Polaris rolled her eyes, opening her mouth to say something back to him until he started going off on her, stringing together 'fuck' and a whole bunch of others things that just made her flame up. "I also recall telling you I was done, to leave me be, and just forget about it. I'm sorry you came by also, but you think I'm just going to shake off being called a 'fucking slut' and a shit load of other things in a week? If your week away from me was so great then why did you come back to get me? Maybe an explanation would have suited me before this, or at least the first thing you would do was apologize and not decide to take me to dinner and grab my waist." She was doing a good job of just talking through her teeth instead of screaming her head off at him in the middle of the restaurant. "If you thought things through, then we wouldn't be having this argument at the moment. If you really wanted to change, then don't assume we just switched rolls and I'm the bad guy now. I'm not someone you can just push around and use like your little servant who drops everything and does what you tell me to do. Did you ever once stop to think how this was affecting me, or did you just assume that I would hop on board with this whole thing and not be skeptical?" She had actually lowered her voice, almost to a whisper. If looks could kill, Shawn would have been dead in about 2174 different murderous ways, going on 2175.

Keeping the scowl on his face, Shawn's head only fumed even more, keeping his best to not blow up completely in the diner. Because he was really close to it. "Well maybe the only reason why I came back in the first place, was to just apologize. I wasn't even planning on taking you out to dinner. All I was trying to do, was to get away from that fucking sister of yours so I wouldn't get punched in the nose again!" he shouted through his teeth, making sure not to raise his voice any higher than it already was. "All I wanted to do, was to talk to you alone, without having to take you out to this fucking stupid-ass place just to talk to you alone. All I wanted to do from the start at your fucking doorstep, was to simply apologize for all I've done in the past, and to just start completely fucking over. I never even intended all this drama to happen all over again, either," his voice began to mellow down a bit, "Believe it or not, I was hoping you would of calmed down and forgave me even a speck for all I've done. Because," his voice rose again, giving a sigh, but not by much, "Because I really am sorry."

Polaris hung her head in her hands, not caring what he said anymore. Somehow she had known this was going to happen. "Nada wasn't going to punch you in the face for not taking me to dinner. I'm sure she didn't even want to let you take me to dinner. Is it to simple anymore for anyone to just say 'can I talk to Polaris for a minute?' instead of taking me somewhere to argue?" She sighed, finally looking up at him. "I'm not one to forgive and forget easily. Couldn't you have called to ask me to meet you somewhere? That way if we did fight, we could just hang up and forget it." She was talking more to herself now, back in a normal voice. She was more upset with the situation then angry anymore. "You're just not simple. You're so worried that something's going to happen that you're gunna jump the gun and try to defend yourself for nothing. I understand you're sorry. I already said my apologizes the last time and I'm not changing what I'm sorry for either."

Shawn frowned. Technically Polaris was right, and Shawn hated her for that. He really could of called her first, that way the worst that could of happened was for one of them to hang up on the other. Apparently, he hadn't thought of that, but he wasn't about to admit that to her. "The only reason why I sudden decided to take you out to dinner was to talk to you alone. Because I knew for a fact that I wouldn't be able to really get a simple talk between us without your good-for-nothing sisters peeping in on us! Especially Nada. And I'm not really in that great of a mood to fight with her anyway, let alone you." he continued arguing, nearly shouting back at her, without getting stared at too much. "Seriously though, if you really want to leave that badly, go ahead. I'm not stopping you," he put his hands up somewhat innocently, encouraging her to leave, "I don't even care if you tell that bitch what happened today, I'll just tear her head right off as soon as she comes close enough to me." he threatened, obviously talking about Nada who had previously given Shawn a bloody nose the first time they met.

Polaris shook her head. "Nada and Annie wouldn't have peeped on us, Annie knows not to do that, and Nada's really not that bad. Can you please stop shouting, I'm actually trying here." Polaris finally looked straight at him, not caring that her eyes had started to tear up. "I don't want to leave Shawn, I would've left by now if I did. Nada didn't cone after you the first time I told her so why would she do anything now? You keep jumping to conclusions! Even if she wanted to, I wouldn't have let her." She quickly picked up a napkin and dabbed her eyes as the waitress came with the food. She quickly thanked her and looked back at Shawn. "Let's just eat and we'll argue later. Please Shawn." She was actually pleading with him. She hated that she was going so low but she actually wanted to work it out a little so that he didn't hate her.

He would of argued against her, continuing on about Nada, but instead, Shawn let out a light nod, respecting her wishes to stop shouting, especially when the waitress had finally arrived with their food. Unlike Polaris, Shawn simply just made no eye-contact with the waitress, pulling his plate towards him, starting his meal without a single word. All he wanted was to get this night over with now. He did understand that Polaris was trying her best to help out as well, but with his frustrations getting in the way, it was obvious that there was going to be some shouts across the table sometime. He had noticed her eyes start to water a bit before, but decided not to bother ask about it, seeming as that would probably cause another stupid argument. Shawn just remained silent and continued eating his meal he had started.

Polaris sighed and pulled her meal towards her, starting to silently eat. She would e kept up the stubborn act if she hadn't been stubborn to her own self and simply piped down, not wanting to wise him to shout anymore at her. She really did want to make things better between them, but she doubted that he had any feelings for her like she still had for him. Thousands of scenarios of after dinner went through her head, only about 2 ending well. She finished most of her meal, finishing off what was left of her shake and sitting back quietly to wait until Shawn had finished.

