She wanted to cry, she wanted to laugh, she honestly didn’t know what she was feeling. “You sure made it seem like I was just like everyone else.” In hindsight, Ser realized that wasn’t the smartest thing to say when they were trying to make up but she couldn’t help it. He had hurt her feelings! She sighed softly and leaned against the tub as she closed her eyes. “I love you too Ed. Hold on, let me get dressed. I’ll be there soon.” She cut him off, once again thinking that it was probably the wrong thing to do but she wasn’t thinking straight just yet.
She gingerly got out of the tub, grabbing the nearest fluffy towel she could find to dry herself. She drained the tub of the water after wrapping herself in the towel; exiting the bathroom to find something to wear. Ser finally decided on a lacy bra and panty set before shrugging on a pair of dark denim shorts and a dark green long sleeved shirt. After brushing through her locks, slipping on her sneakers and grabbing her phone, she was out the door once more. She was a bit concerned that her mother would find her but it seemed like the only person who was at home was Georgie. She was once again in the kitchen, probably cooking up one of her amazing confections. “What are you doing home?” Ser laughed easily and shrugged. “Oh, just thought I left something here that I couldn’t find at the apartment. It’s probably in Kai’s car or something.” She managed to lie easily and she couldn’t help but heave a sigh of relief when Georgie accepted it. She said her goodbye before walking out the front door and walking back to her apartment with Edward and Daylin.
The walk took shorter than she had expected; leaving her with half an argument and brimming with nerves. She had never been so scared to confront anyone in her life. There were only two times in her life when she had felt so nervous: the first being her pregnancy scare and the second was when she had returned to Edward. It took her mere minutes but she was standing outside their front door and she shivered; not from cold but even more nerves. She hoped that when they did get married, she wouldn’t feel this way. Ser opened the door, expecting Edward to be on the couch but he wasn’t and so she slowly walked in. “Edward?”

Edward heard the other line click, a bit agitated with her responses, but he didn't say anything. He sighed and stayed where he was in the kitchen for what seemed like an eternity. It was taking her way longer than it should be, he had figured she would have driven her car. Whee was starting to get a bit worried about her, but then he finally heard the door open and his name being spoken. He was out of his chair in moments, half of the beer still sitting in the bottle.
He pulled her into an embrace, which probably confused her, but that didn't matter because he had been horrified that she wouldn't come back. He loved this girl more than life and he didn't know what he would do if he lost her. He loosened his grip from around her shoulders and licked his lips. "Alright, I guess we should sit down," he said lightly. He started toward the couch and set himself on the side expecting her to sit opposite him. He let out a huge sigh and started his explanation, "Okay, so I guess you already figured out, I can't deal with people 'reminding me' about Daylin." He spoke slowly trying not to get annoyed again as he spoke about it. "I uh--people have always thought I was too young, that I can't handle her and that just really... Gets to me." He looked up at her to make sure she was listening still. "And I know that you aren't like them, I just... When I get mad, I comprehend everything incorrectly and it makes it seem like I'm just talking about you when in reality it's everyone but you. My anger clouded my thought process and I am sorry for that..."

It didn’t even take a few seconds for Edward to find her and his tight hug did confuse her. But it also comforted her and she couldn’t help but melt into the embrace. Ser thanked her lucky stars that Edward was such a forgiving person; it had frightened her to think of coming home to more arguments and to more words that would cause the rift in their relationship to deepen.
Ser nodded and moved to the opposite end of the couch; kicking off her shoes before tucking her feet under her. She bit her bottom lip and watched him, listened to him explain why he had become so upset at her. Sure she had always thought that Edward had been too young to be a father but it didn’t mean he was bad at it. He was actually really good at it, and she wondered vaguely at the back of her mind if he didn’t know how many people were proud of the fact that he had come so far with Daylin. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know… And I’m sorry for snapping at you about the wedding.” Her bottom lip was raw from her nervous gnawing but she couldn’t help it as she tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear and hazarded a glance at her fiancé. “My mom was only a year older than you when she had me. So I guess I do kind of understand what you feel; I just didn’t know that it affected you so much.” She smiled gently at him. “You shouldn’t get angry when people do that though Ed. I don’t think they do it with any malice; I certainly didn’t. And I’m very proud of the way you’ve taken care of Daylin. Even before I was ever in the picture, you already had everything under control with her.”

