Marissa blushed but gave a nod, holding the duffel bag close to her. Batari was right, this all was a little overwhelming, but not exactly for the reasons she mentioned. She still needed to get used to people being nice without expecting anything in return. "Uhm...where is he?"

"He's downstairs in the living room, probably with Kyon." Batari answered, setting a school notebook on her desk and extending an arm in offering for Marissa to go out of the room first. "We can go down together." She told her, once out of the room leading the way down the stairs. "Kavi," She called to her brother, who looked up from the television. Kavi smiled and stood up, going to Marissa. "You..." He began, but then realized he didn't know what he was going to say. He looked to the ground, blushing slightly. "You look nice." He muttered.

Marissa nodded, following Batari downstairs to where Kavi was. She blushed a bit as his compliment, smiling lightly and looking down at her feet. "Thanks..." His approval made her strangely happy, a small warmth spreading through her chest.

Kavi laughed nervously, trying to figure out something to say. "Uh..." He tried, but MinKyon came in saved the day. MinKyon bounded up to her, "Noona so pretty!" She squealed happily, playfully tugging on her hand. "Can we play?"

"Thank you." She wasn't quite sure what "Noona" was though. Marissa looked down at the little girl. "Uh...sure...?" It'd started off as an answer but had become a question. Marissa wasn't exactly sure how to play with a little girl, or anyone for that matter.

Kavi smiled, about to say something when Jina saved everyone from anymore awkwardness, coming in from the kitchen with an oven mitt on and a spatula in one hand. "Marissa, do you like quiche?" She asked. Batari's eyes widened, "Oh no, mom, don't tell me you tried to make quiche again! Last time it tasted funny!" She whined, causing a chuckle to emit from Kavi. Jina narrowed her eyes at her daughter. "Look, young lady, until you decide to make some sort of meal for us, I can cook whatever I want." She said, trying to be strict, but it just came out as seem like a playful banter among young girls. Kavi laughed, calling MinKyon over. "Mwo (What)?" MinKyon asked, still by Marissa. "Why don't you play with Zhi instead?" He suggested to his daughter. "But Marissa chowa (I like Marissa)!" MinKyon whined, bouncing up and down a bit. "Kyon, you can play with her later, okay?" Kavi told his daughter, and she looked up to Marissa with puppy eyes. "Fine." She said simply, going upstairs to play with Zhi. Kavi let out a small laugh. "She would've just had you playing with barbies anyway..." He explained to Marissa.

Marissa gave a small nod to Jina, though she'd never really had quiche. She wouldn't tell Jina that, she was grateful enough to keep her mouth shut. She bit her lip to stop the smile growing as she listened to Jina and Batari's exchange, though she felt a small prick in her chest. Marissa couldn't help but wish that she and her mother had that type of relationship. Marissa turned back to look at Kyon, she wouldn't have minded playing with the little girl but she was a bit relieved when she ran off to play upstairs. "Oh. I've never played barbies before." Marissa was starting to realize that the way she grew up was way different than how this family lived, and it was a bit sad.

Kavi's eyes widened, "Really? I thought all girls did..." He muttered the second part, looking to Batari. Batari returned her attention to her brother and Marissa. "I didn't." She said with a simple shrug. She smiled, "But then again, I grew up in Indonesia. Even though Barbies were popular, I personally loved nothing more than playing with friends outside." Her eyes seemed distant at the memories. Kavi cleared his throat, getting Batari out of her daydream. "Don't you have like... homework or something?" He asked her. Batari bit her lip and grinned, "I get it~" She said, bidding goodbye to Marissa before going upstairs. Kavi looked at her apologetically. "I've definitely got too many siblings." He joked, giving her a small laugh. "And I know it can be overwhelming just meeting parents." He motioned to the couch. "Why don't you have a seat? Are you thirsty?" He asked, finally getting the chance to be a good host.

"My parents didn't exactly...approve of play like that." Marissa sighed as she remembered the countless times she was forced to practice playing the piano instead of playing with the other kids like she'd wanted to. She gave a wave, watching as Batari walked off before turning her attention back to Kavi. Get what...? "No, it was fine." She gave a small smile, going to sit like he suggested. It had been a little overwhelming, but she was slowly getting used to it. "No thanks. I'm fine."

Kavi nodded and sat down, next to her but not too close. He tried to think of something to say, but he would barely get a breath before realizing he had nothing more to say. What a fun night this'll be... He thought sarcastically, forcing himself to not roll his eyes. That reminds me... He thought, finally having something to say. "You'll probably either sleep here or in Batari's room."

"O-oh..." Marissa bit her lip to stop a frown from growing. What did you expect, to sleep in the room with him? Of course that was what she thought, despite him being a guy he was the only one she felt she'd be comfortable enough with. Not that she expected to sleep in the bed with him or anything. Marissa blushed lightly at the though. "Alright..."

Kavi shifted uncomfortably, biting his lip. Akio seemed to read his mind again, suddenly leaning over his twin brother, looking at Marissa. "New girlfriend?" He asked casually. Kavi practically jumped, not noticing his brother come in. "She's not my girlfriend." He argued. "Just... just a friend He said, looking at her with an unreadable look. Akio raised an eyebrow. "Sure, whatever." He extended a hand and gave her a smile, "I'm Akio, nice to meet you."

"I'm, um, Marissa. Nice to meet you too..." She took his hand, shaking it briefly before dropping her hand and glancing at Kavi. She hadn't heard Akio come in either. One thing was for sure, his family certainly wasn't shy. Marissa kinda hoped he didn't have anymore siblings lurking around.

Kavi pushed his twin brother away from over him, "Why are you bugging us? I though you had somewhere to go or something." He asked, trying to sound annoyed, but a bit of relief seemed apparent as well. "You guys looked awkward. Considering I heard you just met her today, you probably got through the basics but don't want to discuss deeper matters yet." Akio explaining knowingly, giving an almost bored-looking shrug. "Why not just offer to watch a movie or something?" He suggested to them before muttering "I'm outta here" and giving the two a wave goodbye. Kavi looked to Marissa, biting his lip shyly. "Do you... Do you wanna watch a movie?" He asked, still sounding awkward.

Marissa stayed quiet during the brother's exchange, only frowning a bit when Akio mention "deeper matters." She didn't get a chance to ask what he meant though, since he walked away and Kavi was asking if she wanted to watch a movie. "Oh, um sure. What movies do you have?"
