Doll laughed. "It's okay Garret; I'm glad you listened anyway... I mean who enjoys listening to sob stories on first dates? A bit silly don't you think?"
I guess it made sense that Garret would use his passion for something to let out whatever angst or problems he had for the world; it seemed a lot smarter than wrist-cutting which some people did. She grinned at his sudden look. "So did you love baseball because of baseball or did you love baseball because it was something you did with your dad and your brother?" She laughed at his next part. "Okay so basically all diner food. Why don't you like ice cream cake? It's great! I'm going to have to find you some birthday cake ice cream then; you've been missing out Garret." Doll smiled at him.
"See? Isabelle Marie Anderson is a boring person. She likes to draw, sketch, and paint; she goes clubbing with her younger sister because she likes to dance but not as much as Sasha does." Izzy paused her third person speech and made a face. "Oh, and I'm a lightweight. A shot of tequila and my head starts to spin."

Garret shrugged a shoulder. "That's what I'm apparently best at, listening, and to be honest I do listen, though most guys would just sit there and pretend." He shrugged. "So uh I don't really know the answer to that question, I think it's both, I'm pretty sure it's in my blood to love baseball, even if my dad hadn't drilled into me. Grady loves baseball, he just doesn't love it as much as me." He shrugged again. "I can't say there is a single thing on the menu at Palmer's that I don't like." He finished off his fries and started on the remaining onion rings. "I don't know what it is. I just don't really care for it. Usually I'll eat the chocolate crunchy things between the cake and the ice cream, but that's the only part I enjoy." He rubbed his stomach. "I like my cake to be fresh out of the oven with the icing melting into it."
"I don't think you're boring, if you're boring, then I'm twice as boring. So if I asked you to go to the club with me would you?" He didn't drink much, his dad would kill him, but that didn't mean he didn't sneak one in occasionally. "That's alright I'm a lightweight too." Lie, he honestly didn't know how much he could take.

Doll laughed. "Well that's a good thing you know; most girls would give you a lot of brownie points for that." She knew she did anyway. She turned to him and quirked a brow. "Are you saying you've tried every single thing on the Palmer's menu? That's awesome. I'd like to do that.. I mean not in one day but... You know what I mean.", she said with a tiny laugh. "Well I guess I like all cake; ice cream cake, cake flavored ice cream, cake in general? I'm a cake person I guess."
Doll nodded at his question. "Yeah I would; I mean I don't go there often now but I'd still go with you." She raised both eyebrows at his final statement, laughing softly. "You sure about that Garret?" He didn't seem like a lightweight.

Garret laughed. "They'd deduct those brownie points just as soon as I opened my mouth too." He raised his eyebrows, daring her to tell him she didn't agree. "Yes, I have had everything on the menu, most of it more than once. I've been in this town long enough and with Chelsea being one of my best friends, we frequent it often." He grinned and shook his head. "Have you tried the new cake lollipops at Starbucks?" He asked. "I'm sure about that Izzy, I'd be out like a light after one drink." He would be too if his dad saw him.

(( CAKE LOLLIPOPS?!!! ))
Izzy laughed, she couldn't really say that it wasn't true because it probably was. "Okay, you have a good point there... I'm not gonna lie; they'd probably throw a couple of rocks at you too." She sighed wistfully. "I want to do that, try everything on the menu. That'd be so much fun." She glanced at Garret and laughed. "Snap, that makes me sound like such a fatty." She sat up and looked down at him, her eyes wide and her mouth slightly gaping. "You're kidding me, cake lollipops?!" She lightly moved so her hair slid over her shoulder.

((Yes, haven't tried them yet)) Garret shook his head. "I do have a very valid point right there." He laughed. "Well I'll just take you to Palmer's until you get every single thing off the menu, but let me warn you, you're going to find stuff you're going to want to order again and again and you'll start to give up on trying everything and I don't think it makes you sound like a fatty, you could say you'd want to try it all in one day and with your tiny little waist, it would never cross my mind." It was a compliment and as far as he could tell, she couldn't find a way to twist it around into an insult. "I'm not kidding they have cake pops. One is called Rocky road, which is actually an ice cream so you can have your ice cream and cake..." He liked the way her hair slid over her shoulder and he wanted to play with it, but he held back.

(( HNNNNGGG!!!! )) Izzy grinned at him. "I think you've found my weakness, Garret." She laughed and tried to put her hands around her waist but her fingers still didn't meet. "Okay, so I'm tiny but still! I've never really watched what I ate but I'm still tiny. I just hope my bad habits don't catch up with me when I get older." She shook her head and ran her fingers through her untame-able hair before laughing softly. "Well I'm going to starbucks as soon as I can now." She met his gaze and smiled again. "I know it isn't over yet but I'm glad we did this; I didn't expect to have this much fun but I did and will continue to. Thanks Garret."

