Seraph muttered incoherently to herself as she spread the plans for the wedding on the coffee table in the living room. It seemed like only yesterday when Edward proposed but as she looked at the calendar on the wall and gnawed on her bottom lip, she knew that wasn’t the case at all. She only had a few more weeks to plan everything and though her family (especially her mother) and Edward and his family were very supportive and did as much as they could, she was still on the fritz about everything. Which she hated. Long ago, she had promised to herself that she would never be one of those crazy bride-to-be’s who spazzed over every single thing. Bridezillas, they were called; well she wasn’t going to be one! But now that the date of their impending nuptials came closer with each passing day, she was starting to grow horns and her teeth were getting sharper; metaphorically speaking of course.
To her guilt, even Edward had come to be on the receiving end of her ire and she’d crawl to their bed sobbing apologies every night and he’d simply hold her, chuckle and say it was okay. For some reason, his kindness and understanding just made her feel worse. The only ray of sunshine in her life seemed to be Daylin who could walk into a room and calm her down instantly. It was amazing whatever power that girl had over her and she was thankful. She took a look at the small guest list they had, checking off those who had RSVP-ed and encircling the names of those who had not yet responded.
Ser put her elbow on the coffee table and slumped into the palm of her hand, her eyes drooping slightly as she sighed. It really was exhausting, planning a wedding and going to school at the same time. She was glad she had a bit of a break to focus on the wedding without having to worry about project deadlines and exams.

Edward had gone to drop Daylin off at school. He was off work today and had already promised Seraph that he would help her with whatever planning she had left. She seemed to be quite frazzled about it even though he was sure that she had almost all of it ready. It seemed a bit eccentric to him, but he wouldn't tell her that. He would nod and smile because he was really trying hard not to get on her nerves in the past few weeks. He was just happy that this wedding was finally happening. The months had seemed to pass so slowly, but now that it was almost here, it seemed like just yesterday that he'd asked her to move in and be his wife. So quickly, yet it seemed like ages.
He got back to the apartment and he tossed his keys into the bowl on the pass-through and walked back into the living room. "What have you got today," he asked lightly, sitting down on the couch bahind where she was sitting on the floor. She seemed even more frazzled than she had been before he left. Then again, Daylin had been with them and the little girl always seemed to put her at ease moreso than anyone else. He let his strong arms wrap around her shoulders, hoping to get her to chill out a little bit. His efforts were typically useless, however.

Seraph was just about ready to nod off when she heard the door open and she turned around to see Edward tossing his keys into the bowl before walking up to her. "Hey, I was just checking who didn't RSVP and then I can start making the place seatings for the reception. It's not like we invited a lot of people anyway." Which she was thankful for. If she could, she would have had just her and her family and Edward's family at the wedding but her mom had insisted. She groaned at the thought but said nothing. Edward wrapped his arms around her and she turned to meet his gaze, smiling a bit. "You here to help Eddy?"

Edward looked down at the list that was laying in front of her and nodded. He wasn't entirely sure why they needed to tell people where to sit, but it wasn't a big deal, so he didn't say anything about it. His motto right now was don't make a comment if it's not a big deal. It wasn't a big deal for her to be planning the place settings, so he wouldn't say anything. He shook his head, "No, not that many. I forgot to tell you that Bo, Tad, Cason and Axle are going to come, and I guess Tad will probably bring his fiance and her son. Although, I guess Bo turned in his card cause you've already got him marked down. He wasn't great friends with them, but they'd all had dinner a few times and they wanted to come to the wedding. It was mostly family, at least it looked that way. "Is anyone from the Philippines going to be coming?" he asked lightly, just wondering, really. He hadn't met any of her family from over there. The only family he had coming in from far away were his mother's parents. He kissed her forehead as she asked if he was there to help. He nodded gently, "Yeah, I can help. I can serve as a small distraction too, if necessary. Or if I'm getting on your nerves you can kick me out, but I'll warn you, if I get kicked out, I'm just going to play X-Box at Tad's. I will get zero accomplished."

