Past: Ame was a normal, happy child. He would often spend time singing songs for Perrin and protecting his slightly younger brother. As the second son, Ame had responsibilities he knew he would have to one day uphold, but for now, he could play to his little heart’s content. At least it was like that until age four, when he was kidnapped after he strayed a little while his family was shopping. Why the kidnappers picked him, no one will ever know. He was missing for over a month when the police stopped looking, telling the family the bad news that he’d probably be dead by then.
In reality, in a dark house just outside of Paris, Ame was alive, but barely. Drugs were threatening to cause him to die of overdose and he was constantly wracked with pain from chronic beatings and rape by the kidnappers. Almost two years passed before he finally found his chance to freedom: one of the kidnappers had left the door open while he was unchained, thinking Ame wouldn't be moving anytime soon. Once they were gone, Ame used all his strength and ran to the nearest house and asked them to call the police. The family there had seen his condition and did so right away, but Ame fainted before a paramedic could even get there. It was the last time Ame would speak for six years.
After Ame was out of the hospital, his family tried everything to get him to speak. He just didn’t want to. His parents tried to get him counseling, but absolutely nothing worked. He spent six months in a mental hospital before his parents and the staff decided it was only making him worse.
Time passed by and the family soon got used to Ame’s new silent demeanor. On Perrin’s 11th birthday, they couldn’t get Perrin to stop crying because he just wanted to hear his big brother’s voice sing “Happy Birthday” to him again, like he used to when they were little. The big brother he had looked up to since they were babies. Ame finally decided to speak, his voice raw and raspy as he sang his favorite brother “happy birthday.” Though he was still quiet by nature, he slowly began speaking more. He never seemed to return to his normal self though, even though his parents took this chance to try counseling again.
If Ame’s life couldn’t have gotten any worse, at fifteen he received news, like the rest of his siblings, that his parents were dead. He quit attending counseling sessions and once again became mute. This time, though Perrin would cry, whine, and even beg his brother to speak, nothing seemed to work.
At age sixteen, he began using his looks to summon others, men and women, into his bed. Without speaking a word, he seduced many men and women. There seemed to be no explanation for his sudden behavior, but he was actually facing a sudden onslaught of memories that had only been faded dreams before. Perrin frowned upon this behavior, but never said anything.
Two years passed like this, and Perrin eventually got into a fight with Ame about it. It ended with Perrin slapping his brother, and Ame muttering a simple apology, along with barely heard mutterings saying he didn’t know how to live with the memories of what happened to him.
Ame is once again talking, but there can be days that pass by without him muttering a single word and no one will notice. He loves Perrin more than even he knows, his little brother is like his life boat. He wants to change his behavior to get Perrin’s approval, but he doesn’t even know where to begin; he doesn’t like counseling anymore, and he claims sex as the only escape from the memories that haunt him.
When Ame found out Enzo was having trouble paying bills, he set out to find another job. He got a job at Subway as a cashier, and when his brothers found out he got a job for the family, his brothers were surprised, especially since Enzo was convinced Ame
only cared for Perrin.
More recently, Ame's seemed to soften up a little, not immediately flirting with people he just met, as well as seeming to not sleep around as much. It confuses Enzo and Perrin as to what changed, but they're happy Ame's working on fixing himself (Ame tends to play mute when they ask him about it).
