Kalani nodded and went up to the counter, glad he didn't have to look at Mia at that moment. He stole a couple glances at the girl beside him, making sure to hide himself with his hair. After buying the game, he waited until they were back in the mall before clearing his throat, "So... now what should we do?" He asked, moreso trying to start up a new conversation instead of letting it remain awkward.

By the time Kalani had finished paying for his game, Mia's cheeks had cooled down and were their usual pale color. She offered him a tiny smile and shrugged as they exited the store. "Well what do you feel like doing? We could keep walking around if you want; I'm kind of apathetic when it comes to the mall, especially since I already went to the bookstore before we met and we both already got a drink." Mia laughed softly and hoped Kai didn't feel awkward around her; yes the previous scene was a bit embarrassing but she liked him and hoped that they'd at least be friends.

Kalani nodded, "yeah, I've completed my goals for coming to the mall, also." He said with a laugh, then, slightly embarrassed, added, "I don't normally go out much... I have no outdoor hobbies." He looked around at the various clothing stores, uninterested. "What about leaving the mall and going elsewhere?" He suggested.

Mia laughed and smiled at him. "Don't worry, neither do I. Well, I do have the habit of walking around when I can't think of anything else to do... But that doesn't happen very often." She scrunched up her nose as she tried to think of the last time she had been desperate enough to do something that she had gone out and taken a walk. She couldn't remember, and she wasn't that surprised. Mia did have the habit of going out for walks when there was nothing to be done, but she always had a project, assignment, or topic to study for that would catch her attention before she could even step outside of the house. "Sure, we can try the park if you like."

Kalani nodded, "That sounds nice. Let's go to the park." He agreed with a grin. After a few seconds, he tilting his head to the side slightly and asked, "Is the park nice here? I mean, does it have a ton of stuff for people of all ages or is it just a place to walk around?" He sighed, "That sounded less weird in my head."

Mia nodded when Kai relented to her proposition. "Okay, cool then." They started to make their way out of the mall; it was easily done since they were near an exit anyway. She turned to grin at him. "I think one of the best things I like about the park is that it's big and there's so much you can do..." She trailed off as she thought about the splash park she had passed by before and the swings that the kids had been crowding around and the duck pond that she knew Aya had the habit of running around. "I don't really do much when I'm at the park though... I'm more of a walk-around type girl anyway."

Kalani nodded, "I'm down with that." He said, trying to regain the "cool" he had lost in his previous ramblings. "So it's big, huh? That's awesome. I can make note of what to do next time I get kicked out of the house." He said lightly, jokingly. The coffee was finally starting to kick in, and he was feeling more awake than before, giving him more energy for something simple like walking through a park with a pretty girl.

They arrived at the park sooner than she expected and soon they were walking along the shaded paths of the park. "So do you stay at home most of the time?" Mia had the habit of staying at home to read or study or just work in general and she had the feeling that Kai did the same. Not to study or read but to play his video games that seemed to be a very important part of his life. "So what's your favorite video game?"

Kalani nodded, looking to the sky through the tree branches as e thought about his favorite video games. "That's hard... But maybe an old school one, like Super Mario or Sonic the Hedgehog." He replied. "Not that I have either of those games, but I played them before and totally dig the classic stuff." He was about to ask her favorite game, then remembered she mentioned shs didn't play much. "You said you like reading, right? What's your favorite book?" He would sometims give his eyes a break from a screen, and that was when he'd read a lot of books about Japan; showing a slight favoritism towards half his heritage.
