His fingers touched the skin along her waist. "Because we were so busy focusing on the well being of the little ones and securing living arrangements and everything else that we as young parents had to do." He kissed her lips and let his fingers roam underneath her shirt. "I'm not sure it would have been enough if we'd been busy like rabbits, because I'd still want you when I couldn't, I'm still going to want you when I'm away too. It's another thing to add to my list of things I'm going to miss about you and the girls when I'm away." Another kiss and then a move to her ear. "I've been thinking...I won't go for my wings just yet..." He whispered. "If I choose Weather Specialist as my career path, I could be home in 205 days from the start of training. November 29th. If I try for a pilot position, it could be a lot longer, I have to reach officer status, and that takes a bachelors degree and an extra 84 days. A bachelor's degree would take me four years...." Gracie looked back up at him, confused as to what he was saying. He couldn't mean what she thought he was saying. He didn't want that, did he? She shook her head, "But is that what you want? I mean, I know I wouldn't complain if that happened, but is that really what you want? I don't want you to regret what you're doing, you're going to be doing this as a career, Avery..." She licked her lips, hoping with all her heart that he would do whatever was fastest to bring him back home to her. "I don't want you to regret your decision, and I don't want to tell you what to do." She swallowed lightly and heard a whimper coming from the carseats. She looked at Avery and smiled lightly before she gave him a light kiss on the cheek before she maneuvered away from him to go get the near-crying baby. She plucked Harper from her seat and held her up so that her head was on her shoulder. "Don't do that for my sake, Avery. Do it because you want to."

Avery shrugged as Gracie went to pick up Harper. "I want to get back and miss as little as possible..." He always wanted to be a pilot, he was one now, but he wanted to be a fighter pilot and becoming a Weather Specialist would get him home sooner. "I could still be a pilot later on down the road, it just wouldn't be as soon as I come home you know." He got up and joined Harper and Gracie, his fingers sliding over the infants face and then to Gracie's hair. "I'm alright with it. I don't have to go to the college on base, I can attend Riverside, be around family, the three of you are more important to me than flying a big fighter jet."

Gracie nodded at him, but she was still confused as to how everything works. It all just seemed so complicated. Letting out a sigh she nodded again. "Alright. If you're sure that's what you want. "If you really want that, then it's fine," she said lightly. Looking up at him and bit her lip, "Is there any way that the girls and I could move somewhere closer to the base, just for a little while so that you could go with your original plan? Although I guess it would be easier just to do what you're saying... I just don't want you to have to change your plan I guess." She sighed lightly and started bouncing Harper to get her to calm back down.

Avery licked his lips. "I don't see how might you and the girls to another part of the country would help us." He ran a hand through his hair and gently took Harper from Gracie, cradling her against his chest and patting her back gently with a few rotations of his hand thrown in, oddly she stopped fussing. "Maybe we should feed them before the pizza gets here." He passed her back to Gracie and bent to take Devyn from her seat. "If we didn't have Harper and Devyn I would go straight for officer status and become a pilot, but being here for them fully for the next four or five years while I earn my bachelors is more appealing and logical." He started to have second thoughts about becoming a fighter pilot now or ever. "I'm a pilot now, why do I need to fly a jet into potential hostile territory and risk leaving the girls without a father or you without a husband? Maybe that position should be reserved for men without small children at home?" He felt bad for saying it, but he believed it. "Yeah I'm convinced. In four or five years I might decide I still want to fly or maybe I won't maybe I'll never want to do it again and at the end of my enlistment I could take my skill set elsewhere, where the risk isn't so great. I could continue in weather services or become a commercial pilot." He chuckled. "I'd get to fly a big plane then..."

Gracie shrugged, "I don't know, I mean, I guess I thought you might be able to see us in the breaks you get off the base, if you even get those, and then you could still focus all of your energy into school." She bit her lip, knowing it hadn't been a great idea. She watched as he calmed the baby and she smiled, she was already a daddy's girl and she hadn't even been alive three days. She licked her lips once more and nodded at his question she understood why he wanted to come home, and she really wanted him there. It would be a very good scenario if it played out right. He could come home and help her, and get his degree at the same time. Once he'd explained it, it made perfect sense. She was probably only confused because of her lack of sleep the past two days. She nodded, she didn't want him out at war, not now, or ever, really. She sighed and giggled at his thoughts about being a commercial pilot. "Alright, but you can only be a commercial pilot if you don't let your plane get hi-jacked, okay?"

