Perrin nodded, "Yeah, I'd love it. Do you know any other languages beside English right now?" He asked out of curiousity.

Summer shook her head. She started to say that she wasn't smart enough to learn, but she bit her lip and kept quite instead.

Perrin noticed it grow silent, and he began walking in the general direction he had seen her walking, motioning for her to follow him. "So do you come here often?" He asked, looking out at the lake.

Summer caught up to him, waling a bit behind him instead of next to him. "Ahh, this is actually my first time here." She said quietly. "I've been pretty much in my room at home this whole time. My mom forced me out of the house today." She looked down at her feet, counting her steps like she was before.

"It's so peaceful here," Perrin replied, switching between glancing at Summer and glancing at the lake. "And the fresh air is nice. I think I'll come here often." He turned around so he was looking at her. "Do you like nature? I would assume so, since you're here." He asked her a little childishly.

"It is peaceful." Summer agreed. She gave a slight shrug, glancing up at him before looking back down. "I like being alone." She said. "I do like nature though. I like being outside." She bit her lip, wrapping an arm around her waist.

Perrin's face lowered, "Oh... Did I disturb you then?" He asked, worried he had bothered her. He wasn't sure how to respond to her comment, but also wasn't sure if he understood her completely.

"N-no." Summer shook her head. "You didn't. My mom always says I need to make more friends." She gave a timid smile. "I'm way too shy to makes any though." She gave a small shrug. She was surprised she was talking this much.

Perrin's smile widened. "Good! I didn't want to think I was bothering you!" He told her, his childish demeanor returning. "So, what do you like to do?"

"Ahh, I-I like to sing. A-and I play piano." Her blush was still stained on her cheeks but she glanced up at him. "I'm n-not very interesting." She admitted, looking away again. She couldn't seem to hold his gaze for more than a few seconds. "What about you?"

Perrin shook his head, "No, that really interesting! I wish I could play an instrument." He told her, finally turning to face forward again, though still looking at Summer. "Hmm? Me? I like listening to music. And..." He shrugged, "I guess I like to sing, but that's more my big brother's forte." He giggled, "Even though he doesn't sing much anymore, he used to sing with me all the time!"

"Piano is fun to play." Summer smiled, it was nice to have something in common with someone for a change. "Really? That's nice." She bit her lip. "Sometimes...I wish I weren't so shy. Then I could do things with my siblings too." She confessed softly.

Perrin's face lowered a little. "My big brother doesn't sing much anymore, or talk much anymore for that matter. I kinda know what you mean... But I have a different view of it. You're not close to any of your siblings?" He asked her, tilting his head to the side.

Summer shook her head, then paused with a slight frown, finally shrugging. "I'm not really close. I'm too shy to talk to my own siblings." She gave a soft, sharp laugh and shook her head. "It sucks." She added much softer, not very loud but still enough so he could hear her.

Perrin's eyes widened. "Wow, really?" He thought for a moment, then smiled, "Maybe you just need a friend who can... how do they say..? Bring your out of your shell?" He tried, once again losing some confidence in his English.
