Kan sighed, looking around the music store with little interest. The store in the Incheon Airport had more music than this place. "You should go out and have fun!" I had told him. "But... Englishi..." Kan had protested. "No... help... make hard to go anywhere." "You'll be fine!" I told him, then handed him a cell phone, "Here, it has GPS, so if you get lost, you can find your way home. Home is programmed in, see?" I told him. Kan finally found the section he was interested in: 90's music. He looked at a CD, slowly reading the English to himself quietly. "아, 어려워요... (Ah, it's hard...)" He whined, putting the CD back. He took a familiar-looking CD off the shelf and looked at it, scanning it under one of the samplers and listening to the tracks. "아! 맞다! (Ah! This one!)" He exclaimed, a little too loud as he got some looks from the people in the store. He shrunk back, silently bobbing his head to the music as he looked at the tracks and the cover, then the price. "조금 비싸... (a little expensive...)" He muttered to himself. "I want eet." He whispered desperately, putting the CD on a nearby shelf and checking his money, Korean Won scattered in between the dollar bills. "Yesss!" He whispered again, pumping his fists, excitedly. He once again received strange looks, "뭐야 (what)?" He asked, attempting a snarl at one of the people nearby giving him weird looks.

Like usual, Anne showed up in the late afternoon to the mall, her skateboard gripped at her side as she had just came from the skate park; her usual place she went to. She had heard about all her favorite bands coming out with new CD's and she just had to check it out for herself. As she walked into the store, she first noticed how crowded the room was compared to how it normally was this time of day. With a shrug of her shoulders, she continued her way down past the R&B, Country, and 90's pop to get to her usual corner she liked to wander around the most: Recently Arrived. She skimmed down most of the CD's with her finger, looking through all the bands alphabetically until finding an Album by Pink!. She turned it over to the backside, seeing what songs were new besides her new hit single F*cking Perfect, and began skimming through some of the other albums looking for something else that interest her, paying no attention to her surroundings, for music was her only friend in this store that she ever payed attention to.

Kan took the head phones off and grabbed the CD, looking around leisurely for any other bands or singers he might recognize. Not paying attention to where he was going, he ran into another person. In Korean-style, he gave no apology, and simply rubbed his shoulder and walked on, muttering, "너무 복잡해 (It's really crowded)... 서울 것 같아 (It's like Seoul)..."

Anne must of had like, three other CD's in her one hand by the time she was reaching for the fourth. "Eminem is always good." she muttered to herself, grabbing the CD just as she was bumped into by some guy who seemed to willingly decide not to give an apology. "Woah, dude! If that CD comes out scratched, you're buying it." she snapped at the boy, swiping the CD case off the ground, checking the inside making sure it was still good. "You're so lucky its still in good condition." she muttered mostly to herself as she grabbed her things, heading passed the boy who rammed into her, and just rammed into his shoulder right back purposely, heading towards the register. Although with her petite looking size, it probably didn't do much of anything to him.

Kan blinked at her, then furrowed his eyebrows. "미국 사람은 (Americans are)..." He grumbled, then remembered an important bit of etiquette he was taught when he first came to the U.S. "Ah! Aimu sarri (I'm sorry)," He told the girl finally, giving her a bow as well.

Waiting in line now, Anne noticed the same guy who had bumped into her finally say something. Something that sounded somewhat like an apology. Anne raised a brow, "Dude. You're in America. Learn frickin' English." she said simply, not really understanding the bow he gave her as well. "What was with the bow, anyway?" she asked in a more curious tone than before.

Kan blinked at her, following everything she said and feeling discouraged. "I onry jus' moo-b here, you... 아 나쁜 여자... 지금 답답해*... (Ah, you bad woman. Now I'm feeling discouraged*)" He began, muttering by the end.
((*It's that evil word "dapdapae" again... the one that does not translate well into English.))

Leaving an eyebrow raised, Anne simply just shook her head, turning around to follow the rest of the line to the cash register before turning towards the boy again with just a simple shake of her head again. "I don't know what you just said, but it better not of been something so rude." she forewarned him with a simple glare in her eyes looking straight into his confused-looking ones.

Kan wanted to say something back, but didn't actually know any insults (he couldn't convince any of his siblings to teach him swear words, either). He took a deep breath, decided to act more adult about this. "It was not." He told her honestly, then added, "and... (trying hard to say it right) I am sarri."

Anne stared at the strange boy for a few seconds before finally opening her mouth letting out a light chuckle from the boy's attempt at apologizing in English. "I'm guessing English isn't you're first language then, huh?" she teased slightly, a soft smile coming out before moving up in line having only one person left in front of her then. "And don't worry about it. 'ts not like I'm badly hurt or anything." she laughed again, glancing up in front of her again before looking back at the boy, waiting to see if he had anything else to say after that.

Kan tilted his head to the side slightly at the other girl's change in demeanor as well. Americans are weird, he concluded. But if this was how to make friends, by being more adult about it, he could give it a try. He shook his head, "No... My firs' languaji is Korean..." He told her, trying his best to say it properly.

Anne just stared at him, a grin baring at her lips as he spoke once again. "I see." she responded simply. To be honest though, the only words that Anne actually got out of his previous sentence was 'No', and 'Korean'. "Well, you should keep practicing your English. You could use it. Especially when you're gonna be living here for a while." she added in, turning around to quickly pay for her music, checking her receipt before crumpling it and tossing in the bag as she wandered towards the strange boy again. "I could always help you with your English too, ya know. I live with a Japanese kid, so I'm used to teaching English to foreigners like yourself." she told him, before starting her way out the door and back into the mall, figuring that he would follow her out anyway.

Kan paid for the CD quickly and followed the girl, "I woul' la-ik dat bery muchy." He told her, in his excitement forgetting even the basics of English pronunciation. He paused for a second and corrected himself, "I... would like... that... (makes a face) very muh-ch." He tried. He let out a deep breath, "엥, 너무 어려워... (Whaa- it's so hard...)"

Just passing the music store, Anne could of thought she heard that same voice call out to her again, but with less English than before. It sounded more like gibberish to her. She turned around with a smirk on her face. "I'm sorry? What was that again?" she chuckled, unwillingly.

Kan made a face before letting out a frustrated breath, "I oould like you to teash me English, please." He told her. "Also, I have no friend yet... it a little boring..." He admitted, shoving the hand holding onto the bag from the music store into his pocket.
