After a week of not seeing, talking, or even thinking about Polaris, something jogged Shawn's memory from that last night he had with her in the forest. Maybe it was a little too much drinking the other night, but he finally decided that maybe it was time to face her again. He had planned on heading over to her house to talk to her face to face. Not even bothering to leave her a message about his plan. It would be a little surprise.
After searching for the written address Polaris had given him before, Shawn had finally made it down to her street, standing right in front of her house. Or at least, he thought it was her house. She did say something about living in the back of a house. So he took a risk, something he did on a normal basis, and lurked around the corner, heading towards the back of the big, grey house. Luckily, he didn't spot anyone outside. All was going according to plan so far. Then, just as he was walking up the porch stairs, Shawn started thinking to himself wondering who would be the one answering the door. He hoped to god it was Polaris. He didn't know what he would do if it ended up being someone like Nada. Closing his eyes as he approached the door, Shawn hesitantly knocked on the door at a rapid speed before opening his eyes prepared for possibly a slap across the cheek for a greeting.

After the week that Polaris had stopped talking to Shawn, she'd being doing rather well, helping Annie with Ron and hanging out more with Nada. They argued less now and Nada wasn't so hard on everyone that much. Polaris got used to the fact that a certain purple haired problem wasnt about to bust through her door with some weapon, demanding something. She didn't forget it, having to retell it to Nada, then a few other of her sisters, but she refused to let it get to her. That one day of tears was absolutely enough for her.
Polaris sat on the couch, watching the tv with Annie and Nada. They heard a loud rap on the door and Polaris looked lazily over at it. "Probably Eian wanting Quo. Annie, would you?" "Yea, it could be your boyfriend." Nada winked as Annie blushed and got up. She opened the door, letting out a squeak in alarm. Nada quickly rushed up from behind her, glaring slightly. "Polaris if you get up, so help me god, I will kill you." Polaris groaned, but stayed put. "What do you want?" Nada asked rather calmly, moving Annie away, who was scared still by Shawn. "We dont want any trouble." It took great strength for Nada not to hit him in the spot, but she didn't hold back from her cold stare.

It only took Shawn two seconds to rethink what he was doing, and almost deciding that maybe today wouldn't be the best for this. Just as he was about to take a step down the stairs then, Annie opened the door, with her squeak catching his attention. He grinned lightly, trying to be as friendly as possible for his sake. That is, until Nada came rushing up behind her, giving Shawn the death glare he had never forgotten. "Hey, I don't want any trouble. I just want to..." he paused, trying to get his words out correctly and nicely as possible. Especially when he was talking to Nada right now. He let out a soft sigh before he continued. "Is it alright if I talk to Polaris for a moment?" he finally asked, leaving it with soft eyes and a moderate tone, trying his best not to give any sort of glare at his so-called enemy standing in front of him.

Polaris would have bolted out of her spot on the couch if Annie hadn't rushed towards her and pinned her down, sitting on her stomach. Nada looked him over, folding her arms. "Why should I trust you with my older sister? How do I know you're not going to pull her off and do something again? I don't want anyone coming back to me, ready to shove a dagger up someone's ass and out of their mouth like she had when she came home." Polaris silently thanked Nada for not mentioning the tears. "Give me one good-calm- reason why I should even consider it." Nada tilted her head up slightly, her short white-blonde hair falling behind her ears.

Shawn couldn't help but glance in to see Annie quickly have to pin Polaris down just to keep her from stepping towards Shawn. He looked back down at Nada then, shutting his eyes tightly, trying to come up with the best possible reason while still staying in his cool, calm stage. He clenched his fists together, and then relaxed them again, opening his eyes as he placed his hands casually in his pockets, biting his lip before saying his answer. "Well, for one, I'd like to apologize to her. I know that wouldn't help much, but it would be a start for me. And second," he paused biting his bottom lip again almost having to force out the last sentence, but managing to say it just as calmly as he has been doing so far. "I'd like to take her out for some dinner. My treat." he let out finally, pushing back his purple hair with his hand, rubbing his neck afterwards.

Polaris quit squirming with Annie to listen to Shawn, going completely limp and dumbfounded by what he said. Nada shrugged and leaned against the door frame, looking back in the house. "What do you think Ris? You up for it?" "She is!" Annie quickly replied before Polaris could say something; Polaris quickly had Annie on the floor, wrestling with her for her remark. Nada smirked lightly and looked back at Shawn. "She'll be ready in a minute." She turned to leave then turned back. "Look I'm not the bad guy here. I'm over protective and I've gotten a little tired of Ris' poor attempts at boyfriends. So help me if you screw this up tonight..." She couldn't muster up a threat that sounded worthy enough for him- lucky being saved from the task by a disheveled Polaris walking out. "Bye." Nada quickly shut the door before Polaris could change her mind ( or what had been decided for her). But Polaris just stood there, looking at Shawn's knees rather than his face.