Garret smiled, glad he'd managed to find something to soothe her for the next time he said something wrong. He'd being her a miniature cake or a sheet cake or if he was really lucky she'd fall in love with the cake pops at Starbucks and he wouldn't have to shell out a fortune everytime he messed up.
"What time do you usually get up for school in the mornings?" He asked, thinking fast on his feet, or side..."I could come pick you up a little early and we could pick up a coffee and a cake pop before driving back into town for school." He honestly wouldn't mind. He was up early most mornings anyway unless it was a non practice Saturday or Sunday, then he'd sleep in, like today and he'd care. "I've had fun too. I didn't think I could have fun digging myself out of my own grave, but I think I made it?"

She bit her lip to keep her grin from reaching her ears. "I guess it depends on who is bringing me to school." Izzy smiled at him as she moved closer to him, tempted to just straddle him to see his reaction. She put her hand against her wild hair to keep it from shadowing her view of him. "I'd really appreciate that Garret." She laughed and looked heavenward for a brief moment before looking back to him. "See? You aren't so bad after all Garret; hard shell chocolate with gooey ganache inside."

Garret raised an eyebrow as she moved closer, but ignored it. "Chelsea told you I wasn't so bad and I'm not once you get to know me." He rolled back onto his back in the grass and stated up at the star strewn sky. "So tomorrow is Monday, do you want me to pick you up in the morning?" He knew the town only had Mud and Grinds and a Starbucks in the mall which didn't open until ten, but he knew of a Starbucks just outside of town that opened super early for those crazy people who had to be at work at four or five.

Izzy laughed and nodded before falling on her back once more to look at the sky, just as Garret was doing. She folded her hands on her stomach and sighed contentedly. "Yeah she was right, you are a nice guy." She glanced at him briefly before looking back at the sky. "So why do you do that? I mean... Why do you let people believe that you're a jackass when really... You're a nice and thoughtful guy?" Doll glanced at him and grinned. "Sure; I probably won't be able to sleep tonight from the excitement." She laughed softly. "I have simple pleasures if it isn't obvious."

Garret shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, it's just me and how I've always been. I'm nicer to the people I actually like, Grady says I couldn't work in retail though because they'd fire me as soon as they'd hired me. I can't hold in those thoughts I so desperately want to say." He grinned and shook his head. "I have a hard enough time doing it when I'm standing in line behind someone. Like this lady was buying these two really expensive pieces of luggage and I was trying to buy a new glove. She swiped her card and it didn't go through so the cashier let her try again, and then, she demanded that the cashier was doing something wrong because there was no possible way her card could be declined. I had to tell her what an idiot she was, the cashier was merely standing there, how could she have done something wrong?" He shrugged again. "She called her card, held up the entire line, and it wound up being on her side and not the cashier, like we all knew. Dumbass." He rolled his head so he could look at her. "I'm sure you'll sleep just fine tonight, it's not like you really like me or anything."

((Target experience? :\))
Izzy laughed at his story and turned so she was facing his gaze before smiling at him. "Well she deserved it; I hate it when people do that, lag everyone else just because they're self-centered." She shuddered. "Ugh, people like that ruin my day." She smiled mysteriously at him, afraid that admitting that she was finding herself attracted to Garret Walker wouldn't end well. Maybe he didn't like her that way, and then what would she do? "Though I was talking about getting cake pops for breakfast in regards to the no sleeping tonight...", She trailed off and grinned at Garret. "How do you know that I don't really like you?"

((Ha, ha yeah, tonight actually only a few minutes before we were about to close. I was thinking so many mean things and I was mad at her because I didn't want to get stuck there until she figured out what the heck was going on with her stupid card, because it would be considered rude if I passed it off to someone else so I could go home.))
Garret nodded his head in agreement, the cashier had thanked him once the lady walked out so she agreed too. "I didn't let it ruin my day though, I actually laughed about it with the cashier while she rang me out, but yeah I wouldn't be able to hold back if I had been the cashier." He nodded his head when she stated her excitement was geared toward the cake pops for breakfast instead of him picking her up and suddenly he felt a little deflated. "Well you just flat out told me just now, so yeah didn't know before, but I read you loud and clear Izzy."

(( Hnnnggg. Bad customers. :\ ))
Izzy laughed. "Yeah that lady was lucky to have you and not me; I would have blown up. I know I seem really easy going but if there is one thing that's 'wrong' with me it's my temper." She watched the disappointment flit across his features for barely a second and smiled, a bit relieved that it seemed like he wanted her to like him. Good, because she did... She scooted just a bit closer to Garret, her smile widening. Her voice was barely above a whisper, but she knew he heard her anyway. "Garret, I don't know if this is too forward or whatever and right now I don't really care... But I like you Garret... And I would love it if you took me out on another date." She bit her bottom lip a bit nervously as she leaned forward and briefly pressed her lips against his, hoping that he wouldn't pull away and that he would kiss her back.
