Garret grinned, of course he could see it, but he wasn't going to be mean about it. "I won't tease you, though there are worse things to be teased about than your doll like face." He held his hands up in surrender. "I like your face." He took a bite of his burger and listened to her explain why she thought he looked like a Rise Against fan. "Ramble away sweetheart, I like your voice too." He shrugged a shoulder with her question. "I suppose I'll just study general crap until I decide what the hell I'm actually going to do. The only thing I want to do is play baseball. So any hobbies?"

Doll blushed at his compliment and she took another bite of her burger, chewed slowly and swallowed before she muttered, "Thanks Garret." She tilted her head and bit her lip when he spoke about baseball. "I don't want to be mean but if all you want to do is play baseball, why do you play it so badly during the games?" She mimicked his previous pose, holding up her hands in surrender. "Aya and the others say you're a great baseball player... But it's like you don't really care." She shrugged again before taking an onion ring and dipping it into the honey mustard near Garret. "I like to draw; sketch... I don't think I'm good enough to take it up for college but I do like architecture a bit..."

Garret smiled as the blush came across her face. He thought it was really cute when her face turned a light shade of red. The smile left his face however when she made the same observation about his game. "I never said..." He couldn't lie and say he was bad at it now..."I don't know why I slack off, maybe because it's high school and no one is going to notice. I'm not looking for a scholarship, it would be nice for a professional coach to come to a game and snag me up, but that's not going to happen, so I figure goof off in high school and then in college I show them my goods." He raised an eyebrow, wondering if that made any sense at all. "I promised a certain someone one..." He wasn't sure if he should mention Aya's name now. "I'd pick it up, work harder, give it my all that way I don't look like I really don't care." He copied her by dipping an onion ring into the honey mustard and listened to her answer to his question. "So then architect? I think that would be a cool profession, problem is I can't draw worth a fuck."

She picked up a curly fry and pointed it at him before popping it into her mouth. "But... Wouldn't you have a bigger chance of getting picked up by a professional coach if the school actually wins some games?" Doll shrugged again as she finished her burger and put the wrapper in the empty paper bag. "You have to remember that the game isn't just about you and your interests, Garret." She smiled and met his gaze. "I'm not trying to be mean but the whole school relies on you guys to win, not just slack off because no one's watching..." She shrugged again as she picked up another curly fry. "I hope you won't be offended if I say it sounds a bit selfish of you." Izzy laughed softly. "I'll sketch you some time then; I'm really out of shape with my drawing... I need to get to know this town and maybe find that place I'd like to draw you know? Maybe I will take architecture."

Garret rolled his eyes and tilted his head backward, he'd heard it a million times, his dad, his brother, Aya, most of the people in the halls, he'd promised to be better, sure he didn't have much time left, but he didn't really care. "I don't care if it's selfish, I'm a high school senior, I haven't reached my peak of maturity yet, you know what." He picked up a curly fry, one that was really long and wouldn't stand on end like Izzy's had, he pointed it at her anyway. "I don't want to talk about it anymore." He shoved the curly fry in his mouth and then chewed slowly.
"God, what is the deal with all you females wanting me to pose in your pictures? Maybe I should be a male model." He smirked and lifted his shirt to show her his abs. "You think?" He dropped his shirt. "I already posed for Ay...someone's picture shoot not too long ago."

Doll laughed and shook her head. "I guess not... I dunno Garret; I guess... I think playing for someone or something is so much better than just playing for yourself." She shrugged again; she seemed to be in the habit of shrugging a lot when she was around him. She picked up another onion ring and dipped it into the mustard again before eating it. "Alright then; we don't have to talk about it."
She turned and swallowed just as he lifted his shirt and had to bite down on her bottom lip hard to keep herself from gaping like a fish. Garret Walker was fine. Doll giggled briefly and shook her head before tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "I meant your face though; not your body. Besides, I don't mean that you're the only one; just if you're interested." She made a face at him, tempted to throw a fry at him. "You know you can say Aya's name right? She's my cousin; I love her, she's not crazy and I'm not jealous. I think you've proved to me that you're on this date for your own reasons and not because Aya didn't want you." I don't understand how Aya couldn't want you but whatever.

Garret grinned and laid back in the grass, lifting his shirt again, just to tempt her to look. "So what do you think? Should I toss my dreams of being a baseball player for male model ambitions? I'm not entirely sure, I have the body for it." He knew he did, he wanted to see how she'd respond. "Alright, Aya...but what's made you change your mind? Oh, and I didn't think you meant my body, I was just showing off cause I can." He grabbed one of his fries and put it in his mouth as if it were a grape. "You could be a model too you know." He eyed tiny waist. "We could be a dynamic duo."

