday could be in April and he was already panicking on what to get her.

"Two days before yours actually." She smiled wondering if they might just celebrate alone, though all arrows seemed to point to no because his family seemed really adamant about celebrating and having parties to help with the insaneness. "I would love to spend my birthday with you too." Typically, Collins spent her birthday with her friends at Palmers, enjoying milkshakes and fries and simply laughing it up. It was fun and all, but spending time with Xander seemed better this year. "Oh you know Palmers with the clique, my parents usually get me something nice or make a hefty contribution to my college fund, but parties aren't such a big deal there. But don't get me wrong, I haven't really enjoyed birthday parties since I was about eight, unless of course it was for someone else. Oh and if you're worried about what to get me don't be, time with you is more than enough."

Xander paused and turned to look at her, surprised. "I didn't even think about that... I don't know if you'd like to spend my birthday with my family... They're so happy and hyper and... huge.", he said with a tiny laugh. "We could always share a birthday date in between, like on the 19th or something... Just the two of us... If you'd like." He liked that Collins liked his family and vice versa but he didn't want to spend his birthday sharing his time with Collins with his family who would obviously ask a lot of questions.

Collins shrugged a shoulder. "I wouldn't mind spending your birthday with you and your family, but sharing a mid-birthday date would be just as awesome as long as it's just the two of us." She let her shoulder drop. "If you'd like to go to Palmer's with me and everyone you're more than welcome." She smiled. "It'll be three days of celebrating, we'll probably be exhausted by day four, but it'll be totally worth it."

Xander grinned. "Cool, I've never tried having a 3-day birthday celebration but it sounds like a lot of fun." He smiled at her and lightly nudged her shoulder with his. "It's a date then." He chuckled as he realized. "It'll be fun to watch my family drink." He waggled his eyebrows suggestively. "I'll tell you a secret... Well my family knows so I guess it's not a secret. I'm a light weight." And it was true, he was probably the only one from the Burkehearts, the Tays and the Andersons who got dizzy from one shot of tequila. His godmother had been disappointed in him.
"So what's your favorite color? I'm going to start asking you random questions that could relate into me finding you a suitable birthday gift."

Collins giggled. "That's alright, I don't drink much myself." She tilted her head and laughed. "I mean in comparison to the way teens my age drink, I might have a single drink every fifteen months." She wasn't kidding, she'd never developed the taste for alcohol and was sure she'd be about the same once it was legal for her to walk into a liquor store and buy her own. She squeezed his arm as he explained why he was asking her random questions. "I told you, you don't have to get me anything, but I don't mind answering your questions. My favorite color is cherry red." She shrugged her shoulder again. "I just love red and variations of the color, except maybe pink." Her eyes grew as if she were annoyed or shocked about it. "Pink just doesn't do it for me, though orange and coral are suitable substitutes. What about you?" She asked. "I don't see how asking you what your favorite color is will aid me in finding you a birthday gift, but maybe the crazy shaped puzzle pieces will come together once you've continued your interrogation." She giggled.

Xander chuckled. "Well 18 is the drinking age in the Philippines; I guess that's why they're so used to drinking. I was always their guinea pig for the drinks." He sighed mournfully, as he remembered the numerous times he had blacked out and regained consciousness the next day. It was probably one of the reasons why he liked coffee so much, it kept him awake. "I know I don't have to but I want to. I like you.", he said simple with a tiny smile as he tucked away the information of her favorite color away in his brain. "Well, I'm keeping all options open for anything that might strike your fancy, and it might just come in a cherry red color." He grinned. "I like green. Like emerald green. I also like dark blues-- the ones that almost turn black." Xander tilted his head as he thought of other questions to ask her. "What types of food do you like?"

Collins nodded, she hadn't known the drinking age in the Philippines was eighteen. "And what is it in Italy?" She asked. "I'm not exactly sure how that would pan with me? I can imagine Garret trying to pour drinks down my throat, but I can also imagine him doubled over in pain from the kick in the stomach I would issue him after the cup touched my lips." She smiled.
"Well I admire you for trying to come up with something yourself for me instead of asking me instead, that's such a difficult question to answer. I mean I could tell you I wanted something outside of your price range and then what? Risk offending you?" She smiled. "Green is an admiral color and dark blues are mystical, that's a reflection of you in a way. I mean you're admirable and mysterious." She giggled a little. "I never would have thought you'd be such an amazing kisser."
"Favorite foods, hmm, that's a hard one. I like just about anything with pasta or rice, so it ranges, Italian or Asian..." She put both of her hands in front of her, palm up, in a weighing fashion. "You?"

Xander waggled his eyebrows suggestively. "In Italy, there's no drinking age. You have to be 18 or older to buy the alcohol though." He shrugged. "I don't mind much and they always have some way of coercing me. If you can't tell, my siblings all bully me into doing whatever they want, especially your friend Jackie." He scrunched up his nose in an overdramatic fashion before grinning again.
He nodded at what she was saying. "Well I never really like to ask people what they want because everyone does that. And even if I do mess up in getting them something, at least they know I tried to make it somewhat special." He quirked a brow at her. "Me? Admirable and mysterious? More like shy and prone to embarrassing myself." He moved close to her to briefly brush his lips against hers. "Thanks, you are too." He pulled away as he tried to remember if there were charms that had pasta or rice in them as he spoke. "Well I'm not too picky an eater but I like sweets. Bitter chocolate to be exact. Though I love lasagna too; my mom was great at making it too.", he added a bit wistfully.
