Avery and Zane stood in front of the two story house, where only a couple days previously they'd stood sweating from moving everything inside and intercepting movers, painters, and everyone else under the sun who was involved in getting a home furnished and rearing to go. Avery knew Gracie would be ticked off at him for not including her in this big decision and all the other decisions he'd made regarding the house. The level of involvement he'd allowed her to have in choosing the house was slim and he felt bad for it, but he was just so busy and she was just too pregnant. He just hoped she wouldn't stay too mad at him for too long, he only had a week left before he left for basic and she didn't need the added stress.
"You going to be able to go off to basic? You've gotta be tired, all of this moving..." Avery turned and looked at Zane. "I'll be fine. There is an amazing bed in there that I can share with my girlfriend for a week before I leave." He took a deep breath. "I'm going to go get Gracie now. Thanks again for your help, thank Tally for me for keeping Gracie busy the last couple of days cause you'll probably see her before me." He patted Zane on the back and turned to his car. He pulled up in front of Gracie's place and got out of the car and went up and knocked on the door.

Gracie heard the knock and stood up with just a small amount of difficulty. She was hoping that she wouldve had the babies by now, the doctor had said they might be early but Avery only had a week left and what was she to do now? She wasn't going to try those stupid things that force labor, but she was ready to stop looking like a duck when she walked. She sighed and opened the door smiling when she saw that it had been who she was expecting. She had three suitcases packed with most of her clothes, but she didn't get any of the small things that weren't important yet. She figured she could get them later. "Hey," she said.

Avery smiled when the door opened and put an arm around her shoulder. "Hey, Gracie girl." He eyed the suitcases sitting in the background and tilted his head to the side. "Tally spoiled my secret huh?" He wasn't really upset or annoyed, it was better that she was all packed anyway, though he hoped she wasn't lifting those heavy suitcases on her own. "Zane helped me get the place all set up, you won't have to do a thing except enjoy it."

Gracie smiled and shook her head, "No, she really didn't. I mean, I figured it out. I've been packed for like a week. I have like three outfits that I've been rotating," she said with a light giggle. "I knew you wanted to move in soon. I can't wait." She grinned and picked up a suitcase along with a bag that had her bathroom necessities. She really couldn't wait to see the house that she would be living in with her two children and eventually her boyfriend and later her husband. "I honestly can't wait to see it. I just want to know what it looks like."

Avery chuckled and pressed his lips to her temple. "You're so smart." He retrieved the other suitcases and started out the door. "I hope you like the house I picked and everything else. If there's something you don't like you tell me and I'll have it changed alright." He gave her another kiss as he passed her and carried the bags down to his car, turning at the bottom of the stairs to watch her descend, praying that if she lost her balance he'd be able to drop the bags and catch her, but praying more that she didn't fall at all. "How are my girls today?" He asked.

Gracie smiled at him and shook her head lightly, "I'm sure the house will be just fine. We have the same taste in most things. We're going to have to get the box of baby stuff too, from the shower. I forgot to bring it out here, it's in my bedroom. It's just the clothes and stuff. I haven't decided what I want them to wear home yet, although I guess I have time." She sighed lightly, "Sorry, I'm rambling..." She smiled softly at his question and shook her head, "They're active," she said, putting extra emphasis on the word 'active'. "Harper's been punching Tate and I'm pretty sure she's punching right back. So if they come out black and blue you'll know why. I also can't decide which names I like more... If we do Tate I'd like to use Shane to go with it. But if we use Harper I like Devyn. I just can't decide..." She sighed lightly as she reached the car and opened the door for herself, sliding in with her big belly before she put the suitcases in the back of his car.

Avery put the suitcases in the back of his car and cane around to the passenger seat to kiss her. "You aren't rambling and even if you were I wouldn't mind." He kissed her forehead and looked back up to her apartment. "I'll just go grab that box and then I'll take you to our new home." He patted the top of his car. "We could always name one Shane Tate and the other Devyn Harper." He liked the ring it had, but he was still sold on using a variation of Cadence and Martins names, he just wasn't sure what variation. "Be right back."
He ran up to the apartment grabbed the box and was positively thankful her mom wasn't home. He still wasn't sure how she felt about him or about him moving Gracie out from underneath her roof. He shut the door behind him and without another glance back he went down to his car. He placed the box in the back seat and got in the car. "Is Tally going to come stay when I leave on the eighth or is she just going to wait until the babies get here?"

Gracie smiled softly at him as he kissed her twice, making her smile. He suggested that they use all four but she shook her head lightly, "No, I want to use Cadence and Martin still. That's the only way they'll ever get to be part of their lives," she said gently before she let him go up to the apartment again. She felt a kick and she closed her eyes, putting her hands on her stomach. She wasn't exactly comfortable, but what was she supposed to do? She let out a sigh and waited for Avery to return.
When he did come back she shook he head, "No, she'll wait until the babies come unless they put me on bedrest. Although if I've made it this far I don't think I'll be on bedrest at all..." She reached over and ran her hand through his hair, smiling softly. She was sad, that was true. He was leaving in a week. He'd be coming back, but when would that be? A year? Two? She sighed lightly and smiled at him again. At least he was there for now, and she planned to make the most out of this last week.
Before they even made it to the first cross street, though, she felt a pain run through her abdomen. "Oh, goodness," she said, putting both hands on her very pregnant belly. "Wow, that's weird..." Was she in labor? She wasn't so sure. There was no way. It passed before too long and she shook her head and blinked. Must have just been a weird kick.