She turned to look at him, her eyes lingering on his body for more than it should have. Doll's cheeks flushed and she tilted her head heavenward to look at the sky as she struggled to keep composure. "Well it's all up to you; I hear the pay is great and all those perks." Izzy turned to him and smirked. "Though I think Aya and several of your family members would chase you around, tryin' to beat you with a stick if you did model." She made a face at him; she knew she had the body for modeling but she had never wanted to be in serious pictures. Izzy didn't know why; maybe it was because she really was insecure about her face, or maybe she was just so used to being behind the scenes; she would have rather sketched the models than be one of the models any day.... But that was just her.
She smiled at him again and shook her head. "Thanks but no thanks; modeling isn't my scene." Doll paused, finally getting her fill of the food before grabbing her milkshake which she sipped at before setting it down. "I'm honestly too lazy to think of questions right now...", she laughed softly. "Why don't you just tell me about yourself? I'll tell you about myself too."

Garret continued to put curly fries in his mouth like they were grapes. "Alright so maybe I won't be a male model, because my dad would kill me and Aya would tear me limb from limb slowly before that, so I guess I'll just have to work harder on my game and actually show that I care." He grabbed his milkshake and sucked the thick liquid through the straw as he watched her. "I like baseball and I'm a jerk, that's all you need to know about me." He laughed.

Doll laughed and grinned at him, ignoring the fact that his shirt was still raised and she could still see his flat stomach. "See, I like that idea a lot more than you trying to model." She followed suit and sipped at her milkshake, licking her lips absently before glancing at his direction again. "But that's pretty much all I know about you, you're going to have to give me more than your obvious behavior Garret." Doll paused to run her fingers through her hair. "Tell me a secret about you; something no one else knows... And it better be good."

Garret rolled his eyes and made a tsking noise at her. "I don't have any secrets and even if I did, why would I tell you? You tell me about you and then I'll figure out what you want me to tell you based on what you've told me. Obviously you tell me your favorite color, I'll tell you mine, but there are some things I'm not going to even touch, I don't have the specifics yet, but I'll let you know."

Doll made a face at him before finishing her shake. "Fine; I dunno if there's anything interesting about me though so you're going to have to help out." She set her empty cup inside the paper bag before moving to lie down on the grass just like Garret was doing. She put her folded hands on top of her flat stomach. "Well I guess I should start from the very beginning. My birthday was a couple of days ago, March 15. I'm the third of 4 kids; Apollo's the eldest and he's annoying sometimes but he's my big brother and I still love him. I'm closest to my youngest sister, Sasha. My siblings and I moved here to live near my Aunt, Aya's mom... Because..." She trailed off, she didn't really know why they moved. "My parents wanted us to move. I don't really know the story. Pol knows, I'm sure... But I think they're separating... That's just me.", she laughed softly as if it didn't hurt though she found it hard to breathe just thinking about it. "I don't know what's up with that.", she whispered softly.

Garret rolled over onto his side, his shirt falling back where it should be. "First, I'm sorry. Second, I'm sure that's not the reason at all and maybe they just wanted you to be closer to family. My birthday is March 19, so also a couple of days ago. I'm the oldest. I have a little brother, Grady and we have a cousin named Collins." He held up a hand. "That wasn't much to go on, but uh, I can't really say I'm particularly close to either of them. Sure we have the same friends, we attend the same school, Grady and I play the same sports, but I don't tell him or Collins everything."

She turned to face him as well and she laughed when she heard his birthday had been a few days from hers. "Belated happy birthday then, Garret." Doll shrugged. "You know, sometimes I wish Apollo would just fess up and tell us what's going on... But then sometimes, I'm glad he doesn't. I mean, if he knew it all along and kept it a secret just because, it'd be mean... But if he knew and didn't tell us because he didn't want us to get hurt, then I'd understand... It makes a bit more sense, you know?"
Doll fell silent and simply listened to him speak about his family and for some reason, she liked it. She liked listening to his voice. She met his gaze and grinned. "So who do you go to? I mean, to tell everything and stuff." She was afraid he'd say Aya; she didn't want to be jealous especially since this was just a first date but for some reason, she couldn't help herself. "Well I didn't say I was done... I had a pretty boring childhood though; I learned about art when I was very young because my dad loved art. He'd take me to museums, to my lessons, it was something we did... Just the two of us. Hmmm, I like french fries and vanilla milkshakes and I like birthday cake flavored ice cream."

Garret nodded. "Yeah, I totally agree, if he was doing it to be mean, then that's just mean." Sometimes he was just a jerk and he couldn't help it. "I'm sorry, did I tell you I'm often insensitive? Cause I am. I don't know how to deal with this....stuff." He gave her a concerned face and then looked away.
"So...um, I don't go to anyone. I usually let it out by walking right over there." He pointed at the pitching mound. "And throwing ball after ball after ball at the mesh fence, over there." He pointed at the home plate. He listened to the next segment of her history and nodded. "My dad loves baseball." He made shifty eyes. "He's been my baseball coach since I was old enough to be put on a team. He tried super hard to get me on the team before I was old enough, but it didn't work out. Grady, actually..." He chuckled. "was brought along for the ride and when he reached baseball team age, he was expected to perform just as well as me..." He grinned evilly. "Grady's alright, he's just not at my dad's level and so instead of me hating and resenting my dad for putting me in striped pants and baseball caps, Grady does. I like curly fries, onion rings, and milkshakes of all varieties. I have never had birthday cake flavored ice cream, but I do really despise ice cream cakes."
