Tally's eyes grew wide as she heard what Avery was saying. "Oh my God, so you guys are at the hospiral right now?" she asked. She shook her head then realized that he couldn't see an replied, "No, she's working, but I'll run to the diner and get her. I'm sure her boss will be fine with it, she knows all about Gracie's pregnancy." Gracie felt another contraction and let out a groan, "Avery!" she hollered, hoping he was close. "Where the hell are you?!" She was irritated by all of this already and she had just started the process.

Avery nodded as a response and then followed it with a rushed 'yes,' 'thanks,' 'bye' before stepping back into the room where Gracie could see him. He made his way back to her side and took her hand. "I got Tally she's going to get your mom at the diner." He ran his finger gently across the top of her hand. "I haven't called my mom yet.... Did the nurse say anything?" He looked toward the door in hopes that the answer to his question might just magically appear there. "How are you doing?" He asked stupidly, he could see she was in a lot of pain.

Gracie squeezed Avery's hand as he took hers and she nodded at his words. "God, i'm sorry, Ave, but can we wait for this to pass, I can't focus on anythi-aaaaa!" She groaned again, squeezing his hand even harder. She glared up at him with is question, wasn't it obvious how she was doing? "I think you should choose your questions more wisely." The contraction finally ended and she released her death grip on his hand. "Alright. You can call your mom..."

Avery looked away as she snapped at him. Sure he'd asked the stupid question but he wasn't sure how to react in this situation and the first thing in his head was the first thing out of his mouth. "Sorry." He apologized dialing his mom as she released his hand. It didn't take long at all for her to answer. "Mom the girls are coming." He gave it a second before he spoke again. "Mom?"
"We're on our way...what room?" Avery glanced at Gracie and ran his fingers through her hair. He mentioned the room number and asked if they could pick up some things from the new house. "Gracie has a box of baby clothes in the nursery and Uh..." He wasn't sure what else she'd need. "Don't worry son, I'll bring everything, you just hold Gracie's hand..." Avery thanked her and shoved the phone into his back pocket. "What if we tried some of those breathing techniques we learned...?" He asked, trying to help.

Gracie leaned her head back against the pillows on her bed and closed her eyes. She was already exhausted, it hurt so much. She licked her lips and blinked as he hung up the phone, then looked at him with his question. "Breathing exercises... Yeah, I just can't remember any of those right now because none of my brain cells are doing what they're supposed to because this fucking hurts so bad and it's terrible and I don't want to do this anymore!" She cried out her feelings and could probably be heard down the hallway, but she couldn't help it. This sucked. "I just want my freaking epidural! Where is that nurse?"

Avery watched Gracie as the contraction ended. He reminded her of one of the breathing exercises he could remember and then moved into the hall to find the nurse. He felt bad for Gracie and wanted to help her, but as far as calling their parents and trying to find the nurse he couldn't do much else. He caught the attention of one of the nurses in the hall and got a 'hold on a second' finger before he returned to Gracie's side. "Not much longer babe."

Gracie nodded with his statement and held out her hand for him to take. She didn't want him to leave anymore. She knew that she was probably sending him mixed signals, being mad and then wanting him with her. She sighed lightly as her eyes were closed and shook her head lightly. "I'm so exhausted already, Ave. I don't think I can do this..." She was just speaking what was going through her head and she practiced the breathing exercise he'd just reminded her of, hoping she could remember it through the next contraction.

Avery was getting anxious, he didn't expect the nurse to take this long to come check her out and give her the epidural that she so desperately needed and wanted. He held her hand and began to practice the breathing with her, just like they'd done in the classes they'd taken together to help prepare them for this day. He didn't feel at all prepared, he felt lost and scared. As he continued to breath with Gracie, he began to wonder how long it would take for her mom and Tally to arrive. He nervously looked at Gracie, praying that Gracie's mom wouldn't deliberately not come because Gracie had moved out or because she still didn't like him. He had half a mind to call the diner and make sure Tally had arrived and that they were on their way if she had, but Gracie needed him there. "Hey, you can do this." He kissed her forehead and placed one hand on her stomach. "You deliver those beautiful girls and I promise you can rest, six days of rest coming right up alright...?"

