Kavi's heart skipped a beat, even though the fact that Kyon was his daughter was normally received well, it still made him nervous to tell people so. "Uh, my daughter, actually." He replied finally, a little quieter than before.

Daughter? "Really?" Marissa looked back over to the little girl, a very subtle frown on her face. He doesn't look old enough to have a daughter her age. Marissa smiled then, who was she to judge, considering her current situation? "She's adorable. How old is she?"

Kavi smiled, "She's three." He explained, shifting, slightly uncomfortable even though she received that news well.

Kavi's change in attitude didn't go unnoticed by Marissa, and she quickly changed the subject. "So, uh..." She frowned, trying to think of something to think of. Her eyes darted around the park, until they fell on his camera. "You take pictures?"

Kavi smiled, "oh, yeah. It's become my favorite hobby in recent years." He admitted, a little sheepish. "Well, that and sleeping." He added jokingly.

Marissa giggled softly, shaking her head. "That's cool. I don't think sleeping counts as a hobby, since most everyone does it." She added "most" because half the time she didn't sleep herself, fear of being outside alone overpowering the need to rest. "What do you take pictures of?"

"Kyon, mostly," he replied, pointing over to his little girl now playing in the sand. "Also a lot of landscapes." He added. "What bout you? What are your hobbies?"

"Oh." Marissa turned her gaze back to the little girl before shrugging at his question. Does being homeless count? "I dunno. I used to play piano before I..." ran away? "Left home." She looked down at the softly ruffling papers beside her. "Oh, and I draw."

"oh, that's cool..." He muttered incoherently before realizing what she said completely. His eyes widened as he looked at her, "Why'd you leave home?" He asked, before looking away, biting a nail and giving her an apologetic look, "Sorry, you don't have to tell me... It's not my business to ask..."

"My parents were way too strict." Marissa knew that sounded like a horrible excuse, but if she sat here and tried to explain to him why she'd left home she would probably break down and cry, and she didn't want to do that, especially not in front of a stranger. "I know that's a horrible reason but...I couldn't live there anymore. I didn't have my own life..."

Kavi shook his head. "I won't judge you... I'm sure you had good reasons. We're strangers, I can't expect you to tell me everything." He replied, understanding completely and respecting her lack of explaining, besides, she had been respectful enough to not ask about Kyon's mother... So far. "Um..." He began awkwardly, out of practice when it came to flirting. Is that what I'm doing? He wondered, not really liking that he put a word to it. "Did you want to get some food?" He offered. "My treat?"

Marissa bit her lip. Part of her wanted to accept his offer, but her more stubborn half refused to allow her too. She knew she needed it, and she knew that he probably knew she needed it, but she couldn't bring herself to accept help from anyone, let alone a stranger. "I-I couldn't ask you to do that..." She finally muttered, though her stomach chose the perfect time to growl once again. Marissa winced, touching her stomach, the pains were growing worse.

Kavi could see her retreat into pain, trying to make his wince obvious. "It's okay. Kyon needs some lunch soon anyway." He insisted, trying his best to not make it seem he was flirting. He really hated putting a name to it. Flirting meant he was interested, and being interested meant the risk of getting rejected, or having his heart broken. Again. He was trying to stay focused on the girl in front of him instead of getting lost in his own thoughts, running a hand through his hair and letting out a small sigh. His own stomach convinced it was okay to flirt for a little longer, and he gave her a small, weak smile, "I'm the third person that's probably hungry right now." He told her lightly.

Marissa started to deny again, but when her stomach once again chose to growl, she gave up and nodded. "Alright. If you really want to..." She looked around the park, biting her lip. "Is the diner fine with you?" That was the only place she knew to eat, because the prices were really cheap, and it would make her feel better if he didn't have to spend a whole lot of money on her.

Kavi nodded, whistling to get his daughter's attention. "저녁 먹자 (Let's eat)." He called to her. MinKyon came running up, a big smile on her place at being able to play, even if only for a little bit. Kavi zipped up his backpack and put it over his shoulders, then grabbed onto MinKyon's backpack. Finally looking back to the girl his age. "Introduce yourself Kyon." He told his daughter simply, motioning to the girl still across from them. "She's going to eat with us." "Oh." Kyon replied simply, then smiled and waved cutely to the older girl. "Hi onni (older sister*), I'm MinKyon." She said. Kavi rolled his eyes, "Why do you call every older female an onni. Most of the people you've met don't even know what it means." He then looked to Marissa, "Are you ready?" He asked her, not at all sounding impatient.
((*onni means older sister, but it's also used to represent a female who is older than the speaker. [Kyon is younger than Marissa, therefore she would be called onni.]))
