Anne grinned happily, leading Kan over to the stand looking over the menu at a closer view for them. "As American as this food may seem, it's still good food. It's not like its horrible or anything." she reassured him, turning his head to give eye contact at her last sentence said, turning back to the menu thinking of what she felt like eating today. "The fortune cookies are probably my favorite part of the meal, though." she giggled softly, pulling out her wallet getting ready to order her meal.

"Fortune cookies?" Kan asked, tilting his head, once again confused. "I never hear fortune cookie..." He said, also looking at the menu and deciding chicken fried rice sounded good. "It seem very different from Korea('s) Chinese food." He said, "not bad, just different."

Anne's eyes practically widened with fright, seeing that Kan hasn't heard of fortune cookies before. "You never heard of fortune cookies before?" she asked, her tone growing louder with astonishment. "Wow, I got a lot to teach you then. How long did you say you were in America for, again?" she asked, curiously, if not forgetfully, as she walked up to the register to order and pay for her own usual Chinese meal. Chow Mien, white rice, and egg rolls. And of course a large soda to go with it. After paying, and checking her receipt, she turned back to Kan waiting for her question to be answered.

Kan shook his head, then decided to order some friend rice with a medium soda. He returned his attention to Anne after paying, "I come here about two weeks ago... I have new family, so I stay until at least end of high school." He looked at his receipt, "So... this number?" He asked, pointing to the number his meal would be.

Anne nodded, "Well, at least now I know how long I have to have you more fluent in English." she chuckled lightly, leaning over to look at his receipt number he was pointing to. "Yup, that's it." she grinned, enthusiastically.

Kan grinned at her response, "Yes, you can teach me long time." He said, excited to have made friends with her, because he could tell he'd learn well.

"Mhm." Anne nodded in agreement. After a short awkward silence then, Anne's number was called first. She checked her receipt again, heading over to collect her meal. "I'll meet you over at that booth over there, once you get your food." she told Kan, already making her way towards the near booth, getting herself situated in her seat and started her meal by pouring soy sauce over her white rice. She pulled out her 'Americanized' wooden chopsticks and began digging in.

Kan nodded and not long after, his number was called. He took the tray and joined Anne. "Wow... You like lot of kanjan, huh?" He said, eyes wide as he pointed to the soy sauce.

Anne perked her head back up after suddenly hearing Kan join her again. "Hm? K-kanjan?" she looked down to see what he was pointing at. "Oh, soy sauce, you mean?" she was quite confused at what he was talking about. Perhaps it was the word for soy sauce in Korean. She didn't know. Instead she bit her lip, stirring up some of the rice with the sauce together, before taking another bite of it.

"so-ee sah-su?" Kan tried, then laughed lightly, embarrassed, "I didn't know word..." He tried again, this time using the "right word." "You like lot of so-ee sah-su, right?" He took a bite of his own food, "waah~ This very similar to Korean fried rice."

Anne couldn't help but giggle at Kan's attempts at the foreign word. "So-ee. Saw-ss." she repeated to him slower, in attempt for him to say it correctly this time. "Soy sauce." she repeated it again quicker for him to follow after. "That was a good first attempt. It just takes practice." she told him, encouragingly. Then, once again as she was taking a bite of her Chow Mien noodles next, she laughed at Kan's humorous accent complaining about the Americanized food they were eating. "Really? Hm, that's interesting." she said, trying to hold in the rest of her laugh by slurping up some more noodles then a bite of egg roll.

"so-ee saw-ssu." Kan tried, then frowned, "It's too hard~" He whined, dancing a little as if throwing a fit, commonly known in Korea as "aegyo (cute)."

Anne continued her giggle fit as Kan continued trying to pronounce the words correctly. "You're funny." she teased. "You'll get it eventually though, don't worry." she added in, more of a sweeter tone this time as she took another bite of her rice and chow mien, gulping down some of her soda next in line.

Kan's face formed a slight blush, and he buried his head in his food until he was almost halfway done. "I like American Chinese." He stated simply, taking some of his drink next.

Anne grinned back at his comment. "It's good, huh?" she asked, though obviously it was quite clear that it was, seeing that he had eaten almost half his meal already with Anne's plate already being half eaten first. "Mmm..." she smiled greatly as she slurped another bite of noodles in her mouth, closing her eyes to savor the taste for a second longer before swallowing, opening her eyes again. "Yum."