[ OMG. I swear I replied to this. I'm so sad it didn't post. ] She twisted in his arms so that she could full face Edward; her frown of disapproval was evident as she bit her bottom lip. Ser had known that Bo was coming but was definitely not informed about Tad and his fiancé and his kid coming. “You need to tell me about who you invite Ed. I mean, I know you left the planning to me but you have to help me out.” To be honest, it wouldn’t have been such a big deal. She just felt so stressed out that she felt like making a big deal out of it. She was just tempted to pick a fight and Edward clearly presented her with an opportunity. Seraph wriggled out of his embrace and went back to her seat by the floor, crossing her legs and scribbling in Tad +2 on her list. She added his name to the seating chart and placed him with Bo and their other band friends before moving on to some other things. The dresses needed a final fitting; she was secretly giddy at the thought of her wedding dress. She hadn’t liked it at first, telling her mother that simple would have been so much better. But it was so decadent; it made her feel like a princess. She ran a hand through her messy hair and turned slightly to see if Edward was still there; she knew it was mean of her to ignore him but for some reason, the slight mistake made her get so angry at him. She had a feeling that was just the stress but still.

Edward sighed as she apprehended him. He shook his head lightly and then rolled his eyes after she had removed herself from his embrace. It wasn't like she hadn't planned for that many extra people anyway and he remembered telling her that he had invited them. He leaned back into the couch a little bit agitated at her for this but he spoke in a slow, even tone when he said, "I did tell you I invited them. They just didn't get their invitation and had no way of mailing it back. In all honesty I hadn't seen any of them until today. Molly told me they were all planning on coming at the school when I dropped Daylin off."
He felt bad for trying to defend himself when he could have just kept his mouth shut. This could end up in a fight and they really shouldn't be fighting three weeks before their wedding. He crossed his arms as he sat on the couch. He wasn't going to leave, but he wasn't going to be helpful if she was just going to get mad at him. He closed his eyes and let his head face the ceiling. It was going to be a long three weeks.

She made that face again as she glanced at him. “If you had told me, then I’m sure I would have sent the invitation to them just like the rest of them. But I didn’t; doesn’t that imply that you didn’t tell me or put them on your list?” Ser made a noise with her tongue before turning back to her work; she needed to call the tailor to schedule the final fitting and then schedule it with her entourage so they could all get it done together. She frowned a bit again, this time more at herself than at the awkward conversation taking place in their living room. She and Edward had wanted such a simple wedding at the beach with her family and his; to say her vows and become his wife with the ocean and the sunset painted across the sky as the backdrop to the occasion. Though they were still getting married at the beach, it seemed like such a bigger affair now and she wasn’t so sure she wanted it to be that way. She wonder if that was why she had been so cranky lately; sure she was nervous about it but it didn’t mean she had to get mad at everyone especially at her soon-to-be husband right?

Edward groaned, more to himself, because he would probably get in trouble for making that noise too. He wished Daylin wouldn't have had school because she would have been much calmer if the little girl were around. "Fine, whatever, I didn't tell you but it's just a few extra. I'm sorry for being helpful," he snapped without meaning to. He stood up from the couch and walked into the kitchen to get himself something to drink. He pulled a beer out of the fridge and popped it open, hoping the small amount of alcohol would chill him out just a bit. He would only drink one, he needed to be okay to drive for when he went to pick Daylin up. Maybe two. He stepped back into the main room of the apartment and sat on the couch again, but this time on the end instead of right behind her. He didn't want to give her any more reason to get mad at him, although the beer could prove to be ammunition enough.

She scoffed at his excuse. “Come on Ed, you know we’re working on a budget and I would really love to not stress about ‘a few extra people’ when we’re getting married.” Ser was starting to seethe and the fact that he had walked out on her made her even angrier. The nerve of the man! She glared at him when he did come back to sit at the end of the couch. Seraph noticed the beer in his hands but ignored him and pretended to focus on her work. She only needed a little more prep and everything would be perfect. The cake was designed and ordered, decorations and flowers would need to be followed up on but she had left that task to her sister and her mother and she was sure with them at the helm, everything would turn out grandly.
“You could have just apologized instead you know.” Silence fell between them, “You better not drink any more than that. You’re still picking up Daylin later.” She added as an afterthought.