Edward shrugged lightly at her, he wasn't really concerned about the wedding stuff anymore. He licked his lips before he looked back at her, "I usually don't get so mad, I just keep it to myself, but I was already annoyed and I just spiraled. I'm sorry..." He wasn't good at apologizing, or he should say he wasn't used to it. Not when he had actually done something wrong. He let himself smile, however and looked at her. "I love you. For real. I really can't lose you and I think you made me realize that, but you do know that once we're married you can't just leave if we're fighting..."

Seraph laughed in embarrassment, her cheeks were flushed. “Yeah I know I can’t just leave… I was just so hurt by the things you said. I just needed to get away a bit. I was going to come back you know. I guess leaving the ring was a bit overdramatic.” She was scared to admit that she had secretly wondered when she was by herself if she had needed a reason to leave. If she had needed a reason to call the wedding off. Ser was sure it was just pre-wedding jitters but the fact that she had even tried it scared her. Was she really prepared to be married? To have a kid and to have a family? Maybe that was what lay at the bottom of all her crankiness these past few weeks. Her fear.
She moved closer to Edward so that her knees brushed against his thigh. “I love you too. You know that right?” Ser tilted her head slightly so she could get a better look at him, her beautiful burnished locks tumbled over her shoulder in the process. Laughing softly, she shrugged her shoulders in a helpless fashion. “You just have to be patient with me; it seems I have much to learn.”

He scoffed lightly at her 'overdramatic' comment. It had horrified him, he thought he was really losing her because of one fight. He didn't say anything about it, though, he didn't want to start another fight. He knew that more would come, but it didn't need to be so soon after the first. He licked his lips and nodded lightly, he definitely knew that she loved him, it was no shock, not anymore, but he needed her to understand that just because he got angry that didn't mean he wanted her to leave. He nodded again and then smiled at her, opening his arms as if telling her to come to him. He wanted to hold her so she'd know that he wanted her. "I'm sorry. I just sometimes forget that I kind of grew up a little faster than everyone else. I never even asked you if you wanted to be a mother and it's kind of being thrust upon you, but you've been so good at it since you've been living here, I just thought it didn't need to be asked."

Ser crawled into his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck and curling up like a happy cat. “You know I’d do anything for you. I’d do anything for you and Daylin. Being a mom to her is new, definitely. But it is something I’m willing to learn. I have a good teacher in parenting anyway.” She smiled softly and pressed a gentle kiss to the corner of his mouth, closing her eyes in relief. All her fears were dashed when she was with him like this; in his arms and safe from the evil of the world. All she needed was this, him and her together. That was all she really required.
Seraph turned so that she could meet his eyes, smiling lightly. Her teeth lightly sunk to nibble on her bottom lip as she lightly reached out to touch his face. “I think you have something of mine, Edward Smith?” If anything, this making up solidified her decision to be with him. Sure she knew there would be rough patches along the way. What kind of meaningful relationship didn’t? But she was sure she could weather any storm life threw her way if he was there to back her up; to forgive her mistakes, to be patient with her and to love and accept her for who she was through and through.

He wrapped his arms around her as she came into his arms. This is what he loved, cuddling, being close. It had always been his favorite part of having a daughter, as well, Daylin loved to snuggle. Letting out a gentle chuckle, Edward shook his head, "Yeah right, I'm just learning too. Seven is a weird age." He licked his lips lightly, though and grinned at her and shook his head lightly, "Actually I don't, it's on the table still... I didn't pick it up." He squeezed her tighter though, letting her know that he didn't want her to get up to fetch the ring. It would be fine to stay there for a little while. "I like this Ser better than the scary, wedding-planning one." He burried his nose into her hair, his eyes closed tight as if hiding from he repercussions that might come from his uttering that phrase.

