Xander nodded in agreement. "Well, I couldn't put Alex Burkeheart because it'd get my sister and I confused. And nobody knows me as Nick and I'd probably die if someone called me that." He set the mug down, knowing that if he didn't he'd probably end up licking at the last remaining drops of his coffee. Refill. Later. "Well I have three siblings. My twin, Alex... And then Joseph, who we call Seph, and Jackie; she's our half-sister. Alex and I are the eldest. And Seph and Jackie are the same age... 17. Do you have any siblings?"
He laughed and shook his head at her question. "No, we aren't... Not really anyway. We live with my godmother who moved here with her family because of the hurricane. Our parents died in a car accident and so we moved here because our parents decided to leave us with her. It's not bad actually... We're really quite close with the Tays."

Collins took it all in, it would be better for her if she took notes, but for now only a mental note would have to suffice. "No, siblings. I have two cousins. Garret and Grady Walker, they literally live a house down from me, so it's like having two brothers. Garret is exactly one month older than me and Grady is a year younger, sixteen. He'll be seventeen in May. So technically you are refugees from the hurricane. Unless you didn't live with the Tays until after the hurricane occurred."

He grinned. "Like brothers huh? That's always nice; I considered my family big before my parents died and now that I live with the Tays and the rest of their extended family, it's huge. I like it though." Xander paused to run a hand through his hair. "So you're 17 then? And well my parents died about a week ago so no... We aren't refugees. We just moved to this town a couple of days ago actually." He was surprised at himself that he could admit that his parents had died without feeling choked up about it. He missed them terribly and wished they were still alive but some part of him knew this was something he could never change and he had to let go.

Collins blushed, she'd completely ignored his comment before about his parents dying, how inconsiderate of her. "I'm sorry." And now that she was thinking it all over, the word 'refugee's' sounded so awful. "You'll have to excuse me, I tend to over look small details in conversation." Great, now you're saying his parents' deaths are small details. "Though I suppose this isn't really a small detail, it's massive and I'm not helping myself at all." She picked up her empty coffee cup and wished there was more inside. "Would you like a refill? I need one and I don't mind buying." She didn't, in fact, she preferred to pay.

His smile widened a fraction. "It's alright Collins, I'm surprised I haven't done anything to make you laugh at me yet. I'm usually really good at embarrassing myself when I'm with a pretty girl." Xander blinked and his cheeks flushed, only realizing what he had been blubbering about. "There you go, embarrassed myself too. We're even." Xander stood up when she offered to buy him coffee. "No way. I'm the guy, I should be the one buying for you." If his father had taught him anything, it had been to be a gentleman and to be chivalrous. And though it sounded silly and backward, he stood by it; when his father explained it, it made sense.

Collins blushed at his statement, but shook her head. "I don't think that counts as a form of embarrassment I mean if you think I'm pretty and everyone around you agrees what is there to be embarrassed about?" She looked around the small booth. "I agree and there is no one else around so it's more like flattery." He stood to offer to pay and she grinned. "I was sure chilavery was dead." She shook her head regardless. "I would really rather pay though.." She tilted her head, he was so handsome so she decided to compromise. "How about if I buy this one." She put her hand on his arm trying to guide him back into his seat. "And you get the next one." She checked her watch. "I don't have anywhere to be for the rest of the night."

Xander had to smile at her response and shook her head; she really was different from all the other girls he had met. "Well then, we agree about it; you'll just have to wait for another time when I can thoroughly embarrass myself. It won't be a long wait, I assure you." He shook his head at her. "Chivalry isn't dead, not yet anyway." He watched her and wasn't sure if no was an option anymore. It seemed like he would always want to say yes to Collins. "Alright then, I'm free for the entire night too. You're probably the first person I've met in Riverside, actually."

Collins grinned, she wanted this perfect stranger to embarrass himself in front of her just once so she wouldn't feel so idiotic, but then again she didn't want him to, just because he seemed like the type who wouldn't be able to brush it off very easily and bounce back. "I'm pleased to hear chivalry isn't dead and equally pleased that you have an entirely free night too." She glanced at his empty coffee mug and then at him. "Let me guess...cafe latte with a shot of expresso?"

He smiled at her. "Well when I'm around, you'll be pleased to know that I'll stand at attention and wait till you're seated... And all of the cheesy chivalrous stuff you can imagine.", Xander chuckled and admitted gladly to him self that it was perfect luck that he had met Jordan Olive Collins. Xander gaped at her for a second before laughing. "I'm impressed Collins, I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship." The boy stepped back to let her order for them as he took his seat again and looked at the table, thinking about his dumb luck to have met such a cool girl.
Alexandre shrugged out of his jacket, as he was fully warmed up, and straightened the emerald green long sleeved shirt he had been wearing underneath. He then put his elbow on the table and nestled his chin on the palm of his hand, just looking at Collins by the counter.

