Edward smiled at his two favorite people and finished his waffles and went to pour more batter into the waffle maker so he could save them to be eaten later. He closed it and put his dish in the sink as he started cleaning the ingredients off of the counter. He glanced at Daylin who had done what she was told and started eating the waffle house in front of her. Once she had finished she lifted her arms in the air, "Finished!" she said cheerily. Edward looked at her, lifting her from her chair and setting her on the floor, "Alright, go get dressed then come out here and maybe Ser will do your hair." The little girl squealed with excitement and ran off to her room.

Ser grinned at Daylin's enthusiasm and watched the affectionate display between father and daughter. She stood and cleaned up the plates on the table before moving to the sink to help Edward clean up. "You're a good dad, you know that right Smith?" She washed the plates off at the sink, preferring to clean it by hand than use the dishwasher for some reason. She turned to face Edward, as she remembered something. "Your mom's coming here to pick up Daylin?"

Edward glanced over at Seraph and smiled at her compliment. "Thanks," he said lightly and shrugged. He wasn't ever sure if he was doing the right thing, but he did what seemed right to him, and he guessed that theory was working so far. He finished cleaning off the counter and poured the last bit of the batter into the waffle maker. He got out a plastic baggie and started to put the uneaten waffles in it to save for later. He glanced at Seraph again with her question and nodded, "Yeah, mom comes to take her every day. It started out being the days that I had to work early, but now its all the time, since she has to take Aaden to pre-school anyway, its just easier for me and she doesn't mind. Why?" he asked, looking back at her, wondering what she was thinking.

"You're welcome.", she said simply as she finished with the dishes and began to dry her hands on a hand towel. Ser moved to Edward and laughed as she put her arms around his waist, sighing softly. "You really can't guess what I'm thinking now? Very well, I'll tell you." She kissed his shoulder before sighing. "I've never met your mom before, remember?" She was pretty calm about it but her insides were freaking out on her and it was taking every ounce of courage not to run away.

Edward smiled as her arms came around his waist and moved them both over a bit as the waffle maker buzzed one last time. He continued to do what he had been before, bagging the last two waffles. "Oh yeah, you haven't," he said before he looked over at her again. "I suppose that means you want to meet her this morning then?" He smiled and let his arm slip over both of her shoulders before he kissed her forehead gently.
Daylin walked back into the kitchen at that point, dressed to impress. She had on a pink skirt with white tights and a t-shirt that said 'Princess' in rhinestones. "Ta-dah!" she said, throwing her hands up in the air. Edward turned his face and grinned at the little girl, "Breaking out the pink, huh, Day?" he asked with a grin. She nodded. "What about my hair?" she asked excitedly.

Ser laughed a bit shakily before nodding. "Yeah I would. It's a bit nerve-racking, meeting parents and stuff but I think I'd like that." She leaned into Edward and grinned, her eyes meeting his. "Oh, what are we doing today?"
Just before Edward could answer the question, however, Daylin walked into the room and Seraph could do nothing but grin. "Day, you are the cutest little girl ever!" She wanted to throw her arms around Daylin and hug her really tight but she just gave her a bright smile instead. "And I have no idea if your father is psychic or just lucky but I actually bought you something... I forgot about it last night." She detached herself from Edward and went to the living room where she had left her purse the other night. She rummaged through the black leather bag and found the small gift she had still in its clear plastic. Her mother had urged her to buy them for Daylin and with much prodding and nagging, she had finally bought the pink and purple bejeweled barrettes.
Ser found her way back to the kitchen and handed them to Daylin. "You don't have to use them, I bought them while I was away... Actually, my mom insisted I buy them for you so it's partly her gift." The barrettes had tiny images of a princess crown on them and they sparkled with stones.

Daylin nodded at Seraph's statement and looked at her father who smiled, "You did good today, Day-belle, I think this outfit is perfect." She grinned and pulled up her skirt like she was trying to curtsey which made her father chuckle lightly before his girlfriend walked back into the kitchen. Daylin saw what Seraph had in her hand and her eyes got wide, "I love that!" she said, taking the package from her. She looked up at Seraph and grinned, "I bet real princesses wear these! They've got sparkles and everything! Daddy, look!" The little girl held up the barrettes for her father to see and he smiled, "Those are pretty, Day. Why don't we open them so you can put one in your hair today," he said bending down to help her with it.

Ser grinned as she sat on one of the chairs and motioned for Daylin to come over. "Do you want to put one in your hair today? It'll be like the cherry on top, perfect match to your awesome outfit." A warmth spread from her heart to her entire being, she didn't know why but Seraph was so happy that Daylin had liked her gift; she was so happy that Daylin loved her enough to miss her and to want to spend time with her, to trust her to do her hair and eat breakfast with her. She watched the scene with Edward and Daylin and had to giggle a bit; she was very impressed at the fact that Edward could kneel down and put sparkly barrettes on his little girl; not so manly, but it took just as much courage to act that way.

