Amaya sighed, did he have to go against everything she said? "Well that sounds like a personal problem, huh? And I do know what you meant. I'm not stupid." She shrugged at his question. "Because, if a majority of them are girls, I wouldn't want to play. I don't like playing with girls." She lied, shrugging.

"It might be a personal problem, but I'm not ashamed." He grinned. "I didn't mean to imply that you were stupid, you don't look stupid to me, maybe a little naive." He glanced at her, wondering just how she'd respond to that. "Oh, I see, you like playing with boys. Collins doesn't have to come if you're against it." He smirked. "I know what it's like to be surrounded by the opposite sex and I liked the attention, all those girls swooning and pawing at me, it was nice." He laughed. "Though when I was looking down your shirt you didn't seem to enjoy the attention, so your motive for playing with boys must be different. Is it because girls are catty?"

"Whatever." Amaya sighed. "It doesn't really matter. I'm not against it, I just prefer playing with guys." She rolled her eyes at him, shaking her head. He seemed like the type of guy who who love that type of attention. As for her, she could really care less what guys thought of her, unless there was some type of mutual attraction. "It's because whenever I play with girls their all wimpy and I have to hold back. Guys play full force and it's way more fun."

Monte grinned. "Well you'll like my friends then, even Collins because she plays like the boys too. Did you want me to call them up now or are we just talking out of our asses and this game isn't actually going to take place?"

"Doesn't matter. You can call them now if you want." She said, leaning back on her hands again. After a second, she fell onto her back with a huff, folding her hands on her stomach. "How good are you at baseball?" She asked. He probably answered this already but she was bored and was trying to strike up another conversation.

Monte pulled out his cell phone and sent a text to Garret, he'd be the most excited about the prospect of striking up a game of baseball again and would rally the others. "I'm adequate." He said. "My brother was better, but I hold my own. We intimidated the captain of the Riverside team when we moved here, so I can't be too bad right?"

Amaya shook her head, turning to look at Monte. "I guess not." She said with a shrug. "Hey, you know what, I don't think I ever caught your name." In the midst of the arguing, she didn't think they'd ever actually introduced themselves. Amaya sat up, pulling her shirt off again once she began feeling hot.

Monte thought back on their conversation and argument and shrugged, they hadn't exchanged names. "It's Monte." He said, though he'd put a bit of thought into not sharing his name with her, but because they were going to be entering into a game of baseball with all of his ex team mates he couldn't count on them to keep his name under wraps. "And you?" He asked as his pocket vibrated, he checked the message from Garret. "They'll meet us at the high school field in about twenty minutes."

"Amaya." She said, standing. She ran a hand through her hair, looking around the park before bending over to grab her shirt. "How far away from here is the high school?" She asked, biting her lip.

Monte repeated the name to himself, testing it out. "Not far at all." He got up to his feet with a single jump. "Were you home schooled?" He asked, she looked old enough to be in the last years of high school or just graduated like himself. He put his phone back into his short's pocket and started in the direction of the high school with complete certainty that she would follow.

"I wasn't." Amaya shook her head, following him as he began walking away. "I used to be before I was adopted, but I've been to public schools for a while. Why?" She stuck her hands in her back pockets, looking up at him.

Monte slowed his pace so she'd be right next to him as they walked. "Just asking, you don't know where the high school is, seems a bit odd if you aren't home schooled." He shrugged. "School hasn't been out long enough for you to forget where it is..." He grinned, being a smart ass. "How old are you?"

"I know where it is." Amaya grumbled. "Just not from the park." She rolled her eyes, shaking her head. "I'm seventeen." She said. "I haven't been in this school system that long anyway. I still don't know my way around town much. Only the places I usually go to."

"Oh I see." He didn't really get it, the park seemed so centralized, he was new to Riverside too and he managed to get around alright. "Do you drive?" That seemed like the only factor that might hinder her getting around and knowing where major locations were around town, or he was just an asshole and assumed she visited the school and park on a regular basis like he once had. "Did you just graduate? Or are you going to be a senior in the fall?"

"Nope. I just walk places. I don't go very many places anyway. Just school and home. And now the park." Amaya shrugged, shaking her head. "I'm going to be a senior this fall. One more year." She sighed. "I'm tired of high school."
