Summer glanced up him, feeling bad. "U-uh, two is f-fine." She sat up slowly, her stomach feeling a little less choppy. "Perrin? I'm sorry..." Summer bit her lip. She knew she hadn't been very good company for him, and wondered why he still wanted her around.

"Hmm?" He asked, seeming to spin around from his spot by the chicken. "Why are you sorry?" He asked her, eyebrows furrowed. He couldn't think of anything she should be sorry about, so why was she apologizing? Did she have to leave suddenly or something?

Summer lowered her eyes, biting her lip. "B-because, I haven't been v-very good company..." It didn't really occur to her that she could be being hard on herself, but she'd already made up in her mind that she'd been sucky company.

Perrin shook his head vigorously. "No, you've been great company! I like just able to... spend time with you..." He ended up muttering the last part, a faint blush covering his cheeks.

"O-oh..." Summer gave a small smile, her blush deepening. She kept her eyes on the table as she traced the table lightly with her finger. "I like spending time with you too." She whispered, biting her lip and looking up at him.

Perrin returned to putting chicken on their plates. Thinking about it, he had liked spending time with Summer since they first met. Even though she was a naturally shy person, something about her comforted him, and often times when they were apart he found himself thinking about her. As he walked over to the table, his heart began to pound, he had an idea, and he could only hope he didn't scare her half to death or chase her away. He set the plates on the table and then gently brought his hand to her chin, lifting her face gently, biting his lip slightly before saying, "I really like you, actually." He leaned forward slowly, placing a quick, light kiss on her lips. After doing so, he sat down determinedly staring at his plate as if it would hop into his mouth for him.

Summer kept her eyes focused on the table, so it startled her when Perrin lifted her face. Her heart was now trying to jump out of her chest, likewise her face was working on burning her alive. Of course she didn't have to worry about the pounding for very long, as she felt her heart stop when Perrin's mouth connected with hers, even though it was a very brief kiss. Summer simply stared at Perrin when he sat down, her hand touching her lips lightly. She couldn't say anything, even if she tried all that would come out would be jibberish. Of course now her stomach was being fluttery again, except this time she didn't feel like she would be sick. Summer opened her mouth to talk before promptly shutting it again, biting her bottom lip instead. She lowered her gaze to the plate in front of her, his confession just then sinking in. "Y-you like me?" She finally gasped, heart pounding once again. "I-I..."

Perrin kept his eyes focused on the table, nodding slowly and seeming almost robotic as he bit his lip, wondering what possessed him to get the courage to even think of doing something like that, let alone actually doing it.

Summer took a deep breath before muttering out, rather quickly, "Ireallylikeyoutoo." Somehow confessing that, and knowing he liked her as well helped to calm her nerves, if only a little. She bit her lip, slowly lowering her hand and silently wishing he would kiss her again.

Perrin let a smile break onto his face, hearing those words, even sped up like that, made him really happy. Worried he'd make her explode or something from kissing her lips again, he took her hand, giving her a light kiss on the hand. "Then... would you be my girlfriend?" He asked her, feeling more confident but still nervous.

Summer looked up at Perrin, still biting her lip even though a tiny smile peaked through, especially when he kissed her hand. For some reason she felt all giddy all of a sudden. At his question, Summer nodded, afraid that if she tried to talk it would just come out a stuttered mess.

Perrin smiled, then gently let go of her hand and looked to his food. "I think we should eat..." He said, not sure if the chicken would be enough to feed all the butterflies in his stomach as well. He couldn't stop the smile as he did everything. Eating... As boyfriend and girlfriend. I'll take her home... as boyfriend and girlfriend. Should I kiss her when we say goodbye, then? His mind wandered, not even really noticing he was eating as he absentmindedly munched on the chicken.

"O-oh, right." Summer had completely forgotten about the food, but now that he'd said something her stomach began growling. She began picking at the chicken, more focused on her thoughts than the actual food. We're boyfriend and girlfriend now. Wait! We're boyfriend and girlfriend now, my siblings are never going to believe me. I'm not sure if I believe it. I hope I don't drive him away...

After they both finished, Perrin took the dishes to the sink, packing the remaining chicken and putting it in the fridge, knowing Enzo would be happy to see it when he was searching for dinner. He placed the cooking stuff in the sink as well, then turned back to Summer, a cute but silly smile on his face. "I'll do the dishes later. Should I take you home?"

"U-uh..." Summer glanced out the window to see that it was growing dark, and then checked her phone for the time. How long have I been here? My family must be worried sick. "Y-yeah, it's getting kinda late." Summer didn't really want to leave but she hadn't talked to her mom since she'd left for the lake earlier and she was never gone this long without calling someone.