During that awkward silence between them, Shawn had been giving more thought of why he really wanted to talk to Polaris alone. He could tell that she really had feelings for him. But he couldn't really tell for sure if he felt the same about her. It sure was possible, with the way he always acted around her, instead of how he normally acted around others. It was like he felt sort of, protective of her at times. Even if he had a funny way of showing it. Finally finishing off his burger and fries, stirring in the rest of his shake, taking the last couple spoonfuls of it before pushing that aside as well, Shawn finally was able to give Polaris that eye contact she deserved and wanted, rather than that scowl he almost always had across his face. "Well," he bit his lip at first, "that was, a lot better than I thought it would be." he finished, motioning to the food showing that was what he was talking about.

Polaris resisted flinching when he spoke, looking at him and noticing he didn't have his usual scowl. "The food or the silence?" She couldn't help but slip in the cocky remark, nor could she hide her small smirk. She folded her hands in her lap, hesitating. "Where should we go to talk?" She asked sort of quietly. She would've suggested the woods, but she felt it probably was the base of bad memories and if they did make up, she was afraid it might get repeated. But she did want somewhere where there weren't people around.

Shawn furrowed his eyebrows. "The food, of course." he answered, sounding almost annoyed of her cocky attitude, but let it go soon enough when she asked where they should go talk. He knew where she was going with this too. He didn't really want to talk much more until they got somewhere where they actually knew there would be no people. "Um," he started out thinking aloud. He was also thinking the woods, but thought that probably wouldn't be best considering what had happened the last time they were in there. And he didn't want that happening again. "Well, we could go to--" he was interrupted by the waitress coming up asking if they were finished. Shawn nodded, answering for both of them and the waitress grabbed their dishes out of their way setting the check down in the middle of them. At first Shawn just stared at it, before grabbing it to take a look at how much he owed. Pulling out his wallet then, Shawn almost forgot what he was saying to Polaris, looking up just then when he set out the correct amount of cash which surprisingly wasn't expensive at all. He stood on up once the check was finished, holding his hand out to Polaris. "Let's just get out of here. Anywhere, but this town has got to be better."

Polaris nodded. "I was kidding." She bit her lip. "Personally I hated the silence." She said softly. She tried thinking of somewhere to go, her thoughts interrupted by the waitress coming over. She smiled again at her, then looked at Shawn. "I call paying for the tip." She had quickly set down $5 from her pocket as he picked up the check before he could reject her offer. She ran her fingers through her hair as he laid the checkbook back down. She nodded at his statement, then hesitated. Finally, she took his hand and stood up, letting their hands linger together for a second before she let hers slide out of his grasp, looking away. "Alright." She started towards the door, glancing back to see of he was following.

Shawn smirked, he had personally hated the silence as well, he just decided not to say anything. As she had laid out the $5 on the edge beside the check, Shawn let out a slight shrug. He had forgotten all about giving tips. Considering he never really gone out to eat anywhere such as this place. Grinning lightly as she slipped her hand into his, he led her out of the Diner, frowning only slightly when she slipped her hand back out of his grip. It wasn't something he would hold against her though, he was actually quite glad she had let go. Another silent moment while they were walking on the sidewalk, Shawn slipped his hands back into his pockets, trying to think of something to say while they were on their way out of the small town.

Polaris caught his smirk and she smiled lightly to herself. Good, she was actually making him smile instead of scowl at her. When he grinned as she took his hand, she blushed looking away. She put her hair over one shoulder as they started walking, thinking. "Can I just straighten out one thing?" She looked up at him, biting her lip. "Nada isn't the one you should be mad at. I thought she was actually kind of nice at the door." She quickly looked down again, not wanting to look at him if he starting ranting off about how her sister was such a bitch. "She's my little sister, so she just doesn't want anything to happen. Because believe it or not, this had happened to me before and she felt like it was her fault when she couldnt help me. She's just protective." She gave the explanation quickly, wanting to get this point of argument out of the way so he'd stop using Nada against her.

While Shawn was still thinking of how to start up this conversation, Polaris seemed to beat him to it. Not the way he wanted to start, however. But it would have to do for now. He listened carefully to what she had to say about Nada, her little sister, and how and why she was so protective. He nodded, understanding what she was saying, though was still slightly confused. "It's okay. It's just that..." he started, "back in the forest, I don't know, you were saying, not bad, but just not so good things about her. I guess I was just thinking so much differently about her before I really got to know her." he tried explaining himself, biting his lip, not too sure as to how she would react to his explanation. He just hoped this wouldn't end in a yelling competition again. "So...what did happen before?" he asked with a curious expression. "I mean, you don't have to answer if you don't want to, I was just curious." he quickly added in, rubbing the back of his neck again as a nervous habit he was growing quickly to suddenly.

Polaris nodded, listening to him. "I knew you hated her because she gave you a bloody nose when you guys first met. But I also wasn't happy with her because of that so I don't know what I was thinking." She bit her lip and reddened when he asked what happened. "Well-" She caught him rubbing the back of his neck and she quickly pulled his hand down, hanging onto it. "Don't do that you're making me nervous." She sighed and thought for a moment. "I had a bad...well actually it was a really good relationship, that just ended badly." She took a deep breath. "When I told you I had gotten into a lot of trouble, it was because of him. Sometimes I let him drag me into stuff, sometimes I had no choice." She unconsciously intertwined her fingers with his as she bit her lip harder. "Don't judge me for this, but our relationship was more physical than anything else. He claimed he loved me, bought me things, was really nice.. But I could just tell he didn't really care. I finally called him out on it when I caught him sleeping with his bestfriend's sister. He threatened me, called me things like.. Well a bitch and a slut-" she scoffed lightly, "-and other things. It was hard getting over it. But when we moved, I got over him, hopeing I wouldn't have to go through it again..." She just realized she was still holding onto his hand with both of hers, and quickly let go. She didn't say anything else, feeling she'd already let out way too much.
