"Uh..." Sheryl bit her lip, a light blush crossing her cheeks. He's inviting me to live with him? We barely know each other. Man this guy is crazy... "I-I..." She frowned, trying to figure out what the heck she was trying to say. "As much as I would lo-like to, I don't think that would sit well with my brothers." Especially not Zavier. Her oldest brother was super protective over the other two, even though him and her other brother Bastian were twins. He would have an aneurism over the thought of her going to live with some boy she'd just met. "Besides, I'm only 14. I wouldn't be able to get a job for at least two years, and you barely know me." She looked up at him, giving him a small, barely-there smile. The fact that he was willing to help her touched her, and made her heart do some weird flippy thingy in her chest. "Thank you though..."

He laughed lightly, feeling a little embarrassed at his insane suggestion. PJ was surprised, he had expected Sheryl to call him insane or something. He only nodded, "Yeah. And I don't think my sister would like that, either." Athena wouldn't mind too much, but he wasn't sure about what Annelise would think. Besides, they didn't have any more room. Only four bedrooms and two bathrooms, which he doubted could even suit them all. PJ wondered what exactly had gotten him to think of the idea, even if he knew it wouldn't work. Maybe it will. he thought, I just have to get to know her better first. Otherwise, it'll still be a crazy idea. Biting his lower lip, his attention turned back to Sheryl. He wrote his phone number down on a piece of paper and handed it to her, though he doubted it would help at all. "Uh... Here's my phone number. If you can, and you need anything something, call me, okay?" he asked, just wanting to make sure that her brothers and her wouldn't get into any trouble living in an abandoned house like that. But did she even have a phone?

Sheryl looked down at the paper as if it were in a foreign language or something, her eyes slightly wide. "U-uh...o-okay." She finally took the paper, slipping it into her pocket. Her eyes fell on the forgotten sandwich then and she reached out to grab it, biting into it. She looked back up at PJ, tilting her head a bit to the side. "Why do you want to help me?" Not that it was bad or anything, she was just genuinely confused.

PJ really didn't know why. "I just want to make sure you're okay and all..." he said, his voice trailing off. He didn't think it was really necessary to give her a reason, he just wanted to help, and that was all. Maybe he felt saddened by her story. And what happened if he got caught inside of that abandoned house. Wouldn't they just be taken away? Biting his lower lip, he took a sip of his coffee and remained silent for a few moments. Was he just being a little overprotective, like he was to his sisters and all? He shrugged. "I don't really know why. I mean, I don't have an exact reason."

"O-oh.." Sheryl fell silent as well, eating her sandwich slowly. She was about half way done when she placed it on a napkin and took a sip of her water. "Thank you." She said softly, smiling up at him. "I-I mean, for everything. Normally people just ignore me or brush me off when I get like this..." She blushed, looking away again and hiding her face in her cup.

He shrugged, but smiled at her. "I guess I'm not like most people, then." he said, with a light laugh. "Uh... Where do you want to go next, after this, I mean? Do you want to keep walking around?" PJ wasn't in any rush, he could use some exploring, after all. And because he didn't have anything else to do at home (besides help his sister unpack, which he really didn't want to do), exploring sounded like a really good idea. He lightly smiled at Sheryl, biting his lower lip.

"Definitely not." Sheryl whispered. She didn't like most people, and she found that she was taking quite a liking to PJ, so he definitely couldn't fit into that category. "Sure." Sheryl answered his question almost right away. She didn't want to go back home to where her brothers were, and she really didn't want to be alone again. Sheryl quickly finished the rest of her sandwich, but took her time with her water so she wouldn't choke or anything, like she tended to do when she drank too fast.

PJ smiled at her when he noticed that she responded, 'Sure', almost instantly. At least I know that she's not upset anymore... he thought, remembering how he met her earlier and how she was crying... It made him upset himself. He stood up and waited patiently for her to finish drinking her water before offering his hand to help her up. "So, we're going left, right?" he asked, looking back at the door.
sorry it took me so long to reply. i've been busy, but i should be online more often now. and i apologize for the shortness! :(

Sheryl watched as PJ stood, finishing her water and taking his waiting hand. "Uh, yeah I guess." Sheryl bit her lip, taking her hand back but almost immediately missing the warmth. She grabbed her garbage, throwing it away before sticking her hands in her pockets and looking over at PJ.

PJ smiled; everything seemed to be going great, which was awesome. She wasn't drowning herself in tears anymore and seemed less of a train-wreck; her tears were all dried by now, and, despite that he was positive that she was still a little unsure of herself, he had a sense that she was starting to get a little more comfortable. It was a little bit chilly outside, he noticed. PJ assumed that the air had just grown colder while they were inside. Weather was always unpredictable. He felt a shiver run up his spine. It was springtime, but still pretty chilly in the air. "Are you cold?" he asked curiously

Sheryl hadn't really noticed the cold, staying in an abandoned house kind of got her her used to it. But then again, she had walls surrounding her, and right now she could feel the wind blowing through her tank top. "A-a little." She murmured, biting her lip and glancing up at him. "I'm kind of used to it though, so I s-should be fine." Of course, as she said that another gust of wind blew and she shivered again. Sheryl pulled her hands out of her pockets, wrapping them around herself. "Maybe more than a little." She muttered.

He chuckled lightly when she contradicted herself, first saying that she was used to it and then saying she was a bit colder than she had thought. It was surprising how fast the air had turned cold, but he didn't mind it much. "Here," he said, sliding his jacket on her, like those heroic gentleman types do in the movies, though of course, he didn't seem himself as one. It wasn't a big deal, actually, he was used to the cold. "You 'kay now?" he offered her a big grin.

Sheryl jumped a bit when PJ placed his jacket around her shoulders, not exactly expecting it. She blushed lightly, pulling it closer to her and nodded. "Y-yeah, thanks." She didn't bother putting her arms through the sleeves, it was too big for her anyway. Her blush grew deeper when she realized she'd inhaled just a tad deeper as his smell made its way to her nose. "I-it's really big." She stammered after a second.
