Though Shawn did notice the single dollar bill Polaris left on the table, he made no motion to ask her why. He did turn to her once they were outside though to answer her sudden question, which he was caught off guard from, himself. "Oh. Um...actually..." he started to say, scratching the back of his neck, thinking. "I have no idea where to go now..." he admitted with a sigh. "I wasn't even thinking of ditching you though, if that's what you were expecting to hear...." he quickly added in, suddenly feeling the urge to pick out a cigarette from his pocket, but refrained from doing so by burying his hands away in his back pockets which were empty except for his wallet. "What, uh, what did you want to do? Go home?"

Polaris shrugged. "I don't know, you're the one with the ideas." She glanced at him, trying to think about where to go next but failing miserably. 'well what do you want to do?" She took a few steps, the took one step into the alley way where it was shady and cooler. Leaning against the wall, she waited for him to come over, hoping there was something he thought of that they could do besides awkward conversation which everyone knows is the worst conversation on the face of planet Earth. Maybe not Mars, but they were not on Mars, contrary to what she felt like every time she was around him.

Shawn shrugged his shoulders, following her to the alley she was already headed to. "Honestly, I wasn't planning that much ahead. I was shocked enough that you even agreed going on this date with me..." he admitted slowly, moving his hands to his front pockets then, fingering his box of cigarettes, fighting the urge for a quick smoke. He leaned against the wall beside her, in attempt to rid his mind of cigarettes for a change. "Is that so surprising that I didn't plan ahead?" he joked, actually showing a playful grin on his face.

Polaris glanced at him, copying his grin as she saw it on his lips. "I don't suppose." She shrugged at the first comment she had skipped over. "I was shocked that when I reminded you, you didn't say 'oh that was a joke, how could you think I was serious'." She mimicked his voice over exaggerating a bit by slumping her shoulders and miming holding a cigarette to her lips. She looked over and winked at him though, a playful smirk on her face.

Again, Shawn just raised his brow at her, and shook his head lightly towards the end of her little impression of himself, as he found himself clutching onto his package of cigarettes tighter in his pocket now. "Well, then, I guess I proved you wrong, huh?" he chuckled. "That enough proof that I'm willing to change? Or do you need more?" he teased with her, nudging her playfully shoulder to shoulder.

Polaris smirked slightly, challenging him with her eyes. "You bet I need more. A few hours worth of meek politeness don't cut you off slack too much Shawny." She poked him; now she was sort of egging him on, curious as to what he was doing or trying to play up. She knew he was trying to change but she didn't honestly believe he was going to be that good with just a day with her.

Shawn gave her a quick little glare at the nickname she purposely used on him, but decided to let it go for now. "So...what kind of proof do you need exactly? Ask you to marry you or something? Cause that's not gonna happen....at least not anytime soon..." he mumbled out the last part, feeling his cheeks burn red with embarrassment, wondering how Polaris would respond if he actually did propose to her.

Polaris smirked when he glared at her, but her expression quickly turned to surprise at his comment, not sure what to do for a second. She decided to fake a laugh and make a face at her. "Ew. Yeah right, let's get through this kid first then we'll see if it's durable enough to be stuck with you too." She poked him and gave him a light smile to hopefully show she didn't mean it to be harsh. She noticed his blush and starting laughing so hard tears came to her eyes. "Oh....my....god! Y-You're.....you're bl-blushing!"

"Seriously..." Shawn agreed with her, his face now growing more red, though this time it was more anger from what she just pointed out to him. "Shut. up. It's not that big of a deal, you know..." he told her off, turning his head opposite from her so he was staring out in the dark alleyway, his arms now crossed over his chest, more irritated than anything now.

Polaris tried to restrain herself, a few giggles escaping but otherwise she was good now. "Oh come on, you know you'd be giving me a hard time if something like that happened." She stood in front of him, a little close she she could turn his face with her finger tips to look at her. "Damnit either I've shrunken again or you've grown an inch since last I saw you up close. That's not fair Shawn." She said softy. She was trying to make up for her outburst, not wanting him to be mad at her when they were just getting along.

Shawn shook his head simply, a small chuckle managing to escape his lips even. When she turned his head back to her, he could only smile, mostly at the fact she gave about their height difference. "Well, I don't know about you, but I'm still growing. Just FYI." he told her, the last part with his face getting even closer having their noses just barely touch.

Polaris breathed deep, his scent always sending chills up her spine. It wasn't heavy cologned like frat boys that hit on her (and got a black eye afterwards) but she could tell he hadn't had a cigarette recently. he's out of his damn mind she thought with a grin. "Well I hope I still am, Nada's almost caught up with me. Mind lending me a bit of that growth spurt you've got?" With him moving closer she put her hands on his shoulders, now toe to toe with him, her head tilted.

Shawn noticed her coming closer by wrapping her arms around him, and all he could do was grin just a little bit wider. Especially at her next response. "Hm...I don't know. I don't want to see you growing past me, now." he continued to tease, unraveling his arms from across his chest so they were resting around Polaris' waist. "Besides, who says being tall is the greatest thing in the world? I bet being short has its advantages too..." he added in, only half joking.

Polaris wrinkled her nose at him in response to his comment, a light smirk on her face. It widened a bit into a smile when he wrapped his arms around her and she managed to shrug. "Can't think of any right now. You cant reach things on the top shelf, you have to use a step-stool to get spiderwebs in ceiling corners, and you have to be in the front row in everything." Her arms moved to wrap themselves around his neck, their lips just an inch away now. "Give me one good reason to be short."

"Hm...you make some good points." Shawn smirked at her, rolling his eyes upward to think of some good advantages shorter people have on tall people. "Well...I heard shorter people are more feisty." he smirked, finally giving in and pressed his lips onto hers. He lifted his mouth up to add in one more thing. "Feisty can always be a good thing, you know." he chuckled, and returned to kissing her, more passionately now.
