Gracie laughed and moved along with him, being extra careful on the staircase. "Oh you think? You think every girl wants to be knocked up at seventeen? Yeah that wasn't my top priority." She shook her head, "But maybe they'd take that risk if it were you knocking them up. I mean, you're hot. You really could have that baseball team," she said with a giggle. She shook her head lightly at his words, not believing it. "I won't even like myself when I'm fat and pregnant. You're crazy. And I'm pretty sure my bed rest self will be bored and annoying."
As Monte spoke she blushed lightly, not realizing that he was in the kitchen, she let out a light giggle. She shrieked out another laugh as Avery turned her around and shook her head lightly. "I don't know, Ave, probably only while I'm giving birth. I doubt I'll hate you while I'm on bed rest… if I go on bed rest."

Avery shook his head violently. He didn't really think that any girl would throw themselves at him, it was a pretty well known fact, even here in Riverside, that he and Gracie were an item that wouldn't easily be broken apart. "I did apologize for that by the way." He mentioned. "I didn't intentionally knock you up at seventeen, it just happened." He released her and made his way to the fridge to pull out the fruits available to make a fruit salad for her. "Let's hope you don't go on bed rest, I couldn't imagine having to be in bed all day for weeks at a time." He placed strawberries, cherries, grapes, mango, oranges, and several other varieties of fruit out on the counter for her to choose from and grabbed a bowl. "So, pick your poison."

Gracie giggled again and shook her head lightly, "I know you didn't do it on purpose. I mean, I even took a pill. Your little sex cells were just too quick for that pill." She kissed him lightly on the cheek before he moved away to the fridge. She watched him as he started to set out the fruits. She walked over to where he was and looked at everything. She picked about five and set them aside, and started to open the boxes. "Do you want to eat this fruit too, or are you going to have something else?"

Avery chuckled and turned back around to grab a second bowl. "I wasn't planning on it, but now that I think about it I probably should eat something." He pulled out two spoons and passed one to Gracie, then opened one of the boxes she hadn't yet opened. "Did you want to visit your mom after breakfast?"

Gracie smiled, "Good, because the babies need food, but so do you. Especially after working out for the morning. She scrunched her nose, "Just please don't eat oatmeal, I don't think I can handle that smell..." She took the spoon from him and started to scoop some fruit into the bowl. She let out an audible sigh and nodded, "Yeah, I guess we should go tell my mom after we eat..." She hadn't really thought about that all morning, but she did want to show her sister the news, and if she was going to tell Tally, she might as well tell her mother and get it over with.

Avery started scooping some strawberries into his bowl and laughed. "I won't make oatmeal, that'd just bee too cruel." He pushed the strawberries aside and dished out some mango and kiwi and then sat down in the chair, he'd worry about cleaning up after they finished eating. "So you think telling her the news now before she goest to work will be any better than telling her later?"

Gracie finished dishing out her fruit into her bowl and sat down with him, starting to eat. She shrugged at his question, "I don't know, really. If I tell her now then she'll go to work mad or worried and will probably be in a bad mood all day, but then again, if I tell her now, she might be mad at first, but she'll cool down. She could just be happy. I wish I knew how she'd react to the news..." She sighed as she put the cherry from her fork into her mouth.

Avery chewed the strawberry and swallowed it before speaking. "Well I like the idea of her taking time to cool down better than her going off the handle on you. You don't need that crap now or at any other point in this pregnancy." He poked a piece of kiwi and shrugged. "If I had a way for you not to go through that I'd hand it over, but unfortunately it's going to take me sometime to pick and purchase the house and that's the only thing I can see that would help."

Gracie nodded, "Yeah, but I'm not entirely sure what kind of mood she's in today. If she's in a good mood, she'll be happy, I think. If she's in a bad mood, she'll either sit and brood all day, or come to her senses before she gets home." She poked another fruit, a strawberry and placed it into her mouth. She let out a sigh and nodded. "I wish we could have our own house right now too, but I don't even know if my mom would let me move out before graduation."

