Monte made a sort of disgusted face with her response, he couldn't see the turn in her mood, but he wasn't like Avery, accepting of her mother's rudeness. "You've been here for at least a week right, what the hell is taking her so long?" He wanted to apologize to Gracie for the outburst, but the words didn't bubble out of his mouth as quickly. "I don't get why she's so difficult."

Gracie shrugged, "I don't know. She just hasn't had time, I guess... She wants me to take the girls over there, but I'm too nervous to take them in the car by myself." She licked her lips lightly before she looked down at her baby girl and she shook her head, "She's not being difficult--" She wanted to defend her mother, but there was really no defense. She just didn't want to come. She didn't want to discuss this with Monte, she had a hard enough time explaining it to Avery and she had no idea how she'd be able to tell Monte about this.

Monte accepted her answer and didn't press further, though he still wasn't impressed by the way her mother was handling the situation. He rocked Devyn gently and occasionally glanced her way. "Tomorrow I could drive you to your mom's that way you can sit with them in the back seat." He sighed. "Though you might want to get comfortable driving with them just in case." He would always be available to Gracie if she needed him, but he was also realistic, she might not call on him, even if she needed him.

Gracie licked her lips and nodded lightly. "Yeah, I think that's a good idea. I'd have to call and see if she's working. Tally might know. I can ask her tonight," she said, thinking out loud, more than anything, although it was directed at him. She nodded again, but then shrugged, "I don't think it'll be too big a deal, really. I hadn't planned on driving them too many places besides the doctor when they're really tiny and Tally said she'd go to the appointments with me, so I should be good for a while."

Monte nodded. "Well let me know if you need me, like I said, I don't have anything planned for the next six months so I'm at your disposal." He nodded his head and looked away from her feeling a bit awkward and useless. Gracie really didn't need his help, she had plenty of help from Tally, he was just trying to weasel his way in there just because he wanted to be near her and he was beginning to wonder if it was blatantly obvious and she was just agreeing because she was a sweetheart.

Gracie smiled at him, she really was thankful that he was there. She was thankful for everyone. She had so much help that she didn't deserve, really. She knew she didn't deserve Monte's kindness, not after what had happened and how she'd treated him. "Thank you," she said quietly. "I really do appreciate it..." She let out a soft sigh and laid a blanket out on the floor, which was difficult with the baby in her arms, but she managed and laid the little girl down before smiling at her. "You're so pretty."

Monte grinned. "Thank you." An obvious joke, but he hoped to get a smile out of her like the one she was giving to her daughter. "Your girls are beautiful." He put Devyn on the floor beside Harper and went back to the chair. "I can only hope my own children will look half as gorgeous as these two." Not that he was planning on having any children.

Gracie looked up at him and smirked, she looked back down at the baby, though and smiled more genuinely. She couldn't help but smile when she looked at them. She loved them way too much. She smiled even wider as he complimented them. She nodded, "Thank you." She licked her lips and moved to get a play station for each of them so they'd have something to look at before they fell asleep. She shook her head, "It's just so hard to believe that Avery and I created them by accident. They seem to perfect to be accidental." She licked her lips and moved back to the couch, crossing her legs as she watched them, they're little eyes amazed at the colors above them. "I'm sure your kids will be just as beautiful. You and Avery have the same blood."

Monte sat back and watched them look up at the brightly colored objects above them and then let his eyes wander to Gracie. He loved the way she adored her girls and he had to agree with her, they were perfect and accident or not, they would be loved forever and always by family and if they inherited Gracie's sweetness and Avery's charm they'd be loved by all they came into contact with. His kids wouldn't have a hope in hell unless the mother was a perfect angel and had really potent genes because he was rotten to the core. "You want to go get ready for dinner?" He asked. "I doubt they'll get into much..."

Gracie watched the girls still, never noticing that Monte was looking at her. She rested her head on her hand, her elbow on the arm of the couch and she smiled again. She found herself wishing she had a camera, so she could take a few pictures to send to Avery. She shook the thought away, though, thinking about sending pictures only made her sad. She was pushed out of her thoughts when Monte spoke and she nodded, "Yeah, that's probably a good idea... You're still going to come along, right?" she asked lightly as she stood from the couch.

Monte averted his eyes just as she looked in his direction and nodded. "Uh, yeah. I was still going to go." He shifted in the chair and focused his attention back on the girls on the floor. "Go get ready, I'll keep an eye on them and an ear on the door." He glanced in her direction and flashed her a small smile.

Gracie gave him a small nod smiling at him as she left the room. A flutter ran through her stomach as she did, which was confusing her. Why would that happen? She wasn't going to allow herself to fall for Monte, she couldn't, she wouldn't. She shook the thought from her mind and went to prepare for the dinner ahead. She was almost finished when she heard the knock on the door. Monte said he'd keep an ear on the door, though so she ignored it.
Tally waited at the door, hoping someone came soon. She rang the doorbell, now, not sure if her knock had been heard by the people inside.

Monte was more concerned about Devyn laying on the floor coughing up her formula than answering the door. He picked her up, a bit alarmed, afraid that he wouldn't know what to do if she were chocking, but once upright, she seemed to be alright, he wiped the spit up off with a rag and with her in his arms he went to the door. "Hey." He said, opening the door for Tally and Zane. "Gracie's getting ready, she should be done soon." He smiled at Tally and then stepped aside so they could come in.
"You're a regular Mr. Mom aren't you." Zane teased, but Monte was too busy fighting demons inside of himself to pay much mind. He was thinking about Tally, how she and Gracie were identical just like him and Avery, and yet he wasn't even mildly attracted to her like he was Gracie. It wouldn't be so bad if he didn't think that's how Gracie viewed him. It was wrong, the entire thing, he shouldn't be pining after his brother's girl, or feeling sad because she wouldn't ever see him in the same light as Avery. He snapped out of it and closed the door. "Yeah gotta make sure nothing happens to them you know." He said it softly and offhand, making Zane raise an eyebrow. "Uh, Tally could you watch the girls? I'm gonna go get their car seats..."

Tally smirked at the boy who opened the door. She wasn't sure which she found more laughable, the fact that Monte was holding a baby or the fact that he was talking about Gracie's getting ready, "Alright," she said softly, a light chuckle in her voice. She walked into the home that belonged to her sister and her boyfriend. She stepped over to the other baby she saw laying on the living room floor and lifted her into her arms. "Hey there, gorgeous," she said lightly with a smile. She was already as attached to her nieces as their parents were. She kissed the baby on the forehead and looked over at Monte as he spoke, "Uhm, yeah, just put her on the blanket, I guess. Are we going to have to drive separately?"

Monte placed her on the blanket and then hesitated a second. "She spit up just before I got the door, so just..." He stopped mid sentence, Tally loved the little girls just as much as he did, she wouldn't let anything happen to them. "I think we have to, two car seats and four of us." He tried to figure out the best way to split them up so Tally and Gracie could be together. "I could take Gracie and the girls and we'd just meet you wherever." He liked the arrangement, but wasn't sure how Tally would feel about it.
