Polaris smirked when the girl ran off in a huff. "Hmm I have half a mind to throw a ball at the back of her pretty little head." She inspected her food, checking to make sure the waitress hadn't spit in it. Once she was satisfied that the girl wasn't that stupid, she folded it tip-to-crust and then in half. Her brothers had taught her how to eat a pizza in one bite, but she would settle for this for the moment.

Shawn rolled his eyes and shook his head, not even bothering to reply to Polaris' comment about the girl. He blew on his piece again and took another bite out of it hungrily. He glanced up then to see the way Polaris was eating her own slice, with an eyebrow raised at her. "That's an interesting way you eat pizza..." he mumbled, still in the middle of chewing. "Does it taste any different, or something?" he asked, more curiously than anything else.

Polaris looked up and then quickly back down again. "It's not weird..." She muttered. "It's just faster." She took a bite out of a corner, hiding her mouth behind her hand in case she had gotten anything on her lip. "Now shut up, you're going to make me self consious." She didn't look at him while she continued to eat. Weird...speak for yourself.

"Oh." Shawn simply said in return, examining her eating her pizza before glancing at his own. With a short tilt of his head then, he folded the rest of his pizza the way Polaris had, and took a bite. "Hm...I guess its not too bad. Just....different." he mumbled, swallowing down the rest of his bite before getting a swallow of his drink.

Polaris smirked as he folded his pizza like hers. "My cousin and brother, Johnny and Romatan, had an eating contest while we were at the beach one time. While Romatan stuffed as fast as he could, Johnny just folded his pizza and ate it in two bites. Romatan had a stomach ache and Johnny got a free ice cream from the waiter-slash-fellow-surfer who was watching.

Shawn nearly choked on his own bite after hearing Polaris' story of her brothers. "Seriously?" he laughed, gulping down another swallow of his drink. He shook his head. "That Johnny is one smart kid then..." he chuckled some more, taking another bite out of his nearly finished slice.

Polaris chuckled. "Yeah it was pretty funny. Johnny doesn't really think though. If you didn't know him, you'd swear he was always high." She smirked. "They're always doing crazy stuff like that though. Especially when it comes to skateboarding."

"Most guys don't think, they just do...in case you hadn't figured that out earlier." he snickered, hinting that he meant himself in the bunch as well. "None of us are just too lazy to think things through, ya know?" he laughed again, finishing off his slice in one bite. "Don't think I'm the competitive type though...in fact, I couldn't give a damn." he added in, swallowing some more of his drink.

Polaris shrugged and nodded. She then raised her eyebrow, smirking at him. "No, most of them don't. Though I do have a guy friend from before I was home-schooled who thought pretty well. Usually, you would think it's only the weird-o nerds, but he was pretty geeky, but good looking too. He usually thought things out, mostly because he was mischievous." She finished pizza, wiped her hands on her napkin, and flexed her fingers. Polaris shrugged, pretending to look him over. "You don't look like you could compete if you tried." She smirked at him.

"Most of the geeky ones are the ones that do the thinking..." Shawn grumbled, mostly to himself, though not soft enough to hide completely. He slurped down some more of his soda to the bottom before taking off the top to chew on some ice next. He smirked at Polaris' next comment though. "That's cause I wouldn't ever try..." he shook his head, snickering softly.

Polaris smirked and chuckled at his grumbling. "I'm sure you two would get along. Or he would just have fun pissing you off. I haven't talked to him much since I left school though..." She scratched the back of her neck absent minded-ly, thinking to herself. She really did feel bad about not staying in touch with some of her friends from school. She only went for a year, but a group had taken a liking to her despite her bad attitude. She shrugged at Shawn's comment, a light smirk coming to her face. "Of course you wouldn't."

"Probably piss me off. That seems like the more obvious one right now." he said with a light chuckle. He thought about the last couple times he was with Polaris and her family. None of them really cared for him to begin with. They probably hated him now, considering he knocked up Polaris. They already have an on-off relationship. So Shawn had no idea whatsoever what his life was leading him to once the baby was born. He smirked lightly at her last comment. "Knowing me, I don't really care about much of anything..." he rolled his eyes some, and took another swallow of his soda.

Polaris shrugged, leaning on the table. "Dunno. He'd probably find you terribly fun to pick on. He's a trickster." She licked her lips, running her fingers through her hair and ignoring his last comment. "So are we leaving or what?" She asked, trying not to sound harsh. She was having one of those mood-swinging things where she could get pissed at the tiniest thing out of place. Finishing the last of her soda, she looked up at him, waiting.

"I see." he mumbled, leaning back in his seat, twiddling his thumbs over the table, before glancing back up at Polaris with a very subtle glare from her sudden question. "Oh, uh..yeah." he grabbed the check the waitress tossed at them right before running away again. He pulled out his wallet and laid out the just enough change they owed for their food, without a tip. "Alright, lets get out of here." he said so flatly, slipping his wallet back in his pocket and leading Polaris out the door quickly.

Raising her eyebrows at him when he glared at her, Polaris had to bite her tongue to keep from retaliating. Standing to leave, she hesitated before pulling out a dollar bill to lay on the table. She didn't believe in Karma religiously, but she had a sense of when her actions would have repercussions. Following him out of the door, she licked her lips and looked around. "What now? Or were you planning to ditch now that you fulfilled your promise?" Suddenly the trees down the street became very interesting, even the buildings down there that she wasn't particularly fond of, even the little bug that was crawling on the wall; all very more interesting and more important than Shawn's answer.
