Gracie giggled and rolled her eyes playfully, "Well, I'm glad you finally figured it out." She smiled as he got down to talk to her stomach and giggled at what he said and shook her head as he stood back up, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Ave, what if the baby's a girl?" she asked. "Because you just encouraged her to like girls now, you're going to confuse our baby's sexual orientation before she's even come out of the womb," she said with a giggle. She smiled in his kiss and raised a brow at his words. "What's different?"

Avery rolled his neck as if he were annoyed. "It's not going to be a girl." He kissed her lips and lead her over to her bed. "There are way too many boys in my family for the little tyke in there to be a girl and you have a brother, so..." He was satisfied that he'd won this war. "I don't think I've caused any damage." He kissed her lips again, then her neck gently. "Your room is different." He bowed his head. "Yeah, I know cause we all moved..."

Gracie smiled, "I don't know... I mean, the gender chromosome is yours, so that might be true that we're more likely to have a boy, but I think that it could still be a girl," she said with a smile on her face. "You know, they say it takes more of a man to create a baby girl..." She giggled at his answer to his question and shook her head lightly, "Babe, you were in here the other day and you didn't say anything about my room being different..."

Avery made a face at her. "You want a girl?" He was teasing her, in all honesty a boy would be great, but a girl would be just as loved and adored. "But girl's are icky and gross." He kissed her again. "A girl would suit me well." He looked around her room and shrugged. "I think I'm losing my mind. You sure I was in here the other day?"

Gracie grinned, "Well, sure, why not?" she asked with a grin. "It would be nice to have a little girl. She could bake cookies with me and we could make dinner together and she could wear pretty dresses," she said with a grin. "Girls aren't icky! I'll have you know, I'm a girl and I'm not icky and gross," she said with a grin. She smiled at his last statement and nodded, "Thats what I was thinking..." She let out another giggle rolling her eyes playfully. "One hundred percent."

Avery looked around the room and shook his head. "Then it's official, I've lost my mind, I'll have to get myself certified and then the Air Force will have to let me stay home." He grinned. "Alright so girl's aren't icky or gross." He groaned. "I just want a boy." He buried his face in her bed sheets, then sat up and crawled over to her belly. "A boy would keep me sane." He kissed her belly. "Hey in there, you promise me you'll grow up and be as beautiful as your mother, but you can't be anything like us you hear? No breaking into beach houses, no climbing through bedroom windows, none of that." He kissed her belly again and turned his head to rest it there. "I can't believe it. I'm going to miss your belly getting really big and holding her, by the time I get home she'll be so big she won't want to be held."

Gracie giggled and shook her head a little, "Yeah, but if you do that then how are we gonna finish paying for this house you keep promising me?" she asked with another laugh. She giggled again as he crawled over to her stomach, "I think you'd be cute with a little baby girl," she said, pushing a hand through his hair. She listened to him talk to their baby and giggled, "Oh, god I didn't think about that, I hope she doesn't do anything we do," she said in a scared tone. "Well I'm already probably a month along, so you'll see me at six months and I'll have gotten a little bigger by then," she said with a smile. She shook her head, "No, she'll want to be held. She'll love you. I promise."

Avery raised an eyebrow. "I hope you're right momma." He closed his eyes and massaged her belly with his hand. "I'm not going to want to put you down, and you'll be this little toddler, toddling around with some doll and when I want you, you'll call for your momma, tell her, tell your mom that's what's going to happen." He sighed, he was trying to make light of this to make him feel better about it, but it was only making him feel worse, he'd never put much thought into having kids, he knew he wanted them, but not much more than that and now he knew he would have preferred the have a baby when he could be there for it all.

Gracie smiled at him as he spoke to the baby again, but sighed as he said that their daughter would call for her. She knew that that would probably be very true, but on the other hand, while she was growing she would show her pictures of her father and she would know exactly who he was and that he loved her. She thought of something then and looked down at her boyfriend, "Avery, didn't you say before that while you're in tech school you'll be able to do video chats on your laptop? And you'll get to see me at your basic training graduation right? I'm allowed to go to that, right? So you'll get to see me fat pregnant too..." She was trying to cheer him up, but didn't know how well it would work.

Avery nodded. "Yeah I did." It made him feel a little better at least he could talk through a video chat to their child, but it still wasn't the same as being there and holding him or her. "I'll just have to talk a lot to him or her while I'm at tech school and then talk non stop so he or she will recognize me." This sucked, he wouldn't have signed up for the air force so soon if he'd known he'd be expecting a child a few months after graduation. "Maybe they'll let me come home for the birth, I'll have to look into that." He turned his head so he could look at Gracie. "God I hope so. I want to hold him or her while she or he is little, little."

Gracie's face lit up just a little when he said that he'd said that. She thought she remembered that information and hadn't just dreamed it. She nodded at his statement. "Yeah, we'll talk to you all the time. Any time you're free, I promise." She smiled. "Our baby will recognize you. I promise. I'll make sure of it." She ran a hand through his hair again and licked her lips. She or he might mistake him for Monte, but eventually they'd understand that he was his or her daddy, not uncle. She nodded at his statements. "Maybe they will. Maybe you'll be able to get a pass to leave during the birth so you can hold her and be there with me..."

Avery kissed her belly. "I'm going to go home and do some research, maybe call my recruiter and ask him what I can do. I know I'm allowed a phone and an Mp3 player in my dorm during nonduty hours, so I don't know if that'll be of any use to us, but I'll call you as often as I can." He kissed her belly. He wasn't even thinking about how his own child might confuse him for his brother, but it would probably cross his mind later. "I'll let you know."

Gracie nodded lightly as he told her what he would do. She had expected that, but she wanted an answer now. She didn't really want to wait. She ran her hand through his hair again and nodded. "Alright," she said. "Ave, before you go... You never really told me what happened at your house. You were so worried about my mom that you didn't tell me about yours..."

Avery lifted his head and shrugged. "She asked me why I did it to her and then said I could have been with anyone and why I had to pick you." He frowned. "She said I could have had any girl or Sara and then she left the room." He couldn't remember if that was the exact order, the night just seemed so jumbled. "She doesn't know what Sara did, but she knows something happened because I didn't go to the funeral, so it wasn't nice of her to bring Sara up and she knew it." He ran his hand through his own hair. "She'll get one look at that sonogram picture and her heart will melt, I'm not at all worried about her."

Gracie nodded as she listened. It didn't really sound pleasant, and then when he told her what his mother had said about Sara she licked her lips and looked away from him. That wasn't exactly fair of his mother to say. She probably had only said that because she was angry, but still. Why would she like Sara and not her? Did it have to do with money? Or was it just because she'd been the one that had actually stolen her son away, even though she knew that she hadn't. She looked back down at him and nodded with a smile with his sonogram comment. She wasn't really worried about his mom loving the baby either, she just hoped she could find it somewhere in her heart not to hate her. I just want her to accept me, she thought, but didn't share with him. "Well I'm glad you aren't worried, that makes this whole thing a lot easier..."