Seraph laughed at his response. “Well I guess if worse comes to worst, we could always ask our mothers. They did a pretty good job with us, right?” Her mouth formed a little ‘o’ in understanding when he mentioned the ring. It didn’t bother her at all; she could get it later. For now, she just wanted this time with her soon-to-be husband. She giggled softly when he buried his nose into her hair; he always did that and for some reason it made her heart skip a beat. Ser closed her eyes, perfectly content with where she was at that very moment. Her life wasn’t perfect but this was probably as close to perfect as it could get and she was fine with it. “Yeah me too; me too.”

Edward nodded, "Yeah, we could. They did a very good job, if I say so myself." He pulled his face out of her soft hair and set his head back against the back of the couch. He could look at her for hours and not get tired of it, so he did, he just looked at her. He gave her side a light squeeze, playing with her a little bit, but really it was a loving gesture. He loved being so close to the girl he loved. It felt right. Especially after the day they had been having.

Seraph laughed and shook her head. “Yes, of course you would.” She ran a hand through her hair and smiled at him, quirking her brow once she realized he was just looking at her. “What?” She squeaked softly when he squeezed her side and tried to move out of his grasp. “What are you doing?” She managed to ask him in between gasps and giggles. Ser moved closer so she was straddling his lap, her hands encircling his wrists so he would stop moving.

Edward smirked as she started squirming. He loved that too, the teasing. As much as she acted like she hated it, he was pretty sure that she loved it too. She repositioned herself so that she was straddling him and he smirked. He shook his head lightly as she asked what he was doing. "I was just looking at you. You're pretty in case you haven't noticed Miss Tay." He grinned again a he thought about the fact that very soon, he wouldn't be able to call her Miss Tay anymore because her name would be Smith. Matching his. That warmed his heart as well.

Seraph rolled her eyes at him; leaning forward so she could lightly kiss his nose. “Aww shucks Edward, you’re making me blush.” She released his hands slowly, her lips curving into a wide and knowing smile. “You know, you’re not going to be able to call me that in three weeks. I’ll be Mrs. Smith then.” She bit her bottom lip to keep from giggling. For some reason, it made her sound so old.
She moved closer to him, resting her cheek against his chest. The events of the day had gotten her drained and she couldn’t help but close her eyes and sigh softly. “I don’t think we’re going to get anything done today; wedding-wise anyway.” To be honest, she was perfectly content to stay there all day. “But it’s alright. I miss the old me; I think I only turn normal when Daylin’s around or during moments like these…” Ser looked up so she could meet his eyes and smiled again. “I love you Edward Smith.”

Edward smiled lightly shrugging gently, "I know, so I've got to get in all of my pent up 'Tays' before we get married," he said lightly. Kissing her on the forehead before smiling as she set her head on his chest he just sat there for a while, letting them just chill out in the aura of their make up and it felt good. Way more calm than when she was planning the wedding. He smiled lightly, "I think maybe it'll go back to normal after the wedding is done and you stop stressing over it." He kissed her hair gently before he looked down at her, "I love you too, Ser."

Seraph laughed and shook her head. “Okay, then go ahead and get it out of your system. You have a lifetime worth of Ms. Tays to get out of your system.” She closed her eyes; lightly reaching for his hand and thinking about all the moments that she would have with him that were exactly like this. She knew fights weren’t something they could avoid but she was hopeful that their make-ups would always be likes this or even better. She put her hand in his and squeezed. “Mmm, then can we please get married like tomorrow? I don’t want to be this crazy planner anymore. It takes way too much energy and it makes me feel so guilty at the end of every day.”