Gracie nodded and let out a sigh. She just really didn't want to do this right now. She wasn't ready to start raising two little girls on her own and she couldn't understand why this was scaring her so much. Especially when they'd planned it this way all along. She let out another sigh, nodding again before opening her eyes to look at him, she wanted to ask him all of those terrible 'what ifs', but she kept her mouth shut. She was thinking about all of the bad things that could happen, but she needed him to be the positive one to get her through the birth.

Avery kept his hands on Gracie, giving her a gentle massage, running his fingers through her hair, hoping what he was doing was giving her some sort of relief or comfort. He had no doubt that Gracie would be able to take care of their girls without him. He knew he could count on both of their families to rise to her aid no matter what was going on in their own lives. He wasn't sure Gracie knew this, but he didn't know how to tell her this any differently than he'd already tried.
Relief came in the form of a nurse with what Avery hoped was Gracie's epidural. Not far behind her, Monte slipped through the door with a grin and pressed himself against the interior wall. "Security is chasing me." He mouthed to both Avery and Gracie.

Gracie sighed again as he massaged her and then when the nurse walked in she groaned. "Thank goodness, I thought you were never going to come back." The nurse smiled and shook her head. "No way. I just have to prep the needle and the anesthesiologist will be here any minute." As she finished her sentence a man stepped into the room, after Monte and Gracie lost focus. When had Monte gotten there and what was he doing up against the wall like that. "Did you see Tally anywhere, Monte?"

Monte jumped a little as the anesthesiologist walked into the room, but he detached himself from the wall when he realized Security had lost interest. "Nope haven't seen her." He walked over and put a hand on Gracie's shoulder briefly. "She'll be here." He put that hand on Avery's shoulder instead. "If I have to I'll go hunt her down."
Monte gave Gracie a reassuring look and then he turned so Gracie couldn't see how uncomfortable he really was being in the room. He was over the little rejection he'd experienced from her, but he wasn't sure about being around her as she withered in pain or during the actual birth, that would just freak him out. Avery picked up on it and gave him his own reassuring look. Gracie would have more than enough people there for her during the actual delivery, Monte wouldn't need to be in the room.

Just as Monte finished his sentence, there was Tally and her mother. "Oh Gracelyn, honey, I'm so sorry," her mother said as she gave her a kiss on the forehead. The anesthesiologist glanced around at the crowd and looked at Avery, "We're going to need the people who aren't staying in the delivery room to move to the waiting room. We're about to give her the epidural." Gracie heard it and she glanced at Tally before her mom, who kissed her forehead again and headed out, which made a wave of relief wash over her. "Tally, are you sure you're alright to stay?" Gracie asked, to which Tally nodded. "Of course."

Avery nodded as the anesthesiologist spoke and turned to Monte, but was surprised to see he'd already made it to the door. He smiled and turned back to Gracie, but before he made the complete rotation he saw his parents in the door way. "We'll be in the waiting room with Monte. Gracie you're going to do great darling." His mom held up the box of baby things and Gracie's bag and then they followed Monte to the nearby waiting room. He smiled at Tally, he wasn't surprised in the least that Tally would be the one in the delivery room with Gracie instead of their mother, though he would have thought their mother would have put up a bigger fight. He hung back a little, giving the sisters space.

Gracelyn gave Avery's parents a smile as they spoke. She loved the kind words from his mother, glad that she was finally being accepted into the Mondego family, although her babies were already there, she was glad to have the extra support while Avery was gone. Tally smiled at Gracie and they had a small conversation with their eyes, then verbal encouragement from Tally and a small hug before the anesthesiologist explained what Gracie would have to do. He numbed around her spine and then Gracie arched her back, hugging a pillow as he gave her the epidural. He finished and she smiled at him, "Thank you." She looked from Tally to Avery, gesturing for him to come over. "You ready to be a daddy?"