Avery nodded his head. "I didn't really want to use all four either, I want Cadence and Martin in there somewhere and even if we said we'll use them the next time around, there might not be a next time, you may hate me by the time I get back." He chuckled and then the smile that had formed slipped from his face as he watched her and she made her interjections. "You alright? Harper and Devyn aren't kicking you to hard are they?" He wasn't thinking she might be going into labor, he didn't think he'd be lucky enough to get to see them before he was shipped off. "So...uh..." He glanced at her, she seemed to be fine, whatever might have been bothering her previously seemed to have passed. "Did your mom help you pack?" It was his way of asking how her mom was handling everything.

Gracie shook her head softly at his ridiculous statement, "No, I won't hate you by the time you come back, but I want to use both of them now, because even though I won't hate you, we might decide we don't want more kids." She nodded, her nose scrunched up as he asked his questions and she smiled, "I don't know, I mean, I'm fine, but somebody kicked really weird..." She smiled again and leaned her head against the headrest. She licked her lips and nodded, "Yeah, I mean, kind of. I told her that I was packing and she got the suitcases out for me. She wants them back..." She sighed lightly, "But she did pack up all the baby stuff. I had it spread all over my room and she put it in the box..."

Avery chuckled. "I don't know, you may remember the pains of child birth and all the nights of no sleep while I'm gone along with everything else that comes with being a temporary single parent and hold it against me." He grinned, he would come home from Tech school and gather those girls up in his arms and never let them go. He would be determined to make up the time lost and do what ever he could to give Gracie some time and space to herself. "Well you tell those girls to play nice..." He joked. "I'll drop them off tonight then. Was she at least polite about it? Or did she say it like she was chewing your head off?" He could just imagine the selfish ways her mom would have said it and it bothered him. "I know it's still early but is there anything special you'd like for dinner tonight? I can try my hand at cooking or I could pick something up." He had candles already on the table waiting to be lit, despite it only being three in the afternoon.

Gracie laughed and nodded, "Yeah but that won't make me hate you, I just might not want to have any more children. At least until after you're home for sure. I'll still like you at least..." She let her hands run over her stomach as she felt another kick, this time it felt normal. She took Avery's hand and put it on her belly where someones foot or hand was pressing against her from inside. "Sorry, I just like it. I want you to feel it too... Mom wasn't too nasty about it. She was civil. I suppose she's just getting used to the idea. I mean, she didn't expect me to grow up this fast, I can kind of understand where she's coming from this time. I would be upset too if one of my kids just decided to move out before graduating high school. In this case its just necessary." She licked her lips and looked over at her boyfriend as he asked his next question, "I don't care what we have for dinner, Hun. I just want something. I'm probably gonna need a snack between now and dinner though..."

Avery glanced at her. "I know, I'm just teasing." He pulled into the driveway on the side of the house and put the car into park as she took his hand and placed it on her belly. He smiled, quickly unbuckled the seatbelt and turned in the seat to place both hands on her moving belly. "I'm glad you want me to feel it too." He grinned down at her belly, he couldn't physically see the movement that was taking place, but he could feel it and he was just in awe. A weight settled on his chest as he remembered his ship off date and how far away it was to her delivery date. He knew multiples often came early, but he knew he couldn't be so lucky.
"I'm glad she wasn't nasty about it and I understand where she would be upset, but if you were going to move out after graduation you'd only have eight more days." He inclined his head and then kissed her cheek. "Zane and I went shopping for groceries yesterday, so there is plenty of food in the fridge, freezer, and pantry." He smiled and took his hands off her stomach. "I hope you don't mind that I got quite a few healthy options for you, you're probably sick of eating healthy all the time, but I also grabbed pre-made brownies for you and some other sweets, just to give you some options." He got out of the car and walked around to open her door for her. "We're home, ready for the grand tour?"

Gracie grinned at him as he placed his other hand on her stomach, not even realizing that they'd stopped. She just loved this and she wanted him to stay, at least until the babies were born, but he was leaving in a week. She sighed lightly and placed her hands on top of his, not saying a word. She felt the baby stop pressing against her and then smiled at Avery again. "Harper's done."
She nodded at his statement releasing his hands. "Yeah, well, she's kind of ridiculous in case you didn't notice." She nodded again and sighed opening her door. "No, I honestly don't mind eating healthy. It's quite good if you do it right. Like that healthy pasta I found out how to make. I like the healthy noodles better anyway. And the healthy lasagna was good too." She smiled again and shook her head, "But I am grateful for the chocolate. I'm ready for the tour, if you wanna help me out of here..."

"Of course darling." He offered his hand to her and then as she got on her feet, he put his arm around her lower back and lead her to the front of the house. "This is the front of the house. I was kind of hesitant because there wasn't a fence in the front, but the back porch is screened in and the back yard is fenced so when the girls get a little older we won't have to worry too much about them running out in the street or out into the water in the back." He lead her up the stairs and inside, giving her a short tour of the house, ending in the living room. "You want to settle in here and I'll go fix you up something to snack on before dinner."
