Doll muttered a string of curses in every language she knew as she marched into the Museum, her hands shoved into the pockets of her black skirt. She looked down at the white frilly blouse Aya had forced her to wear and the black ballet flats she had slipped her feet into and continued to mutter every swear word she had ever learned in her 17 years of existence. She wasn't a big history fan like her older brother, Apollo but she had decided to escape to the museum because she knew they would never find her there. Her idiotic family members had decided to set her up on a date with someone she didn't know. She groaned at the thought of it and continued to pace around the first floor of the museum, randomly stopping at different exhibits and reading the data that they had on them. She was pretty sure that Garret wasn't the type to go to the museum, and neither were her family members. Izzy was just hoping they'd give up already and let her go home where she could put on a pair of old jeans and a plain shirt instead of the frilly get up she was wearing. It wasn't that she disliked it, she did enjoy wearing things like this on occasion but she found the mocking she was surely going to receive was not worth it. It was as if on cue that her cellphone rang and she grunted in annoyance when she saw it was her cousin, Aya on the line. "Have you called to tell me that you've given up?" Aya laughed and for some reason, that made Izzy's blood run cold. "Isabelle Marie Anderson, if you don't tell me where you are, I'm going to publish all your baby pictures on Facebook and I think they're a lot more doll-like then the present you, don't you agree?" If her phone hadn't been something Izzy had been saving for for a good year, she would have dropped it and crushed it under her foot in a temper. "Museum." Her voice was clipped as she ended the call as soon as she heard Aya's laughter. She shook her head and sighed, deciding to go to the Egyptian Room to sit on a bench in front of a depiction of the cat goddess Bast. Why was her family such a strange group of people who loved interfering in everyone's lives? "God..."

Garret had never in his life been so startled. He'd been sound asleep, dreaming of gorgeous girls in bikinis walking along the beach, stopping, looking at him and with sly grins on their faces, start untying their tops. Aya, let in by Grady, practically gave him a heart attack when she jumped on his bed and told him to get up, she had someone she wanted him to meet. He'd claimed he wasn't interested and pulled the blanket over his naked torso and head to hide from the light and from her. He only got up when she started to abuse the crap out if him verbally and physically. He haphazardly pulled on a pair of jeans over his boxers, ripped a shirt off a hanger and then trudged into the bathroom to brush his teeth. He griped and complained the entire time and told Aya, Izzy better be as gorgeous if not more gorgeous than the girls he'd been fantasizing about.
After another abusive spat Garret reluctantly got into his vehicle and asked where exactly he was meeting this girl. If he'd been anywhere besides parked in his driveway he would have slammed on the breaks and killed someone when he was told he was going to the museum and with a nice sized bruise forming on his arm he pulled out of the driveway and drive to the museum. "I have never been here. Not even when the history teacher told us to go for a project that counted for 10% of our final grade." He got out and asked for a brief description before handing her the keys so she could get home. "You owe me if this completely tanks Aya Tay."
He made his way inside, not once glancing at the art on the walls or the sculptures on display. He was looking for a girl who met Aya's description and it wasn't hard to find her. He stood between the Egyptian room and the Roman Empire room just staring at her. She was truly gorgeous. Finally, he got his legs to work and walked right up to her. He positioned himself between Bast and Izzy, but faced her instead. He placed his hand on his chin in a contemplative way and looked her over. "This one doesn't look Egyptian but damn it's good work, a complete masterpiece."

Izzy had been contemplating numerous things about her predicament when her view of the goddess was completely obstructed by a guy. A guy who looked exactly like Garret Walker and who was obviously checking her out. Her cheeks flushed as she quirked a brow at him, refusing to run away. "Excuse me? Was there a compliment in there somewhere? I'm not sure actually; it sounded more insulting than anything." She raised both eyebrows and stood up, still pretty short compared to Garret but she didn't care. She looked him up and down, her hands on her hips as she checked him out the same way he had her. "You don't look too bad yourself; I think you belong in the Stone Age era though." And with that she scoffed and made a hasty retreat. Hey at least he didn't call you Doll, right? And she was grateful for that. Izzy would have probably treated him a bit nicer if he hadn't been checking her out like a bimbo.

Garret watched her, eyebrows raised. He was half tempted to just give up on her and start back out to the door, call Aya and have her make due on the promise he made for her. But then he got another look at her and couldn't let her walk away. He ran after her. "It was a compliment all the way, darling." He managed to get himself between her and the door. "Look, I'm all for leaving this place, I frankly don't enjoy the museum, but I would love to take you somewhere a little more comfortable, maybe shed that Stone Age era stereotype you've dressed me in."

He was faster than she thought and she sighed just a bit when he suggested they get out of there. "Garret, I don't know why you're trying... I mean, I know you were forced into this and so was I so why bother?", She folded her arms across her chest and looked up at him, pouting just a bit. Doll had to smile at his last comment though and she shrugged as she felt herself being beaten by the fates and her meddling relatives. She quirked a brow at him and smirked just ever so lightly. "And where would you want to go, caveman?"