Collins laughed. "Well I shall take it as a new experience then, because I have never had such chivalrous acts acted out in front of me before." She winked as he said he was impressed, she didn't want to tell him that she'd once worked in a coffee shop in an amusement park, which was why she knew exactly what he was drinking. She ordered their refills and returned to his table, also in awe of this guy and her luck. "The only thing I must ask you not to be so chivalrous about is the paying for everything. Everything else sounds grand." She lifted her refilled coffee to her mouth and admired him over the brim. He looked really good in green, it brought out his blue??? eyes. "So your eighteen, are you still by chance a Senior in high school or are you attending the university?" Not that it mattered, Chelsea was dating an almost 21 year old, she could date an eighteen year old without it being frowned upon.

Xander almost moaned at the scent of coffee and received his cup from Collins with a murmured thanks. "Well, I'm pretty sure we can do a bit of negotiating. Being gentlemanly was something my dad always ingrained in me and my younger brother. I mean, Seph is an ass but he still acts like a gentleman... Does the walking little ladies across the street and standing when a lady is present, opening doors for people. But he glares.", he chuckled as he remembered his younger brother who he was actually pretty close with. He raised a curious brow at the way Collins was looking at him but paid her no mind. "Applying at the University actually. Business management and foreign studies. My dad left me to handle his company and though I know a bit about business, I want... need to learn more to make sure I can handle everything." His father had bequeathed him the ownership of a company he had owned back home, and it was now being run by the vice president, waiting for him to graduate to hand over the reigns to him. "What about you? What are you planning to take?"

Collins dropped her gaze to the swirling coffee. "I am still a Senior at Riverside high, graduating in May though." She shrugged and set her cup down. "But, I'm proud to report that when I do graduate I'll be enrolling at Riverside University in the education department. Elementary education, I want to be a kindergarten teacher." She shrugged. "My favorite movie growing up as a kid was Matilda and I loved Miss. Honey." She shrugged again. "She wasn't a kindergarten teacher or anything, but she's kind of my inspiration. So where exactly is this company your dad left you?"

Xander grinned at her. "Yeah I know that movie. Having sisters means you have to watch the movies they want too, even if you hated it. I remember Ms. Honey though; she was the kind of teacher everyone wanted, including me. It's good to know that the future generation will have a teacher like you Collins, can't wait to see that." He sipped at his coffee and sighed in relish; to him, this was the perfect end to his day: good coffee with a great friend. He glanced at her, blue eyes sparkling. "Well, it's funny really; my mom met my godmother in the Philippines; where they were raised. They went to school together. But as soon as she graduated, she and my dad started moving around a lot. They loved Europe and had always planned to live there but couldn't decide where to stay so they moved from place to place. Mom said, Alex and I were conceived in Italy actually.", he laughed at the memory and took another sip. "Sorry, rambling... I know. Well, when we were born, they decided to settle down in France since they found out my mom was pregnant with Seph. My dad got bored so he decided to make a little business, made a company that supplied hard to get ingredients for restaurants in Italy. It's a small place but it does quite well for itself. So anyway, that's the whole thing. I think I said too much though, you just asked where it was.", he laughed, "Italy would be the short answer to your question, sorry."

Collins smiled. "I don't mind that you told me the ling version. It's actuallybetter that you dud. Fewer questions I have to ask." She sipped on her drink, she supposed he'd be moving to Italy then. It might be hard for him to run it from here. This made her a bit sad, sure she just met him and there really wasn't even a small hint that they might become more than just friends but she could dream right? "Are you excited about moving back to Europe?"

He scrunched up his nose at her question and shook her head. "Honestly? Not really; I want to make sure that his business continues to flourish and Europe is quite a lovely place but I'm tired of moving around. I want to stay in one place for more than a year and Riverside is providing me with that opportunity; to study at a university for 4 years? Probably the longest time my family's ever stayed in one place at a time." Xander took a long drink of his coffee, before putting down the still warm mug, meeting Collin's eyes. "Besides, that decision is still far off; I'll cross that bridge when I get there."
He regarded Collins for a bit longer, silent, not really knowing what to say. Xander was pleased with himself for not staying tight-lipped with Collins; he had even explained most of his family history which wasn't a common thing for him. "Where are you planning to teach?"