He didn't want to do this, not right now. "A few extra people who are also my friends, it shouldn't be that big a deal. We've planned for at least ten people who didn't R.S.V.P. so why does it even matter?" He took a swig of his drink. He really should just shut up, but something was making him keep speaking. He glanced over at her and decided to keep his mouth shut. It would be better for everyone, but then she said something about Daylin and he rolled his eyes again, "Yeah, Ser, because I would put my daughter in danger because I'm getting a little agravated." That really bugged him for some reason and he couldn't shake it. "God, seriously? Do you think I would get drunk and then go pick up my daughter? Give me a little more credit."

She couldn’t help it; she quirked a brow at him, as if threatening him to keep going. “Those ten extra RSVPs are for people who aren’t sure of coming. Not for people I didn’t know were coming at all! Jesus Ed, they’re my friends too. It’s not like I’m ostracizing them or anything.” Seraph turned to look back at her papers, not wanting to get into a glaring match with Edward. But then again, he did make it seem so tempting. Once she had looked at her notes however, the words and plans all began to blur. She couldn’t make sense of a thing and she knew it was because she was so mad. She arranged them all and stacked them into a pile before standing, not wanting to blow up the argument. But he had to speak again…
“Oh my god. I didn’t even say that Ed! You’re putting words in my mouth!” One hand was poised on her hip as she turned to glare daggers at him. “Did I say you were getting drunk? I just said to be careful. Christ, when did me worrying about you ever become an implication of you being unable to take care of your daughter?” She shuddered and closed her eyes, feeling the onset of a migraine coming on. Seraph didn’t usually like to yell but she was just getting started.

"Fine, I'm wrong, I get it," he said looking up at the ceiling. He didn't want to do this anymore. He didnt want to plan, he wished he would have gone to work instead of telling her that he'd stay home and help today. It would have saved them a lot of energy. He looked at her and shook his head, "It was implied! 'Remember you have to pick Daylin up' implies that you think I forgot which means I'm obviously a bad father." He was blowing it a bit out of proportion, but if there was one thing he absolutely hated it was when people tried to remind him that he had a daughter as if he had magically forgotten that she existed. Maybe that wasn't what they meant, but that was how it felt to him. His mother had stopped doing it a long time ago, because she knew he couldn't stand it, but he wasn't sure if Seraphim knew or not. It didn't matter though because it was out there now.

A vague, frustrated shriek escaped her lips as she closed her eyes and tried counting to ten. She only reached five and she had already given up on calming down. "Edward, what?" She couldn't even put words into her mouth now, let alone articulate them. She was just so annoyed and losing patience fast. A rough, almost angry laugh left her mouth as she shook her head in disbelief. "God, I can't even..." She looked at him, angry and hurt and just plain annoyed as she raised her hands in surrender. "I just can't." Seraph picked up her things from the coffee table, pocketing her phone before turning on her back and walking into their room. She didn't care; either she was sleeping in her old room at Seaview or he was taking the couch.
Seraph locked the door and leaned against it, taking deep calming breaths. They weren't helping. She opened her eyes, bit her bottom lip and sighed as she slowly slid against the door, her butt landing on the plush carpet as she rested her head against the door again. "I hate this."

He didn't respond as she left the living room and locked herself in their bedroom. It wouldn't do any good anyway. She probably didn't know that she would be insulting him so badly but at the moment he felt so hurt that he couldn't even think about that. He finished off his beer and walked back to the kitchen. He tossed the glass bottle into the trash can and let out an exasperated yell. He didn't want to fight with her, but he was not ready to get over this yet. He decided to take a shower, he hadn't done so yet. He tuned on the water, got undressed and got in. He couldn't figure out why he was so agitated with her right now. He let the water run down his body as he tried to calm down. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. He groaned lightly and then started to shampoo his hair.

Seraph had her eyes closed, still taking deep breaths to see if that would help in anyway to calm down. She heard Edward yell and it made her jump and cringe. Obviously she wasn't someone who stayed mad long; she could already feel the guilt seep into her pores, spread through her body and leave her feeling completely rotten.
Silence fell over the apartment and she felt her heart sink; thinking Edward had left the apartment all together. Ser heaved a soft sigh of relief however when she heard the shower turn on. She was tempted to get in; she actually stood to do just that; but her pride made her stop and hesitate.