"I promise not to get highjacked if I become a commercial pilot, but I probably won't even do that until later you know. Toomuch time away from my girls. But the best thing about switching to the air reserves means I can work everyday and have my schooling paid for in full too. It's going to be tough but I'll manage." it would be tough raising twin girls, working full time on the base and attending school. "Would you think poorly of me of me if it took me linger than four years to complete my bachelors?"

Gracie nodded and listened to what he was talking about. "I get it. I'd rather you didn't leave all the time too." She smiled at a thought she'd just had and looked at her boyfriend, "And maybe if you're a pilot I can be an attendant and then we can just go around the world together, how does that sound?" she asked with a light smile, she started toward the kitchen which held the box of bottles and bit her lip. "Do you have the formula in the kitchen already or is it in the car?" she asked him lightly before answering his question, "But no, I wouldn't think poorly of you. You're going to be doing so much all at the same time. I don't think I could ever think poorly of you, and I definitely wouldn't for that."

"What would we do with the girls if we were out flying around the world?" He knew, one of their mom's would watch them, or Tally and they wouldn't make a habit of leaving them all the time. "It's in the kitchen and good to know, it might even take me longer than five years, but I'm going to do everything in my power to make it happen in four." He picked up Devyn from her car seat as she started to whine and carried her into the kitchen to make her a bottle.

Gracie shook her head, "Well, I meant whenever they move out and go to college, although I suppose we may have more kids and then I'd be an middle aged flight attendant and that's just not cute," she said with a giggle. She smiled, "Maybe you can fly the planes and I'll just ride along, instead." She shrugged again and got out two bottles for the girls. "No matter how long it takes you to finish, I'll be proud of you when you do."

"Oh see that's just not true, you'd be a hot middle aged flight attendant and you'd be far more speaking to have on board than any young blond bimbo who you might acuse me of infidelity. At least with you up there I'd stand a chance of fighting off anyone who might come onto me." He winked, though he knew just how arrogant and conceited he really was and no he wasn't ashamed of it in the slightest. "So when I become a commercial pilot and we're making one of our flights from one city to another would you mind being my leading lady? Because I wouldn't want it any other way, unless of course you were my co-pilot and in that case it would be better, I could steal a mid-flight kiss." He winked again and put a hand out for one of the bottles. "Uh, did you want to go to Riverside University? Or get a job?" He hadn't even thought about what she wanted. "Because I could get my dad to watch the girls during the early morning hours while my mom is still at work and then she'd take over she'd love it. You don't have to, but just because we have two young kids doesn't mean you have to be acstay at home mom if you want to go to school or work." The more he spoke he felt like he was being rude or hurtful and so he stopped, to give her time to think or answer.

Gracie giggled at his shpeil about her being a hot flight attendant. "Oh, Ave, I would never accuse you of infidelity. I trust you completely and I love you," she said with a grin before she shrugged lightly, "I dunno, that depends on where we get to go. Can we go to different countries too?" she asked lightly, grinning, she knew she'd say yes to wherever he wanted to go. "Sounds like a good retirement plan to me." She rocked the baby in her arms lightly, "Where's the formula, Avery?" she asked. She bit her lip and shrugged at his question. "I don't know, I mean, obviously right now I can't do either, the girls need me. They're too little to be left with a sitter, even if they're family." She sighed and shook her head, "Plus, I don't know what I want to do, so I can't even see myself going to college. After the girls are old enough I might be able to get a job, and I'll probably want one. Maybe like a secretary job or a receptionist. I think I'd be good at that. I'm pretty organized and I'm quick on a keyboard."

Avery opened the cabinet where he put the formula and brought it down for Gracie. "We could probably go around the world or wherever you want to go and maybe even before we retire." He rocked Devyn. "I'm not trying to rush you into anything, take your time, we'll be fine no matter when you decide to go to work or college or if you ever decide to go."

"Thank you," she said lightly before she started to put the right amount of formula into both bottles. She licked her lips and nodded before returning the lid to the can. "Well then in that case I will definitely fly with you anywhere," she said with a light smile. She turned the kitchen faucet on warm and filled one bottle and then the other, setting them each back on the counter before she took one lid and started twisting it on. She shrugged, "I know we'd be fine without it, but I want to feel useful, so I'll definitely be getting a job sometime after the girls are older. She shrugged, "And I don't know, that might just be whenever you get back or whenever I go stir crazy, just depends on how long everything takes to set in."

Avery watched her make the babies bottles and listened to what she was saying. "I doubt you'll go stir crazy with these two running around. They'll keep you plenty busy, especially when they start crawling around getting into stuff." He smiled and took the bottle from Gracie to give it to Devyn. "Let me know when you get back what you want to do. We can easily fix our schedules so one of us is always with the girls."
