Amaya sat on the branch of the tree, overlooking the people in the park. She hung onto a branch above her with one hand, the other on the branch she was sitting on. She sighed, swinging her legs back and forth. "I don't even want to be here." She muttered, standing and jumping from the branch. She winced as pain shot through her foot, leaning against the tree. She gave another sigh. "It's way too boring here."

It was later in the day than Monte was accustom to going running, but it was the first day since his twin brother had left for basic training and hadn't been around to be his human alarm clock. He knew it was the hottest part of the day and definitely the worst time of day to go for a run, but he'd gotten used to doing it every day and wasn't going to give up on it. He ran through the unshaded portion of the park, he didn't make it half way before he removed his shirt and tucked it into his pocket, he sped up when he caught sight of a shade tree and as he reached the safety of the natural umbrella he jogged in place to bring down the risk of injury.

"God it's hot." Amaya complained, pulling off her shirt, leaving her in only a tank top and shorts. She stayed under the shade of the tree, closing her eyes and leaning her head back against the tree. Amaya opened her eyes after a while, and caught glimpse of a shirtless guy jogging in place. She immediately adverted her gaze to above her, debating whether or not to climb back into the tree.

Monte instantly stopped jogging when he heard her voice behind him, he turned expecting that the heat had just gone to his head and he'd imagined the voice, but he was surprised to find that there was a girl standing behind him, her eyes shooting up to the branches of the tree they were standing beneath. A smirk worked it's way onto his lips as he assumed she'd been admiring him and had averted her eyes when he turned. "Something interesting up there sweetheart?" He teased, pulling his shirt out of his pocket to wipe the sweat off his forehead and body.

Amaya was just about to jump into the tree when his voice startled her. She frowned a bit at the nickname, crossing her arms and leaning back against the tree. She was tempted to tell him that she had been trying to see which would be the best place to hang herself, but she decided against it and instead said, "I'm debating whether or not to climb back into the tree." She tried to ignore him wiping himself with his shirt, moving her look to slightly behind him.

Monte paused his wiping down and looked up into the tree. "I see..." He continued wiping himself down, wiping the back of his neck last before stuffing the tshirt into his back pocket. "Do you spend a lot of your free time in trees? Is there some advantage to being up higher than your fellow park goers?" He asked, finding the best place for him to grab the branch and hoist himself up. He did so with great ease and looked down. He could see down her tank top and he let off a chuckle. "I guess there's one good thing to about being up here." He shamelessly kept looking down her shirt.

Amaya sighed, not really wanting to explain why she climbed trees. "I just climb them for fun. No particular reason." She moved a bit when he started to climb the tree, and immediately crossed her arms over her chest, backing away and frowning. "The view?" She rose an eyebrow, backing up a bit more just to be on the safe side.

Monte jumped down from the tree. "Yeah the view was spectacular." He raised his eyebrows at her and then shook his head. He was practically kicking himself for even trying, it wasn't like he was interested in finding a female companion, all the other girls hadn't panned out why should this one be any different. She reminded him of the last girl he'd been with, no particular reason she just did. "Well don't let me stop you from your fun." He brushed his hands off on his shorts and turned his back to her. "Fucking girls around here aren't worth it anyway." He considered running back through the long stretch of sun and giving up on the rest of his run. He'd managed to slip back into his previous hatred of this town and his place in it.

Amaya kept her arms crossed, and didn't bother to respond to him. She rolled her eyes, "I would hardly call standing in the hot sun fun." She was about to walk away, but his next statement stopped her and she whirled around to face him again. "Hey!" She snapped, placing her hands on her hips and glaring at him with a frown. "Don't categorize me with other girls you've been with. I'm not like other whores in this place!" This guy has some nerve. She thought, annoyed. Who the fuck does he think he is?

Monte raised an eyebrow and turned to face her again. His next question would be the surest way to get himself a blow to the face, but he had a bad habit of putting his foot in his mouth and saying what he shouldn't to people. "What kind if whore are you then?" He crossed his arms over his chest mocking her. "I'm not picky." He lied he was in fact very picky, shallow more like, but it wouldn't be to his benefit to admit it, nor would it matter, she was attractive. He took the opportunity to look her over subtlety. He liked the two tone of her hair, the application of her eyeliner, her complexion, but the most attractive feature had to be the fight in her. She didn't seem the type to back down from something without a fight and as she'd already prooved she wasn't going to take his shit.

"That's not what the fuck I meant, and you know it!" Amaya growled, completely losing her temper. She didn't usually get angry this fast, but something about him annoyed and interested her at the same time, and it was irritating. "I'm not a whore at all. I don't go around fucking every guy I see. I meant that I'm not like whatever girls who've messed around with, and you shouldn't judged me based off whatever fucking relationship, or one-night stand, or whatever the hell it was you had."

"Quite honestly darling I don't know you so I had no way of knowing what the fuck you meant. I'm not the one who phrased my sentence in such away that would make myself out to sound like a whore and I'm not judging you based off some other girl I may or may not have fucked in the past." He was surprisingly cavalier. "You don't really look like the type who would have any notches in her bed post anyway. You look more like the kind of girl who wished but never gets to prove herself. I've been around the block a few times doll face and I know no two girls are alike. He'll I could be wrong about you, you may have more notches than me, but I won't know if you're any good unless I feel you from the inside." He unfolded his arms, but found he had no where to put them so he crossed them again. "Anyway what I meant was all the girls around here would rather hang themselves from trees than have a friendly conversation." Of course he'd hoisted himself into he tree to check out her breasts but it was only cleavage, most girls wore slightly revealing clothes for that purpose anyway, but he shouldn't have been surprised that she'd attempted to cover herself up or reacted in the way she did. More than half of girls with revealing clothes would react the same way. The minority wouldn't be ashamed to admit they wanted the guy to check her out.

Amaya listened to what he had to say, though it didn't nothing to quell her anger. She crossed her arms, resisting the temptation to roll her eyes at every nickname he called her, finding it a bit unsettling. "Don't get your hopes up." She couldn't help but mutter at his statement before he uncrossed and crossed his arms again. She did roll her eyes at his last statement, even more irritated, but for a different reason. Why didn't he just say that? Fuckin retard. "I don't have a problem have a "friendly conversation." You're the one who walked away." Amaya went to grab her shirt from where she'd tossed it, tugging it back on.

"I'm may have walked away because I'm smart enough to recognize body language, especially when it's defensive and off putting. I asked you a simple question and you sighed like you didn't care to talk. It wasn't like it was a algebra question and I needed you to explain it to me. Then you crossed your arms clearly a defensive I'm done speaking with you move. So basically you walked away from me. Regardless of who turned and walked first. Why should I bother with someone who doesn't want to talk to me and makes every effort to get me to walk away? " He made no comment about his ability to get inside her pants, if it happened it happened, but he just didn't see her giving it up easily. "Did you want to start over?" He asked, though he'd prefer to just go home and stay in bed until his brother's return. "What is so fun about climbing and sitting in trees?"

He was right and, even if Amaya refused to admit it. She hadn't really wanted to talk to him, but she was much to proud to tell him that. She opened her mouth to respond, and then promptly closed it again, walking back over to the tree and sliding down it, bringing her knees up to her chest. At his next question, she gave a shrug and said, "It doesn't matter." She lowered her legs, leaning against the tree. "It's not really fun. I'm an athlete, so I do things that are stimulating, like climbing trees."