Edward pulled out the barrettes from the package and looked at them, "How about the pink one, Day?" he asked. "It'll match your outfit today." Daylin nodded and he started to put it in her hair and Daylin moved and shook her head, "No!" she said, taking the barrette from him, earning her a strange look from her father, but she handed the barrette to Seraph, obviously wanting her to put it in for her. Edward laughed and shook his head lightly. "I guess I kind of promised that you'd do her hair..."

Daylin walked over to Seraph and she blushed as she took the barrette from Daylin's small hands and smoothed out her hair before placing the sparkly clip on Daylin. She heard the tiny snap lock into place and she pulled away, smiling. "Is that good?" She had already been so ingrained in their family; being without them was no practically an impossibility for her. They were just too important to her now; just as she was a part of their family, Daylin and Edward were a part of hers.

Daylin smiled and nodded at Seraphim after the barrette was placed in her hair. "Thank you!" she said before she wrapped her hands around her neck. Edward smiled at the two girls and heard a knock on the door. "Be right back," he said before he stepped out of the kitchen and walked down the hallway to the front door. He opened it and smiled at his mom, "Hey, ma, Ser's just finishing up with getting Daylin ready. You can come in for a second." Kelli smiled and walked into the room, Aaden in her arms. "Alright, but we're running a little late. Your girlfriend's here?" Edward smiled and simply gave her a nod as he led her to the kitchen, "Here I'll get you a coffee." Daylin turned around and grinned as she saw Kelli, "Nana!" she yelled as she shot over to her grandmother, and hugged around her legs. Kelli smiled and ran her hand over the little girls legs, unable to pick her up because of the little boy in her arms already. Edward glanced over at Seraph, however, and smiled, "Mom, this is my girlfriend, Seraph." To this, Kelli smiled at the girl, "I'm so glad that I finally get to meet you, I've heard so much about you," she said, holding out her free hand for the girl to shake.

She reciprocated the little girl's hug and kissed Daylin on the cheek. "You're welcome sweetheart, now you look perfect." Ser inwardly shuddered when she heard the knock at the door. That could have only been one person and though she was excited to meet the woman who raised Edward, Ser still found it a little nerve-wracking to do the meet the parents thing so soon.
Ser watched Daylin run to her grandmother and a little of the tension she had given herself began to melt away. This wasn't going to be bad, she wasn't going to get herself barbecued. She took a deep breath before giving Kelli a smile. She walked up to her and gave her hand a shake. "It's really nice to finally meet you Mrs. Smith; you've raised a great son." She glanced at Edward quickly before returning her gaze to the older woman.

Edward had already started to pour new coffee into his mothers refillable coffee cup as they shook hands. Kelli smiled at her. "It's so nice to finally meet you, I've wanted to for a while now, but Edward said you were out of town for a while, he said it was a private matter, I hope everything is alright," she said, letting go of her hand. "It is now, ma," Edward said, so Seraph didn't have to answer that question if she didn't want to. He walked over and handed his mother her new coffee, then lifted Daylin up into his arms, "Alright, Day, who are we going to make Frieda with today?" he asked. "Kayla!" she said enthusiastically. Edward nodded, "Alright, say bye to Ser, you're gonna have to go or you'll be late," he explained, moving Closer to Seraph so Daylin could kiss her cheek.

Seraph blushed and released her hand at the same time that Edward's mom let go. "Yeah, I'll be staying put for a while now.", she said smiling as Edward picked up Daylin and reminded her to befriend Kayla. She opened her arms out so she could give Daylin a hug and a kiss. "Have fun today okay? I'll be here when you get home, so you can tell me how it went with Kayla." She lightly touched the clip in Daylin's hair. "Have a good day, okay?"

Kelli smiled at the girl, "Well I'm glad. Edward seems happier when you're here," she said, looking at her son with a proud smile. She watched the interaction between Seraph and Daylin and she knew at that moment that she was the perfect fit for the little family. Daylin smiled and nodded, "Okay. Then we can make a fort?" she asked. Edward shook his head lightly, they probably wouldn't hear the end of that until it happened. "You need to get to school, sweetheart," he said simply. Daylin nodded and Edward put her on the ground with a soft kiss to her red hair. He looked at his mom, "Thanks, mom, are you going to be able to pick up today too, or do I need to get them?" he asked, typically he didn't mind babysitting Aaden for just a bit. "Actually, could you get them today?" she asked. He nodded and she headed out the door with both children in tow.
Once they had left, Edward turned to Seraphim. "So," he started, letting his arms wrap around her waist. "I don't have to work at all today, Friday is my day off... Did you say you wanted to take another shower?" he asked. "Or maybe a bath? The bathroom in here has a really nice jacuzzi, if you noticed. I've been wanting to test it out..."
