Avery nodded his head. "You know she'd probably appreciate that, do you want me to ask her for you?" He smiled, liking the idea that his future wife was willing to invite his mother to something as sentimental as wedding dress shopping, despite not having the best relationship with her. "I'm glad I could make your life better, you deserve it, you're such a great mother to the girls and you'll be a wonderful wife, I know it." He played with her hair. "I know we haven't really talked about this, but would you be completely against me deploying?"

Gracie smiled lightly, but gave a shrug, "You can ask her or I can call her later. Did she know you were gonna do this?" she asked him before looking down at the blanket they were laying on. She bit her lip and smiled as he continued talking, but that smile disappeared not too long after as she heard his question. She furrowed her brow to think about it but then shook her head as she looked up at him, "No. I wouldn't be against it. That's what you've wanted to do since before I even came into the picture, so of course I wouldn't be opposed to it."

Avery shook his head. "Well she knew I was doing something, but she didn't know all the details. He smiled when she said she wouldn't be against his deploying. He didn't have anything lined up, but it was nice to know if the base needed volunteers she wouldn't be upset if he did go. "I'll talk to her later, then she'll be happy to go I'm sure." He tugged on her hair again and then stared up at the sky, not really having much else to say.

Gracie saw the smile on his face and knew that she had said what he wanted to hear, and in all truth, she didn't mind. The thought kind of made her proud of him. He was willing to give his life for his country, although she hoped it would never come down to that. She nodded at his statement and let herself move closer to him, cuddling against his side before kissing him lightly on the cheek. "I love you," she said. Her head then landed against his shoulder and she smiled again. She was so happy with her life and she knew that it was only going to go uphill from here.