Avery sighed, it was always going to be a guessing game with her mother and no matter how long they waited or even if they caught her on a good day, she might still have the potential to turn around and be nasty despite her previous good mood. He didn't say anything else and continued to eat his fruit. He didn't think his mom would agree to him moving out before he graduated either, but she'd have to deal with it the closer they got to graduation and his departure. "Is she going to let you get settled into the house before I leave? I mean the babies might surprise us and arrive before I leave and they should be in the new house, plus it wouldn't make much sense for you to move into the place after I left, I want you to be comfortable living there on your own or with Tally or Monte or whoever and I can't ensure that if I'm gone." He was starting to get a bit frustrated with her mother, though he didn't state it or let it come through in his tone.

Not hearing anything different in his tone, she nodded. She thought that the babies should be somewhere stable too. She didn't want to have to move them into the new house after they were born if they happened to come before graduation. She sighed lightly again, however. She figured even if her mother didn't let her move out she wouldn't have much say in the matter. If she tried to claim that she had to come back home, she'd move for emancipation. She didn't think that she should be treated like a kid anymore if she was going to have kids of her own. "I do want to be in the house before you leave, I just think she'll take a little buttering up. I don't want to have to fight with her about it, all it does is upset me. I don't know…" She shook her head as she chewed and swallowed another piece of fruit. "I feel like she really just doesn't want me to be happy, like she wants me to fail with the baby… I mean, babies… Like she wants me to figure out that I can't do it and I need her help."

Breaking point. Frustration leaking into voice and mannerisms. "You know what as soon as I find a place and can close on it, I'm moving you in it and if she wants to be difficult about it, I'll cut her out of your life until she can act in a civil manner toward both of us." He tossed his fork into his bowl and pushed it away. "Sure we aren't the most responsible because we're pregnant at seventeen, but damn it, we're taking responsibility and I won't have her stressing you out and causing more strife in your life when I can't be around to take on the burden or give you a break with the kids. I'm going to be helpless and useless enough and you don't need this shit." He was practically fuming. "I'm going to be stressed and worried sick enough about you and the babies, I don't want to have to be worried about her too."

Gracie bit her lip and listened to every word he said. She knew that this was frustrating, but she couldn't just shut her mother out. It wasn't like she'd beat her or anything, it was just a little hard to deal with the way she acted sometimes. She nodded at him, but didn't meet his eyes, not until he'd gotten everything out. She sighed softly, "I know, Avery, I'm sorry, but I can't let you cut her out. I know that you don't like the way she is, but she'd still my mother. If we cut her out then she'll start doing what she does to me to Tally and I don't want to put that on my sister, okay?" she asked very gently, hoping she wasn't making it sound like she was annoyed because she wasn't. "And I need Tally more than ever, I don't want mom to tighten the leash on her right when I need her most." She moved her hand to cover his and shook her head, "I'll be alright. I can deal with my mom."

Avery frowned. He hated to argue with Gracie and he disagreed. He didn't want her mom to tighten the leash, per say on Tally, but if it got her off Gracie's back? He wouldn't mention this aloud of course but he felt strongly about cutting her mouth out until she could act like an adult. "Gracie, I love you. If I have to I'll take care of Tally too until she can get on her own feet, but you don't need her crap. Period."

Gracie sighed softly. "Alright, Avery. I don't want to argue about something that hasn't happened yet. We might not even have to fight with her about this, okay?" She shook her head, now she was starting to get annoyed. She knew he was worried about her, but it was her life too, they had to work together and he had to make a few compromises if he wanted everything to work. "I'm sorry, but cutting my mother out of my and the babies' lives is not an option. You've got to know that even though she's insane and a pain in the ass, she's my mother and I love her. She may not act like it but she loves me too. You have to accept that, alright?"