Shawn just stood there, listening in to the decision making going on between sisters, then finally let out a friendly grin at the response he had been looking for. He turned his face back into a serious one again, listening to what Nada was saying and all. "I understand." he managed to mutter out, looking down at his feet then up again, once Polaris started out the door beside him, and Nada slamming the door practically in their faces.
At first, Shawn stared blankly first at what he had chosen to wear, on his surprise date night, (it was a surprise for him too) wearing his black baggy jeans with a loose chain hanging out of his pocket with his wallet being on the other end sitting in his pocket along with his cigarette packet beside that as a habit he had carrying them around; his old, wrinkled, black band t-shirt with a slight rip in the collar part of it. And then his purple hair left in an uncombed mess like usual. After looking down at his poorly chosen ensemble, Shawn finally got the guts to grab hold of Polaris' hand, leading her back down the porch stairs and out the front to the sidewalk. "So...where would you like to eat?" he finally managed to speak out, in rather a calm tone of voice he had on rare occasions such as this one.

Polaris only had on her ripped jeans and a dark blue button up T-Shirt she had loaned from Qui, her sister, because all of the rest of her clothes were in washer. Her hair was a mess from wrestling with Annie and she didn't have anything in her pockets but her phone. She definitely hadn't thought she was going anywhere today and she was sure that she looked like a complete mess. Once she stole a glance at Shawn's clothes, however, she guessed that she probably looked better than him.
She was surprised as he grabbed her hand and pulled her down the stairs of her porch. She quickly pulled it away once they were away from her side of the house though. "Don't care." She folded her arms, refusing to look at him. She had no intent to forgive and forget and the dinner wasn't going to change her mind at all. She wanted to ask him why he'd come, why he even bothered with it- but she let it drag on, maybe saving it for wherever they went so she could just blow up there in public. (Mwaha evils ;} haha)

Shawn narrowed his eyes back down to Polaris once she swiped her hand away from his, crossing her arms. "Um, okay." he simply put, moving his eyes back forward again, leaving them with an awkward silence till they made it out of the neighborhood and in the entertainment district nearing the diner he decided on taking her to. He had heard about their best milkshakes in town, and figured that if not him, then a milkshake would cheer her up even the slightest bit. "So, um..how've you been?" he awkwardly asked, glancing down at her from the corner of his eye every once in a while, not feeling up to giving eye contact just yet...

Polaris stuffed her hands in her pockets, wishing she had gotten her jacket out from her car before they left. She kept her eyes either in front of them, or the the side, the opposite of where he was standing. She almost jumped when he spoke to her, but managed to keep from doing so in front of him. She shrugged. "Really good. I've been hanging out with Annie and Nada since my brother has to get all of his stuff ready for college with our cousin Anna." She tried to keep it as short as possible, not trying to put anything in to fuel up a conversation.

Shawn nodded simply. "That's, cool." he replied back, sliding his hands in his pockets as well. He wanted desperately to continue this conversation, but from the way she answered him, it didn't seem like it would last much longer. All Shawn wanted to do was apologize for once in his life. Especially from the week long talk he's had with Toni, Shawn hates to admit that maybe it was time for him to change. Attitude wise, anyway. He bit his bottom lip lightly, trying to come up with something else to put out, just to get Polaris out of her box as well as himself. Of course though, Shawn couldn't think up of anything else to say, so instead he slid his hand out of his pocket, and attempted at at least wrapping his arm around Polaris' waist, hoping she wouldn't deny, though he had his doubts still.

Polaris sneered slightly at his sentence, looking away. Se could tell he was really straining with this. Sh sighed softly, looking away from him and around the entertainment district, trying to put her mind on other things instead of the person she was walking by and what he wanted. She finally got exasperated when he tried to put his arm around her waste, walking a few steps away from him. "Really Shawn, I thought you were smarter than that. Oh wait, that's right, I don't know anything about you." She wanted to say more, but she would let those two sentences sink into his head before she let anymore out. She didn't care if he got mad at her again, this time she was completely ready to walk home again if they started an argument. If he had the nerve to shout anything at her while she was walking away this time, she was sure she could have many witnesses if she got mad enough.

Shawn slipped his arm back down to his side when Polaris took a step away from him, furrowing his brows. He got so close to growling back at her, but even he knew that wouldn't help at all what he was really trying to do." Sorry.." he mumbled out, lowering his eyes back to the ground hiding his gritting teeth from her from holding in the frustration inside him. He moved his hand back in his pocket, this time, not even thinking of making any other moves on her. Even though that was basically all he knew what to do. Shawn had never known the words to say to a girl, especially to one he had hurt in the past, for he had never cared before, like he does now. He tilted his head back up again slightly, only to take a look around the entertainment center, searching for that Diner he wanted to take her to. Finally, they walked right to it. Without saying a word, Shawn paced himself ahead of Polaris, only to open the door for her, managing himself to simply say, "Ladies first?" saying it more like a question, as he didn't really know what he was doing, but you could tell that he really was trying to improve his old self.

Polaris folded her arms, not regarding his apology with anything but a small 'hmph'. She knew she probably looked like an extremely stuck up hitch at the moment, but she could care less, telling herself that the person the actions were directed towards deserved it. Though she honestly didn't know what he "deserved" anymore. Already she was starting to get more nervous the more she was around him. She had no idea what he was thinking, but she could tell just by being near him that he was holding something in. Yeah insults and an argument. she thought bitterly to herself, though there was this annoying feeling inside of her that told her it wasn't true.
Just when she was about to ask where they were even going, Shawn walked in front of her towards a diner. Polaris sighed as he opened the door, at least making a feeble attempt to be polite. She gave a slight nod at acknowledgement of him and walked in. "Thanks." She muttered, putting her hands in her pockets and relaxing a little. She decided to make a little attempt to be nice since he was making an attempt to not screw this up.
