Marissa silently finished her soup, not sure of what to say next. She was convinced that he felt sorry for her, which was exactly what she didn't want. She didn't tell people of her situation, mainly because she was afraid they would try to send her back to her parents, but also because she hated people feeling bad for her. "Are...homeless people uncommon here?" She finally asked after another spoonful of soup.

Kavi shrugged, "Honestly, I don't go many places except school, her preschool, and the park." He admitted. "I think it's just... you're my age. I couldn't even begin to imagine living on my own right now. Especially since I have her." He said, glancing over to MinKyon as he mentioned her.

"Oh." Marrissa bit her lip. She had no idea if homeless people were common where she was from, mainly because she wasn't allowed anywhere near the main city. "School..." A small frown made its way to her face. She'd thought about enrolling herself into the school here, but fear kept her from doing so. "I wouldn't suggest living on your own until you're good and ready."

Kavi smiled, "Yeah. I... I got pretty close to having to live on my own..." He said, glancing to his daughter as if to hint it was because of her her. "My parents were pretty mad when they found out what happened to my girlfriend... But they became supportive." He was trying to express how lucky he was to have parents that understood him without sounding like he was bragging to this girl who parents didn't seem to understand. Giving up dancing around the bush, he let out a breath, "Do you..." He began, his voice all to high. He cleared his throat and tried again, "Do you want to like... at least spend the night?" He offered.

"At least you have supportive parents." Marissa muttered, lowering her eyes. She wasn't trying to guilt him or anything, she was actually genuinely glad that he hadn't experienced what she was experiencing now. She would never wish this on even her worst enemy. Her eyes flew up to his when he asked if she wanted to stay the night, growing wide as well. "Wha--I...I don't want to bother you...." Marissa finally got out, almost immediately kicking herself for that response. Here this guy was, offering her a place to stay that was probably safer than sleeping outside, and she was about to deny him. "I-I mean, if it's really okay with you..."

Kavi nodded, "I'm sure one night will be okay..." He gave her a genuine smile, "At least then you can wash up and get a good night's sleep. You can probably even borrow some of my sister's clothes. I think you two would be about the same size." He offered.

Marissa nodded, biting her lip. "Alright. Thanks." She smiled at him before looking down again. "Well, I'm ready when you are I guess."

Kavi nodded, then looked to his daughter. "Kyon, are you ready to go?" The little nodded. "ready!" Kavi looked to Marissa, taking her garbage and throwing it away, biting his lip slightly as he watched MinKyon reach out her hand expectantly to Marissa, looking up at her with big eyes.

Marissa thanked Kavi softly and stood as well, looking down at the little girl who was holding her hand out to her. She hesitantly took it, biting her lip and looking back up at Kavi with slightly widened eyes.

Kavi's eyes softened. "Is there anything you need to grab, or..." He began, not able to help but look at his daughter with a soft, yet silly smile on his face.

Marissa shook her head, grabbing her bag off the seat. "No, this is it." She felt a little embarrassed about it, but he already knew she was homeless, so she forced herself to get over it.

Kavi nodded, beginning to lead the way. Kyon skipped ahead to catch up with her daddy, one hand still holding Marissa's as she grabbed onto Kavi's. Kavi smiled, holding the door open for them with his free hand. Something else, I swear... He thought, smiling as he shook his head at his daughter. Remembering there was someone else there, he pointed in the general direction of his home. "It's not far from here, don't worry." He assured her.

Marissa kept her bottom lip between her teeth as Kyon grabbed a hold of Kavi's hand as well. She thanked him as he held the door open, and nodded at his statement. "Alright." Marissa didn't really mind walking, and even if she did she wouldn't complain, considering he was giving a virtual stranger a place to stay and all. At least for the night.

The walk to the house was practically silent, except for MinKyon's happy humming. All too soon, they arrived at his home, and he still had no clue what he was going to tell his parents. If he was lucky, they were working. However, as soon as he got inside, he heard noises from the kitchen suggesting his mom was making dinner. "Take off your shoes here." He told Marissa, quieter than before. "Kavi?" His mother called, and he physically flinched. Ever since MinKyon happened, his parents had been pretty strict about any girls he hung out with. As his mother came into the hallway, her expression went from happy to a mix of curious and wary. "Who's this?" "Uh... mom, this is Marissa. We uh..." Kavi began, but knew he was horrible at lying. "We met at the park..." He admitted, looking to the ground. "Nice to meet you, Marissa." Mrs. Choi said happily and sincerely, but then added, "But if you don't mind, why are you here?" "Is it okay if she... stays the night?" Kavi asked awkwardly. Jina looked from her son to this girl. "Why..?"

Marissa nodded to Kavi, slipping her shoes off where he instructed. When his mom came out though, she felt her heart begin to pound just a bit harder and bit her lip, ready to leave if need be. "Uh-nice to meet you too..." Marissa muttered, lowering her eyes. At her question, Marissa looked back up at her, trying to come up with something to tell her. Finally, she just said, rather quickly, "I'm kinda homeless and I don't have a place to stay. B-but if it's a problem with you I can just leave..." She glanced up at Kavi before looking back at his mom.
