((shameless Parappa The Rappa reference))
Amaya tugged on her tank top and sweat pants, slipping on some flip flops before pulling her blonde hair in a ponytail. She grabbed her gym bag and bounded down the stairs, passing Aiden in the process. "I'm off for practice. Be back later." She announced as she dashed past him. She debated taking her car but quickly decided against it, instead walking to the Fitness Center.
She made it in no time, heading into an empty practice room. She tossed her bag to one side, kicking off her shoes. She turned on some music on her ipod, and began stretching.

Shen looked out the window at the nice day and decided it wasn't one to be spent inside. After all, they were in a new town, new country, and here he was cooped up inside, having practiced English with his sister for most of the morning. He changed out of his skinny jeans and put on some black sweat pants. He grabbed a thin, matching jacket to go over his tank top, putting it over one shoulder as he went down to his parents. "妈妈,我要在这里找到一间健身房。(Mom, I'm going to find a gym around here.)" He told her, he looked around more, "的爸爸在哪里 (Where's Dad)?" "他把事情解决在工作中。在天黑之前赶回家,这方面还是陌生的,我不想让你迷路。(He had to get things settled at work. Be home before dark, this area's still unfamiliar to you and I don't want you getting lost.)" His mother replied back simply, giving him a smile. "Ok, bai bai." He told her, waving her off before heading out. He pulled out his phone, happy he got with GPS. The only downside to it was it was all in English. He typed in "gym" and got the directions he needed.
Once he got there, he looked around, taking in the sights of an American gym. In reality, it wasn't too much different from a Chinese gym, but something about it being American... He shook his head, going into a room he thought was unoccupied, but then noticed there was already a girl in there. He raised up a hand in apology, trying to remember not to bow, "Sorry..." He mumbled to her, not even sure if he'd even been noticed.

Amaya didn't notice anyone come in as she started her routine. She didn't get very far though, as she didn't have her partners there to practice. She continued practicing, though her concentration was broken when she finally saw someone in the room. Amaya stumbled a bit, pausing her music and taking a bud out of her ear. "Oh, hello." She wondered how long he'd been in there.

Shen was getting ready to leave the room when she started her routine, and he ended up entranced until he noticed she saw him. He blushed a little; he hadn't meant to be staring. "Um... Hello..." He muttered to her shyly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to... but I didn't see anyone in here at first and then I just..." He rambled, but paused and took a breath. "What was that you were doing? It's amazing."

Amaya smiled a bit at his rambling, grabbing her towel from her bag and wiping her forehead. "You're fine, don't worry. I wasn't expecting anyone to be here. Besides, you're more than welcome, the room is big enough for the two of us." She placed her hands on her hips, laughing a bit. "Thanks. It's called Capoeira. It's a fighting style."

"Oh wow..." Shen muttered simply, not sure what Capoeira was exactly. But it seemed interesting, and it was fluid and beautiful to watch, as Wushu was for him so many years ago when he first joined. He seemed breathless as he asked her nervously, "Do you mind if... if I just watch more of it?"

Amaya wasn't fully expecting him to ask, but she nodded anyway. "Yeah, sure I don't mind." She cut her music on again, sticking only one bud in her ear this time. She took a deep breath, starting her routine over from the beginning. Once again, the part with her partners came, and looked a bit awkward by herself, but she tried to do it anyway. At one part she slipped, but tucked her upper body in, landing on her back from a tumble. She began laughing, rolling onto her side and sitting up. "Ahh, sorry." She chuckled, pulling the bud from her ear again. "That wasn't supposed to happen."

Shen smiled softly, having been entranced by her motions. "Oh no, it's fine. It's really smooth, I like the way the motions are." He told her softly, still seeming as if he were entranced. "How long have you been practicing it?" He questioned her.

"Thanks." Amaya grinned, sitting on her feet. "Yeah, it's pretty fun." She tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear, thinking. "Uhm, just a few years. I'm not as good as some of the guys there, a thing they like to hold over my head." Amaya rolled her eyes. She was the only girl in the class right now, and even though she had talent she wasn't nearly as good as some of the men there.

Shen furrowed his eyebrows. "If you're a senior member, you should help the other people, not brag about it..." He muttered, to more himself than her. America must be really different than what I'm used to... He thought to himself. He recalled when he had first started Wushu, he was the youngest person there, but everyone was still really helpful towards him.

Amaya let out a tiny shrug, not really having heard what he'd said. "Oh! I'm Amaya, by the way." She said, pushing onto her knees. "It's actually not too hard once you get the hang of it. It's pretty much mixing dance and martial arts." She pushed back, finally sitting on her butt. "So, what brings you here? I'm sure you came here for a reason."

"I'm Shen." He replied simply with a small smile. "Oh um.. I wanted to practice Wushu a little..." He explained to her, looking around the room. "But I got interested in... what did you call it? Capira?" He tried, knowing that wasn't right.

"Wushu? What's that?" Amaya smiled a bit. "It's Capoeira." She stood suddenly, placing her hands on her hips. "Do you mind if I see what Wushu is a little bit?" She was curious, she'd only ever done Capoeira and traditional Karateso she wanted to see if it was very different from Wushu.

Shen got up, telling her he'd be right back and coming back with a bamboo pole he had noticed on his way in. He smiled as he came back in, "It's a type of Chinese martial arts." He explained to her as he got set up, stretching a little before giving her a demonstration.

Amaya sat against the wall, drawing her knees up to her chest. Her eyes were wide as she gave him her full attention, fascination soon turning into amazement. "Oh my god." She said once he finished, eyes still wide. "That was amazing! How long have you been doing that? It seems super hard."