Garret opened his mouth to respond and the only thing he could think of for why they should try was because she was a good looking girl. "I don't know why we should bother, because the obvious thing to do would be to just say fuck it and part ways, tell our little meddling friends and family that they failed epically and brace ourselves for the next set up." He shamelessly checked her out again. "Though, I have to say if you're their first choice for me, I'd hate to see their second, cause you're sexy as hell." He smirked and lifted his hand boldly to the frill white top she was wearing, he tugged on one of the frills. "You can't be comfortable in this...so, I'd like to go to your house, get you a change of clothes, jeans and a t-shirt maybe? Then I don't know, are you opposed to sitting on grass? Because I could get us something to eat while you change and then take you to my favorite place in the world for a picnic." He tilted his head and folded his arms across his chest. "Sound good? Or do you think we should just shove it to the man?"

Doll rolled her eyes as he checked her out again; she would have punched him in the face for treating her like a piece of meat but she decided that could wait until later. She shook her head at his comment and laughed just a little bit. "Once again, I'm not sure if I should be annoyed or glad." She winced when he touched a frill, preparing herself for another lame joke about her doll-like features but instead he suggested she get out of the clothes and she looked at him surprised. She wasn't sure what possessed her to do it but in the second that he had asked her, she had hugged him, standing on her tip-toes to wrap her arms around his neck. She closed her eyes for the briefest of moments and smiled. "Thank you!" Doll pulled away only when she realized who she had been hugging and blushed, mortified at what she had done. "Y-yeah let's do that; I'm pretty sure if we didn't even try, they'd find some way to blackmail us into trying."

"Do you have a few loose screws in that pretty little head of yours? Because usually when someone calls you sexy, that's usually a compliment." He made a face. "So, uh, be glad." He adjusted his face as her arms came around him and then looked down at her, completely shocked. "You're welcome...?" He wasn't sure what he did to deserve a hug from this beauty, but he wasn't going to complain. "Wow really? That was easy...." He poked his hand in the direction of the door. "Do you live near Aya?"

Doll remembered the last time someone had deigned her with that compliment and frowned. "Usually..." She laughed at his sudden silence and turned to him, smirking. "Don't worry, Garret. That will be the last hug you get from me for a very long time." She walked towards the door and nodded. "Yeah, a couple of doors down actually." Only then did she realize that she had not yet introduced herself and she blushed as she offered him her hand to shake. "I'm Isabelle Anderson, by the way. Izzy for short." Doll for shortest?

Garret frowned and then pouted, he didn't like the idea of him not being able to hug her or be hugged by her for a long time, that was close to a deal breaker. "I hope you'll change your mind...." He nodded at her and then took her hand. "I don't suppose I need to introduce myself, seems how you already know my name. "But Garret Walker....so what would you like to eat? You one of those carb counters?"

Doll laughed and shrugged. "Maybe..." She let him take her hand and turned to glance at him, once again smiling. "I was surprised that Aya didn't tell you my name... She did tell me yours after all." She made a face at his next comment and shook her head. "Puh-leeze. Girls who can't enjoy food....", she trailed off after a heavy sigh and looked pointedly at him. "I pity them." It was true; she was careful not to overindulge but never had she ever counted calories, carbs or read the nutrition facts on food. Food was meant to be enjoyed and she had no respect for those who'd rather eat rice cakes than cheeseburgers. She quirked a brow at Garret. "Why?"

He didn't want to overstep his boundaries, so he let her hand go and pushed the door open, so glad to put this place behind him. "She might have mentioned it in passing a few days ago, but a lot has happened between then and now." He ran his hand through his short hair and shrugged, he didn't know if Aya had mentioned it or not, he'd been too mad at her for waking him up to bother to listen to her. "Just asking because one of my friends' sister owns a diner and if you weren't interested in cheeseburgers and fries, I'd have to pick you up a salad or something. I'm usually an ass, and would have just assumed that you enjoyed burgers or maybe a salad and one way or the other you might be disappointed, especially if I ordered you a salad and sat and ate a big juicy burger in front of you." He laughed. "So Cheeseburgers are good then?" He didn't expect to see his vehicle parked where he left it, but was gracious to Aya for leaving it there for him. He pointed out the vehicle to her and then when he got around to the driver's side, he found his keys tucked beneath the floor mat."

She raised both eyebrows, pretty sure there was only one diner in town. "If your friend's sister owns Palmer's then I'm meeting your friend." Izzy, like many of her relatives had become a fan of the diner's famous milkshakes. She liked most of their food as well, usually having to accompany her sister, Sasha to eat there before she collapsed of hunger from her extracurricular activities. She shook her head. "I'd kill you if you did that; cruel and unusual torture much? And yes, cheeseburgers are perfect." She watched him pick up his car keys under the floor mat after getting in to the passenger seat. "Do you always leave your car keys there?"

Garret grinned. "Yeah that's the place and Chelsea is always open to meeting new people, but I'd like to get to know you first before I introduce you to my gaggle of friends." He got in the car and started it up. "No, actually, I usually keep them on my person, but I kind of gave them to Aya to get home, but she thinks farther ahead than I do." He didn't know if that would make her happy, or piss her off. "So Isabelle, should I call you that or Izzy?"

Isabelle had to smile at that and shrugged as if agreeing. "Alright then, but you have to promise that I'm meeting Chelsea, or I'll ask Aya to throw another ball at you." She smirked at that. "You guys are really close huh? I'm glad though; Cameron was getting a bit tired of being the go-to-guy for her problems... Especially since he has so many of his own." She shook her head, wondering if she was even allowed to say that. Izzy made a face at him. "Izzy, please." For some reason, she was tempted to ask him to call her Doll even if she hated that nickname... Was it because for some twisted reason, she trusted or even liked him? Nah, that was impossible.
